I've been doing a normal cut for quite a long time and I'm getting sick of it. Has anyone done rapid fat loss? What was your experience?

I'm not sure I can endure eating basically a kilogram of chicken breast and some cucumbers per day for a month or two. How miserable is it actually?
>>
>>77454068
My experience with it is that my strength completely vanishes. I have done 2 separate cuts from 200-170 and due to the speed at which I did them (2lbs/week) I basically went in circles.
>>
>>77454080
What about muscle loss? I don't really care much about strength loss in isolation but logically I'd think heavy strength loss equates to more muscle.
>>
>>77454084
Pretty sure too much of that 30lbs was also muscle. I didn't get nearly as lean as I wanted to despite losing 30lbs. Very likely only half of that was fat.
>>
It's extremely motivating to watch the scale go down on a daily basis but if you go too long you will have brain fog and massive cravings. Most guys will not have the discipline to cut their workouts to two days of two heavy sets a week without cardio. You can try maintenance days on workout days once every week or two. Also, some people follow a less strict version where you eat 30-40 grams of fat per day to maintain hormone and mood balance. Also, by cutting carbs you will seem like you are shrinking and losing muscle but this is water loss.

There's a Delray Misfits episode where Big Richard tells Jason to eat nothing but canned tuna for a couple weeks before a bodybuilding show. This is just that same boomer "wisdom."

It will "work," because it's a crash diet with constant protein consumption, but it's not sustainable for the timeframe you're listing. You'll have zero strength because your glycogen stores will deplete since gluconeogenesis doesn't sustain it. You'll "waste" most of the protein to gluconeogenesis as well which inflates the dietary protein requirements. The whole theoretical diet would work better with some carbohydrates every meal (glycogen, protein sparing, ect) but everyone is a fat carbphobe so I just don't want to fight that battle anymore.

Also, if he seriously thinks a cucumber can prevent vitamin/mineral deficiencies on what is essentially a protein shake diet, he's a fucking idiot. It doesn't matter too much though since this is a diet intended to be ran for a couple weeks max. Look out for dehydration. A diet like that will dehydrate you quickly especially since he coaches people to live off caffeine in that timeframe.

Then you are at risk of the usual problems of a crash diet.
>>
>>77454090
What were your workouts and diet for that time period?
>>
>>77454102
He never claims cucumbers provide all the nutrition you need. Where did you get that notion?
>>
>>77454105
>>77454102
Bodybulders really do believe eating green trash is nutritious and balances out roids and aging yourself with weightlifting lol
>>
>>77454109
Are you retarded?
>>
>>77454102
>Also, if he seriously thinks a cucumber can prevent vitamin/mineral deficiencies on what is essentially a protein shake diet, he's a fucking idiot.
I threw that in, I was being hyperbolic.
>>77454105
Probably took my OP at face value
>>77454100
My issue is that I'm down 15kg since late february but I was quite fat so I still have 10kg left at least and I'm having bad fatigue since despite still being pretty fat it's not as bad as it once was so the motivation is dwindling. I haven't slacked off yet but I'm wondering if a 6-8 weeks of this shit will be less miserable than another 15+ weeks of regular cutting.
>>
>>77454068
I dont have to cut or be fat because I dont eat animal flesh like a retard and plus I am strong then you.
>>
>>77454115
>I am strong then you.
Ok Ranjeet keep do sneedful pls
>>
>>77454104
>workouts
some version of ppl I've since switched off of
My lifts were 185/325/405/485, cratered to 160/275/335/415
>diet
Almost exclusively chicken, rice, protein shake, a piece of fruit a day, multivitamins and tea.
>>
In my experience, this is harder than straight up fasting. If you can tolerate feeling like shit and not sleeping for like 28 hours just do a 36 hour fast 1-2x per week. It yields the same fat loss results as 6 days of PSMF so just eat your last meal at like 8 pm, go to bed, sleep as long as possible, don’t eat at all the next day, go to sleep, sleep as much as you can, and then break your fast around noon the following day. Because you only need about 28 hours of will power 1-2x per week, I find this to be a lot easier than basically any diet.

Reminder DYEL mcdonald can barely deadlift 315 and bench 200 despite decades of lifting and looks like shit (this is bodybuilding, being thinspo isnt gonna cut it for this argument my dude)
>>
>>77454147
Bill Belichick can't play football but has 8 rings
>>
PSMF is really for professional athletes and bodybuilders prepping. You’re only doing it for a short time, so a non-athlete doesn’t need to worry so much about keeping protein high. You can just not eat and the muscle wasting will really be marginal.
>>
>>77454114
You might need at least a couple of weeks at maintenance if you're feeling like crap all the time. You've kept up a relatively aggressive pace of weight loss.
>>
>>77454125
Whats your diet like the rest of the time
>>
>>77454154
And Lyle has no IPF winners or Arnold or Olympia qualifiers. Not even nationals and i doubt he has any regionals either.
What's your point ?
>>
>>77454068
Eating becomes so unenjoyable you'll probably have issues making 900 kcal/day if you don't cheat.
>>77454080
What routine did you do on it? I always HIT routines on steep cuts and literally have to hold back on it to not hit PRs in the short term and fuck myself up.
>>
>>77454102
You should read the book because it's obvious that you haven't.
>>
>>77454068
I did it for four months and, on the whole, it was easy. At the start there were no cravings whatsoever, no lack of energy and no problems sleeping, although I was around 30% bf when I started. When I trained it was while fasted too early in the day before I ate anything and was amazed how great I felt. Towards the end I started to feel more low energy especially in the mornings, but a caffeinated pre-workout zero cal drink of some kind helped with that. If you follow his advice and take all the recommended supplements and electrolytes it should be trivial to keep it up for a couple weeks or months for anyone who isn't a weak-willed little bitch.

>Eating becomes so unenjoyable you'll probably have issues making 900 kcal/day if you don't cheat.
Total opposite for me. When you cut calories that low for any length of time everything becomes delicious, even plain chicken breast and salad
>>
>>77454102
pretty sure lyle's PSMF includes weekly carb refeedings to prevent this.
>>
>>77454174
I don’t track but I basically eat like a medieval lord: beef, lamb, wild game, trout, wheat bread, hard cheese, cooked fruit, jellies, and jams. I basically only eat vegetables for herbs and flavor. This is what my ancestors would want for me.
>>
What about gallstones?
>>
>>77454768

The based diet:

Over easy eggs and sourdough toast for breakfast. Bread is dipped in egg yolk and hot sauce mixture so no butter or extra fats. Seasonings are allowed on eggs. Add one yogurt.

Lunch and dinner is chicken and rice. Add hot sauce and seasonings.

I’ll often have cheese and yogurt throughout the day depending on portions.

Life is good. Macros are good. Godspeed.

>Macros are good
Wrong, you're malnourished. None of your macros or micros are on point.
>Muh supps multivitamins etc
Useless

Nope you're miserable

>lose 4-7lbs of fat and 10-20lbs of weight in two weeks
So 3 to 16lbs of weight coming from elsewhere, and no prizes for guessing.

You're still a skinnyfat mess though

My ancestors are smiling at me imperial. Can you say the same?
>>
>>77455771
That’s not the kind of diet that causes gout. Gout is caused by alcohol, junk food, and high purine foods, of which there are only a couple on the list and they’re presumably not eaten enough to cause gout. Do you have any idea how much trout you’d have to eat to get gout from it?
>>
>>77454125

Biggest faggotry, if you get the electrolytes right in both cases you end up with 0 appetite after a few days. Ketones are extremely appetite suppressant, that's why ketofaggots swear by their diet. I've done both fasting and rfl extended, my fasting record is 6 days, on rfl I usually go a week and then do a refeed maintenance day. On rfl I have more energy, I can maintain weights easily and my mood is better. Downside is your dick stops working after a week or so due to test crashing to hypogonadal levels.

Still best diet, you reach your goal weight quickly and get on with your life. If you worried about muh hormones just fucking take a week off after a month or so

i think this is a good thread to ask this. without special scales and measurements for bf%, how do you know if the weight you lost is actually fat vs water?
i've been fasting for longer periods during the day, like breaking my dast around 4-5pm, and generally walking a lot more and being more active. in a single day, it showsa that i "lost" 4lbs which is absurd, but its likely more because im dehydrated. so im trying to gauge what my really weight loss is actually
>>
>>77456890
Short term stuff doesn't matter, just track it over the long term. The slope of your best fit line will indicate how quickly you're actually losing fat.
>>
>>77456702
It is literally physically impossible to experience a blood sugar crash and cortisol spike on this diet so you are completely full of shit. If you don’t feel anything there is something wrong with you.
>>
>>77454147
reminder to post your body
>>
>>77456890
track a 7 day average and weigh yourself in the morning after peeing. after the first days most you can tell how fast you're losing fat. Also when you get leaner it's visually obvious
>>
>>77456890
It’s not possible to just watch the scale drop and lose exclusively water. If the scale is consistently going down week by week, you’re losing fat.
