The real test of cardio.
i've been wanting one of these for a long time but i'm broke. rowing is the only fun exercise for me.
>>77458823Rowing is only fun if you do it every once in a while. I had a rower and it was a real boring chore after a while and sold it. It must suck to be poor, my condolences.
>>77458825I never get sick of it. One of these days I'll find a really good deal on Facebook Marketplace and I'll row every day.
>>77458760Finally someone posts my thread.
>>77458833Wow, what kind of schedule was that for 2 years?
>>77458760ImIf I had to go back in time I wouldn’t have gotten a c2 rower and would’ve invested in an assault bike instead.
>>77458823Look up diy ones by cannablizing a bike and some 2x4s, looks like a fun project. You can even use a bike computer to get stats like speed/distance.
>>77458827Well good thing is nearly new c2s are available all the time for $6-700 from people who give it up after somehow convincing themselves to spend $1000 on them.Never understood that, but God bless those retards.
>>77459104People spend far more than that on average on new treadmills and end up barely ever using them.
>>77459182True, but treadmill is kind of the default normie's idea of cardio equipment. Going the rower route requires a bit more knowledge and commitment. A lot more actually.
>>77458843I was trying to do a 10k each morning at 5am . I was successful about 4 days a week. I also did three HM. Now i have two kids and don't much exercise...
>>77458760>highly technical movement>real test of cardiothis one mogs rowers so hard it's not even funny
>>77459320>t. can't drive properly on the ergIt's okay, there's a lot of people (losers) like you, you're in good company.
>>77458833>>77458843>2027wut
>>77460435Concept2 seasonal year starts in May. I guess because of competition schedules.
>>77458760I bought a concept 2 a few years ago. Was about 1k if I recall. I use it every week for 30 minutes. Rogue makes a copycat for a little less. Concept 2 has more part availability but if you are using them for a home gym, both will outlast you, i'm sure. Not a lot of complexity to them.
>>77458760I got a ghetto row machine attachment for my squat cage, gotta sit on the ground. Low-key sux
The real test of cardio
>>77462679Hockey?
>>77462679lol
>>77462715He used other exercises as well to make him a better boxer. Rowing was supplemental to boxing, but it was all in service of lasting longer in the ring, the hardest form of cardio.
its great even better when you can find them for cheap on fb marketplace and resell them for close to retail price
>>77458760Rowing is fake cardio, that's why the 100M record was broken by a fat powerlifter (Shaw)
>>77463410>cardio>100M recordnigga u gay
>>77458760>stationary rowerlmfao, retardimagine not using a dynamic like an rp3 or being on waterfucking hate all you gen alpha larping faggots
>>77458825I'd say it's the opposite. It's only fun if do it all the time so you can actually get good. The fun comes from seeing the progress. Just slopping around at 2 min pace once a week would be boring for me.
>>77463410get on a dynamic (an actual, not a larper) rower and do a 2k test. have a puke bucket next to you.t. ex-ivy rower, see you at head of the charles niggaa lot of those indoor "records" are on faggot stationaries that work different muscles and allow "cheating" of form that would never work on water. they also destroy your lumbar vertebrae.
>>77458833>>77458843He rowed so hard he went to the future
>>77458760How long are you supposed to row for it to matter?
>>77458760Rowing machines are a meme. I got one of these and I regret it. I wish I bought a bike or elliptical.
>>77465491you problemnot a rowing problem
>>77458760>could easily do 30 min rowing sessions for cardio>forced to avoid sitting for 2 months after ass surgery>try to row again>gassed after 5 minutesIt's over.
>>77465913>could easily do 30 min rowing sessions for cardioBruh, 30 mins is a warmup.
>>77464017>>77464030>>77466411Among all cardio options, rowers are by far the most insufferable pretentious retards.
>>77458833>>77458843Well shit. This is depressing. Winter can’t come soon enough so I can put in some sessions.
>>77467712you tell em
I bought one second hand, and it didn't come with the power cable. I bought a cable, and the screen was fucked. I tried repairing it to no avail. Unfortunately the screen was also needed to adjust the resistance, so mine is just stuck on one setting and I can't monitor anything. I don't find it fun, and I think it's purely because I can't accurately beat any records.
If any of you use one of these you might want to take advantage of the paddling strength it gives you when surfing. I havent been able to think of a way I can improve paddling strength, endurance etc, outside of swimming itself. I actually see tons of old guys running rings around me in the surf (I get gassed out). I havent tried doing hiit though (exercise bike).
>>774677671. You're an idiot.2. They can all be repaired easily and fairly cheaply. Unless you're an idiot.
i need to switch to this - i love running but my right ankle is not handling it well. i'm tight on space, is there a rower that collapses into a thing that you can put away and that isn't built like shit?
>>77468511The concept2 rowerg is designed to stand upright. You can also break it half, but that's rarely necessary.
>>77468511>>77458760
>>77458760rowing requires so much technique that there's no point in getting a rowing machine unless you're an actual rower, and you should probably be a competitive one at that.
>>77458760Mogged by Assault Bike for HIITMogged by Incline Walking for LISSYou aren't fooling anyone here, Concept2 shill
>>77458760Useless. I tried rowing for a few months and I never got tired. I watched videos about proper form, I tried different settings and speeds and ....nothing. Never even made me winded after a half hour. Granted I was already in good shape but what a disappointment. Riding a bike or even just walking at a fast pace make for a better workout.
>>77468511this will be worse if im being honest with you
>>77464030what is a good rowing machine europoor could buy? I see so many words and no rowing machine models or brands namedI am too autistic to do cardio outside
>>77470663>what is a good rowing machine europoor could buy?i've got a Christopeit WP 5000 which I mainly got for the looks (I just like wood), also a very good rowing machinelooked at the Decathlon one alternatively, i think the "domyos 500B", which felt pretty good as wellthe cheaper decathlon one is shit thoughtested the augletics one in a storewhich I actually liked over the concept2 (which my gym has)made in germany and expensive, if I had more money I'd get this one
>>77469465>and I never got tiredjust row faster idiot
>>77469413>cycling requires so much technique that there's no point in getting a bicycle unless you're an actual cyclist, and you should probably be a competitive one at that.the absolute state of this board.
>>77458760based
>>77462679>that one faggot that thinks he's hard by using the heavy bag in a gymI bet you're the kind of fag who shadow boxes in between sets too
>>77467712nah, cyclists by far
>>77469434fat post
>>77458760Frankmaxxing I see
>>77462679Boxing is so goddamn exhausting
>>77470702You think I didn't try that? It's a meme exercise for crossfit morons>>77470947This is the damn truth. 15 minutes with a punching bag is more exhausting than an hour on a rowing machine
>>77470915Not what was said faggot
>>77458760I tried to use one but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right because it didn't feel like I was getting the resistance I thought I should get
>>77470701Thanks
>>77458760And the ultimate filter of /fit/ it looks like.
>>77458760treadmill mogs it.
>>77470548why? i thought it's easier on the joints due to less impact
