Are deep tissue massages the ultimative fix for chronic back pain? I feel like my masseuse fixed a pinched nerve, when she was standing on my back.

Why do therapeutic massages always have an Asian origin?

No. I work as a masseur and can assure you, it is only a short timed solution. It can help you adopt a better posture and prevent injuries from happening but won't do shit on it's own besides helping you relax for a couple of hours.

But I only went two times in my entire life and she permanently fixed me. For years now I didn't have any problems with my lower back. Or at least nothing that comes close to what I had before. Like she somehow unpinched my nerve or whatever she did had some permanent effect.

Good for you. Maybe that's what you needed to fix your back. In most cases, however, deep tissue massage are not magic. Some people need frequent sessions to release their their pent up stress just like how they need time to develop strength when going to the gym. Meditation, lifting weights, stretching, getting a massage, eating properly, sleeping well, having a social life (playing, working and feeling fulfilled), taking showers and brushing your teeth are all important to have a good life

>ends with brushing your teeth regularly
I went to the second session too soon. I felt kinda beat up afterwards. Maybe that is what enabled a healing process.

>>77462834
More like to massage me with her feet. But not actually. It was more of a traditional thai massage. Her going on my back or sitting on my butt with her knees was just one many sequences she went through.

>I felt kinda beat up afterwards.
Deep tissue massage can be hard on the body. It is recommended to not do Physical activity the after a session.
>>
Chronic muscle tightness can affect your daily movement patterns which can cause or aggrevate injuries over time.

asians believe that they can fix anything by messing around with body parts and sometimes that has to be a penis

It's pathology-dependent. For minor stuff a lot of times yes but no for more serious structural issues like prolapsed/crushed discs/nerves where u might to risk paralysis with (((Luigi Surgery Q))).

I get a sports massage done every other month. I get told by morons that I'm wasting money, yet I haven't had to take any time off from the gym due to strain or other issues, unlike said morons.
PRO TIP: Find a massage therapist who is also an athlete / martial artist / lifter themselves.
>>
>>77462603
No. You want lymphatic drainage massages. You dont want strong massages for DOMS - those will hurt recovery. You want soft touch massages
>>
>>77464432
I would do this too if my insurance paid for it. I can't justify the cost right now. However my insurance DOES cover chiropractic which is retarded but it's about 50% as good as a massage.
>>
I got a deep tissue massage once, it hurt kinda but it also started feeling good, specially in the back of the thigh and the calves. I knew it was good for me, but it also gave me a hard on and the girl giving massages started crying when she saw my boner. I got pressed by the male staff and I had to pretend I was autistic so they would let me go without calling the cops. I'm never doing it again.
>>
>>77464849
>started crying when she saw my boner
be honest anon
what did you do
>>
>>77464849
Larp. It happens to them 20 times a day. They would think something was wrong if there was no boner
>>
>>77465088
>He's not a masseuse's first boner

Not sure about any sort of fix for chronic pain, it sounds like doctors dont really know either.
All I know is that any sort of pain I had anywhere on my body where it limited movement was always fixed by strengthening the muscles. I used to have neck pain that I thought was due to my pillow and mattress, I did neck exercises for a month and all of the pain went away. Got full range of motion back in my neck.
>>
I once got a massive boner when my physio put some young female intern giving me a hand/wrist massage.
No way I would survive a massage.
>>
>>77465542
Why wouldn't you want a young slut to see your massive boner?
>>
>>77463128
handjobs? you mean her standing on top of you and giving you a sloppy, lotiony footjob right?
>>
>>77465542
Same here, I was getting PT for an impinged rotator cuff and an intern was helping me stretch. It hurt and felt good at the same time and I got crazy hard while she whispered in my ear.
>"Does this hurt?"
>"No." (It hurt like crazy)
>"This?"
>"No" (It hurt like crazy)
>"Wow, you must have crazy pain tolerance, do you play sports?"
>"Yes, football" (lies)
>"Wow"

So is this like a thing now where you're going to post threads every couple of days slowly telling some weird story
>>
>>77462834
Y-yeah that's totes gross, amirite? I mean her feet... touching and rubbing all over your naked skin. I can't believe someone would like that. Not me! Especially if she was wearing something like this
>>77462993
That would be so horrible!
>>
>>77462603
It fixed me. Felt a pop and went weak in knees while vacuuming. Could barely get out of bed and of toilet. Screaming in pain. Chiro visits x 4 did nothing. Primary care doc gave me Flexeril and prednisone, which made me feel better for a week or so, but pain came right back when I stopped taking pills. Dealt with it for weeks. Finally got a deep tissue massage. I walked in with my pain level at a 6. She beat me up pretty abd for about one hour. Elbow grinding, mashing, smashing my back, shoulders and legs. I wlaked out an hour later wqith ZERO pain and iot never returned. Its been over a month now and the opain has NOT come back.

I lost some strenght being so debilitated for so long, but I am back to lifting (squats and diddies, too) normally now, just with less top end strength.

That one massage absolutely fixed/cured whatever was causing the pain. Obviously not a disc or a vertebra and I didn't have any radiating/shooting pain, so it must have been something muscular. Whatever. She fixed it.
>>
>>77467268
back spasm, very common and unfortunately misdiagnosed as disc issues or other real injuries. The fix to back spasms is either a massage like you found or literally ignore it and lift (light) anyway theough full range of motion and it'll relax away. Once you discover that particular pain doesn't correspond to physical damage it's mentally easier to work through.
>>
>>77467268
>>77467384
Track your electrolytes for a while. Anybody who lifts needs to supplement potassium and magnesium and possibly sodium especially if you typically cook your own food.
>>
>>77467416
>potassium and magnesium and possibly sodium
The best thing to get these three things is to buy good mineral water.
>>
>>77468866
no, walnuts and orange juice and red meat
>>
>>77468944
Okay, by best I mean the easiest and most continent way. Just switching up your water to something with more minerals is something you don't have to think about a lot.
>walnuts
not ray peat conform
>>
>>77470463
>easiest and most continent way.
also wrong, just buy the salts and add them to whatever you want
>>
>>77470911
I am so angry with you. How the fuck is meticulously adding salt to each serving of water easier than just opening a water bottle?
>>
>>77470917
water bottles are a meme

>>77463285
who is this lass, anon. i wanna have my benis stepped on

Chiropractor is a scam. Just a temporary fix every time. You probably know somebody that swears by their chiropractor, but has also been going to the chiropractor EVERY WEEK for the last decade.
>>
>>77471649
A good chiropractor is basically just a physical therapist that uses the chiro name to attract boomers. Stop listening to Joe Rogan.
