Getting and staying sober is /fit/ right? I’ve been trolling this AA meeting IRL by countering the groupthink shit the old heads talk about and agree amongst each other every single day. I’ve been sober 5 years and I’m sure these oldfags think I’m going to relapse any day now. I go about twice a month to do this.>hurr durr I micromanaged all my coworkers and children while wasted and drinking on the job and now I turn it over to God and don’t try to run the whole show>My children still won’t talk to me but that’s ok because I told them I was sorry and now it’s on them>You must agree that you tried to run the whole show or you’ll never be sober>You have to get sober my way
Alcohol fucking sucks, it makes you feel all pukey and nauseous
If you drink till you get blackout drunk you got some serious demons my dude.
>>77468941I was trying to escape the absolute hell I was living in while my wife developed severe schizophrenia
While you did that you were being a piece of shit schizo to everyone else you fucking schizo. You made life miserable for everyone around umyou you piece of shit
>>77468982For >>77468948
Since we are having this conversation publicly maybe the sherrif department you work for should give you a mental health evaluation, i cant imagine being in a prison daily is good for your psyche
>>77468982I’m not sure how drinking alone in my basement while my wife was refusing to take antipsychotics and if I didn’t let her stay in the house she would have been on the street because her family was done with her makes me a schizophrenic piece of shit to everyone. But ok bud. I’m sorry your drunk dad molested you when you were 8 years old.
Nice projection is that why you drink in the first place? Now that you admit it you should go to a behavious therapist or something idk
>>77469019You’re the one projecting. Nice gaslighting.
>>77469024^alcoholic cope^Lmao go drink if it makes you feel a certain type of way then
>>77469031Oldfag detected. Have fun rambling for 20 minutes during an hour meeting with 25 people repeating yourself over and over and bitch about your sponsees in front of them because you like feeling morally superior to them
>>77469062are you ok bro, calm down im just trying to help you.
>>77468892> apologized so now it's on my children to forgive meThat's literally how it works. The punishment for being an edge lord is that you have to live as an edge lord and look at the world through the lens of an edge lord.
>>77469031>>77469019What is your native language?
>>77469304German
>>77468892Also sober for almost 5 years here, and yeah, AA is a cult that doesn't help most people. It's a revolving door, really.
>>77469733It helped initially but I think I’ve outgrown it. I probably should just stop going. But then the only adults I’ll talk to is 2 coworkers, cashiers, and frogposters. I need to make friends but don’t know how. I am the only parent for my child since the mom isn’t allowed any contact. Not even phone calls. So that kind of limits most adult activities.
>>77468948>had sex>living in helllol
>>77469853I’d rather be a khhv that woman cost me a lot of money and sanity. The more you have, the more they will take.
.
I drank the vodka
>>77468892im glad i dont have these problemsstraight edge for life
>>77468892>Getting and staying sober is /fit/ right? No, it's a baseline for being a functional adult. I am happy you managed to get your shit together, but don't expect any further praise for being sober, this is how normal people are all the time. Now shut the fuck up about it and actually do something above the baseline that's brag worthy.

>>77468892>turn it over to GodWhy are recovering alcoholics all like this?
>>77470936The concept of a “higher power” is integral to all 12 step programs. 12 steps is basically religion in a disguise.
>>77470949It just sounds like shirking responsibility for actions.
>>77470951It is. I grew up with addicts, was an addict for a while, it wasn't until I got past dumbass 12 step programs that I finally stayed sober. AA/NA is a system for addicts by addicts with built in relapse acceptance. Until you mature enough to realize that in order to stay sober forever you must accept full responsibility forever and knock off this pussy ass passing the buck to a higher power bullshit. It's a fucking built in "it's ok if you fuck up, just forgive yourself and give it to to God" plus a community that continues to support you no matter how often you fuck up.>>77469820>I need to make friendsDo you really?
>>77468892Sometimes life just calls for a party gallon you know?
>>77468892M8 a lot of ego in alcoholics. The aspect of surrender is important to accept at the end of the day we are powerless over people, places and things (what often drove us to drink). At the end of the day all we can control is ourselves, and should be touch booze again, even that's not possible. I'm glad you're sober but the other people you are mocking are trying to achieve what's called emotional sobriety - they don't want the addict brain to steer them as it has done before.Peace be with you brother
>>77471123You know that makes a lot of sense. “Giving it to God” is a way to still hold on to some power because you’re “letting” God take over. Just realizing powerlessness and accepting it and not letting it make you spiral out of what little control you do have is based.
>>77471038>do you really?Fair point. I’ve let a lot of people in my life that did me bad. Mark Twain said something like “the difference between a man and a dog is if you bring a dog in off the street and feed it, it won’t bite you”.
I've been sober for almost 6 years. I've recently thought about going to AA meetings just to listen. Would it be worth it?
>>77471780No it's not. Giving it to god is passing responsibility for your actions to someone else that may or may not even exist. Oh no, sucks that the it's raining, what are ya gonna do? Asshole, your alcohol addiction is not an unavoidable force of nature. Grow the fuck up and manage your own shit.
>>77471780>Rejecting personal agency and shirking responsibility for your own actions is "based"
Today I relapsed on alcohol. 5 months sober prior. What triggered me was discovering photos of my dead mother. Last week, it was meth. Method is weird, unlike ADHD medication it makes me dysphoric which wants me to take more and more... Crazy stuff. Anyway, love you all.
>>77472544Just get back on the wagon bro, it happens.
>>77472547Not tonight my fren, not tonight. But tomorrow is a new day.
>>77472576Ok
>>77472584I'm back on the wagon.
>>77472966Ok
!!!
Get help you desperately need it
You have major demons and take it out on others in the form of a joke but you have yet to realize you are mentally ill and the joke
>>77473304/thread
AA is super gay but there's a value to hearing other people talk about how bad they fucked up their own lives with drinking, helps you be more honest with yourself about the situation you created for yourself.Im five years sober and never twelve stepped and only did meetings while I was still fucking up constantly but I did get value out of the meetings
>>77468892 I only ever saw God while drunk so desu I think alcohol is the Answer. This is why Catholics drink
?
>>77473328I attended an AA meeting in support of a friend and ended up reevaluating my relationship with booze. I never really had a problem but the more I thought about it, the less alcohol I want around. I'll still have a beer or two once in a while but I realize how much of a hindrance the liquid Jew is to my life and gains
>>77468982I'm guessing your dad was an alcoholic Anon?
>>77470936>>77470949Yep, it's why AA doesn't really exist outside of the USA, it depends on America's fringe form of christianity. The Nordics have a medical treatment for alcoholism thats data driven and validated by review as opposed to AA's "Trust me bro" approach to recovery rates.
>>77468982Based alcohol-abuser hater
>>77470936Can’t accept personal responsibility for their actions
>>77473501Lol no, but you are thats why you are deflecting
>>77473513Hardly, I'm not even what an American would consider an alcoholic and you lot throw that around real easy. It's been like 7 years since I last had a drink, just don't really see the appeal.
>>77473520Based you are alright
>>77468892>and now it’s on themFucking drunks. You're such a piece of shit.
>>77471789Why not, what do you have to lose
Never been to a meeting. I can see why it'd be helpful to openly discuss the problem and motivations behind drinking from all sorts of people. I bet even the simplistic "I drink when I'm bored" rationale has deeper meaning behind it.

>>77468892This doesn't read like something written by a sober person
>>77470949The higher power stuff that comes from cuck religions is gay, but in order to stay sober you do need to have a higher purpose. The reason we drink is because it feels good and there is no good reason not to drink. The way you stay away is by committing yourself to something more important. You have to have goals in life that amount to more than getting drunk and feeling good.
