I'm a fat piece of shit and I hate myself, but I got inspired and I'm ready to finally make a change in my life, I bought a dumbbell set from Walmart to get started and I figure I'll start going to an actual gym when I get into the groove of things.
I have no idea what I'm doing though, I don't know how many sets of reps I should do, or what weight I should start with, so I figured I'd just start with one set of one rep of one pound, and just double it each day.
I'm on day 5 and it's going pretty well.

just google a set and stick to it. Dont change the shit you do every other week. Do the same shit for atleast a year and if you dont like the progress you have made within that time change something. Its not that hard. The biggest mistakes new people do is changing what they are doing all the time because MrYoutubeGigaFaggot who want to sell you his personal wheyslop tells you that X excercise is 2% better.
Its really not that hard. push heavy things up and do it frequently over a long period of time. You look for quick solutions you have already lost.

You should get a bench, with a bench and dumbbells that go up progressively from 2/4kg up to early 10s you can do quite a bit of exercises.

Personally I got customizable ones to go up to 24 and I still use em at home sometimes

Do SL5x5 from the sticky for about 3 months then switch to an intermediate program when you start needing more time to recover (IE you start getting minor pulls).
>>

Most people start with 3 sets of 10 adding 5lbs a week and then get more dialed in later. You shouldnt have the same workout more than 6 times. If you stallout switch your training/nutrition/sleep.

Here you go anon

All u need to remember is: stay on the path and know that there is NO end goal you are there for the enjoyment of the movement itself if you can do it for no reason you will have unlimited motivation it's a subtle and difficult place to get to but the key is to have a fantasy of completion aka a goal but know that it won't fulfill you and it's just an engine to push you forward but at the same time enjoy it and shoot for it. It's paradoxical

I was hoping you guys would realize that if I did my routine for an entire month I would be doing 1,073,741,824 sets of 1,073,741,824 reps of 1,073,741,824 pounds...
That was the joke...

>how many sets of reps
3 sets is pretty much a safe bet.
For reps: for most exercises stick to the 8-15 range. Use weights heavy enough that you can only do 8 clean reps, then try to increase that number every session until you eventually get to 15 clean reps with good form. Then increase the weights by the smallest possible increment and repeat. Keep doing this until you squat planets.

This is an opportunity for the board to improve.
Please tell us exactly why you didn't read the sticky, and why you didn't lurk moar and solve this with the search engine of your choice?

Just bee you're self :)

Good.
And if you ever get demotivated, just remember that for every rep you do, that's one rep more than the rest of the lazy fat cunts who will die of cardiac arrest, making you a better human than they are.
>>
>>77471922
This is wrong. You should stick to a routine for 3 months minimum. Consistency is required. Wtf is this dont do the same workout more than 6 times bullshit? KYS jeet.

>bench
Any recommendations for this? Do you just need something solid to lay down / rest hands/ knees on with proper posture or something more functional?
I've just messed around with the few weights I got in my office chair so far...

My local Lidl had some 55lb select-a-weight dumbbells for like $90 a pop. Cheap temu tier shit, but they work. Might be worth checking it out if you have one in your area.

You're not advanced enough in your lifting career to get it. One day you will. Consistency IS key but you have to HAVE TO have variation
>>
>>77475155
You need something that will hold your weight plus the weights you use and that can incline/decline.
>>77475469
That just means doing variant movements you dummy. You can do an AB type split. You are JEET

cute. now come back in a year and let us know how it goes. 90% newbies give up around 1-2 months
