>decide I want to try and do 5K
>manage to get it done in an hour
>look at good 5K times
>30 minutes
Jesus Christ. How the fuck am I supposed to double my pace?

Competitive 5k times for high schoolers are sub 18 minutes.
“Good” as in you’re better than a 19 year old foid is sub 25 minutes.

You're supposed to run? 5km in an hour is a nice steady walking pace, you went on a little walk, most healthy retirees go on hour-long walks several times a week. Do you even try? How fat are you?
>>
>>77472741
I'm very fat. About 95kg, probably 30-35% bf
>>
>>77472751
So just be patient and keep getting reps in why are you complaining that you're slow
>>
>>77472751
Keep doin the 5k but since you're fat, you shouldn't push yourself to run faster than a jog because it's very high impact for fat people and very hard on your joints, instead wear a backpack with like 10% of your body weight in it.
>>

30 minutes is not a good 5k time, 30 minutes is a "I'm a fat fuck and this is my first ever 5k" time. 1 hour is abhorrently bad. I'm pretty sure that's slower than a literal walking pace.

what did your training look like? Or did you just decide on a whim one day.. if it's the second, then get a training routine going
>>
>>77472706
learn correct cadence and correct running form (mostly glute/ham/knee flexion hip extension propelled, foot lands under hips, increase stroke frequency not force of push off)

get a running cadence app and google form
>>
Good runners are very light and efficient.
>>
Good on you for getting it done man, that’s an accomplishment. Heres the fun part, if you run consistently, youll see that time improve dramatically. If you lose weight, youll see it improve even faster. Dont compare to other peoples times, just keep trying to beat your last run. See just how far you can take it brother, youll surprise yourself and you wont believe how good it will feel

>fatty prediction
>likely 40-50%
Fatties can’t count calories, they sure as shit can’t estimate body fat %.
>>

I know a guy who does it sub-15. He doesn’t lift, just frickin roons
>>
>>77475188
what does he look like
>>
>>77472751
youll for sure be able to do it in 3 years if you try at least 2x a week, dont be scared to take walk breaks and use the elliptical trainer or stationary or regular bicycle (or rower if u have access] if u feel shin foot knee ankle or hip pain or tightness

i thought cyclists were obnoxious but rooners manage to be just as cancerous and pretentious

You should watch them run in their little running gears. Was passed by one of these twinks recently and he had the faggiest little running style. Still don't get the appeal. If you wanna go out in nature and stay healthy, why not buy a bike? Running is literally redundant, unless you're doing sprints or uphill runs for good leg strength/conditioning.

Even when fat that should be a walking pace.
Reduce calories, lift some weight and do more walking and jogging.
