Is working out ever supposed to become enjoyable?
I try my best to stick to a routine but it's so hard, working out genuinely makes me want to kill myself, my quality of life has been in the shitter since I've started doing it, I had to give up every other pleasurable activity in my life to find the time to do it and all I get from it is fatigue, pain and misery
Please someone help me make this make sense because I genuinely just want to give up at this point
>>
>>77474732
Muscle is struggle tissue
Fat is pleasure tissue
>>
>>77474737
But how do I stick with this if I don't actually give a fuck about muscle
I'm just doing this because my doctor insisted I had to for the sake of my health but I don't see the point in living longer if I don't get to use my time for anything other than maintenance
>>
>>77474732
If you hate it so much, just reach a decent shape and maintain it with quick workouts. Maybe even at home, to avoid wasting time on going to gym and back.
>>
>>77474732
The results become addictive and doing it becomes routine. I think the only people that enjoy it are the people that play a sport or an active hobby.
>>
>>77474782
That's pretty much the issue, I don't play sports or really care that much about the results so I don't have any kind of goal that makes this shit worth it, it's just a very time consuming, painful and exhausting chore
>>
>>77474749
You won’t stick to it.
>>
>>77474749
Simply find an exercise program that you enjoy doing.
>>
>>77474732
you shouldn't work out if you genuinely don't enjoy it
i look forward to my hours in the gym
>>
>>77474732
Even if you don't know what you're doing, you could always get a job as a /fit/ photo model for shutter stock.
>>
>>77474732
thats because you starve yourself like a dumb faggot and do difficult workouts that you neither have the energy or stamina for

eat more and do easier exercises you actually enjoy dumb fat faggot
>>
>>77474875
It's not the program that's the issue, I have constant low energy and lethargic due to poor sleep (chronic stress and severe tinnitus) so any kind of significant physical exertion is torturous for me
>>
>>77474899
What about power walking?

It's always enjoyable if you have the right attitude.
(which you do not)
>>
>>77475051
No shit, the question is how to make it work if you don't have the right attitude for exercise.
>>
>>77475063
You say "no shit" but seem to miss the point of the picture.
Think back to when you were a kid on the playground, and running and jumping and climbing around were fun activities you were doing for the sheer joy of it.
Why can't you tap into those feelings now as an adult and learn to enjoy doing essentially the same thing?
>b-but HOW do I do that
Nigger that's up to you to figure out, no one can do it for you. Ask yourself why you have developed such an aversion to exercise to begin with and take it from there.
>if you don't have the right attitude
No fucking shit asshole, the whole point is you're supposed to develop the right attitude instead of just carrying on forever with the shitty one you have. Yes, it requires introspection, effort, and soul-searching.
That's the point.
>>
>>77474732
Try different stuff.
For me powershitter/bodybuilding stuff was boring so i would end up skipping days half-intentionally.
Tried kettlebells and i havent missed a single day of lifting in the last 2 years.
>>
>>77475084
>Think back to when you were a kid on the playground, and running and jumping and climbing around were fun activities you were doing for the sheer joy of it.
What makes you think they were?
>>
>>77475091
>jokes on you, I actually had a pissy bad attitude even when I was a little kid!
Uh...congrats then?

I suffered through literal years of squatting 3 times a week because some truck driver looking ass put it in a book and I fucking hate squatting.

Then one day I realized I'm an adult and there is no gym police that will arrest me if I stopped squatting. So I stopped doing all the things I hate and designed all my workouts for fun shit.

Now I can't wait to go to the gym every single week.
>>
>>77475096
It's not like I'm proud of it or anything, it's just that I can't ask myself when I "developed" an aversion that has always existed
>>
>>77474732
Don't think about making it fun. Do it like you brush you teeth. It's just body maintanance that you do every day. It'll beome a habit and something that you just do
>>
I have insomnia. Running helps me sleep. So in a weird roundabout way I like running because I like sleeping.
>>
>>77475107
>Do it like you brush you teeth
I always hated this argument because the amount of time and effort these activities require is vastly different
One is a non issue while the other requires making substantial sacrifices in your life
>>
>>77475109
No? A pullup bar, some pushups, and some lunges are almost no cost and can be done at home. You can do just one of these a day and still hit all of them x2 a week
>>
>>77474732
>waa I'm sad I have to go to work every day because I'm tired
>waa I'm sad I have to do my laundry I don't want to
>waa I'm sad I have to move my body 3 hours a week

grow up
>>
The minimum you need to do that will still result in decent gains and massively improved fitness is two intense 1 hour sessions a week. That's it. If that's too much you're a weak bitch.
>>
>>77474749
your grave is calling you, go lie down in it
>>
>>77475109
>while the other requires making substantial sacrifices in your life
Such as?
>>
>>77475152
1-2 hours of your day 4-5 times per week if you want actual results
>>
>>77474732
lemme guess, you do some kind of 15 sets per muscle bullshit.

This is exactly why he had so much success with clients. Fun wins over optimal.
>>
>>77475233
Not being a fat/skinnyfat fuck is already actual results.
>>
>>77474732
It's enjoyable if you are a neet, rushing gym in the morning before work or after work in the evening is for turbo normies and extroverts.
>>
>>77475233
Are you dumb? This isn't some all or nothing being a body builder or being completely weak. It takes 10 minutes a day to do an exercise.
>>
>>77475233
actually it's more like 3/4 of an hour twice a week
>>
>>77474749
>because my doctor insisted I had to for the sake of my health

What kind of retarded doctor told you lifting weights is going to make you live longer? If you want to exercise for health then go outside and jog/walk or ride a bike for an hour.
>>
>>77475097
this. i was told do compounds; squat, deadlift, bench. use free weights they said. then one day i lost. i used the machines. i did isolation work. i did high rep work with lower weight.
>>
>>77475262
Some resistance training is good. Moderate muscle use to prevent injuries is always good and is overall good. Cardio is more important tho yeah
>>
>>77475233
1. You don't need nearly that much you fucking retard.
2. Even if you did, what exactly are you doing those 1-2 hours that are so important you couldn't give up?

lifting weights is cancer but sports are very very fun just find a sport you enjoy.
>>
>>77475288
There aren't many fun solo sports
>>
>>77475292
Rock climbing
>>
>>77475294
Never been to a climbing gym where I wouldn't get constantly harassed by others
>>
>>77475295
Why are you being harassed?
>>
>>77475296
People constantly trying to start conversations, make friends, etc, while I just want to be left the fuck alone
>>
>>77475305
Wear earbuds or something man. Or just say hi back. You gotta stop being a miserable cunt with an excuse to never do anything
>>
>>77475305
You're really not doing much to shake off those "bad attitude" accusations OP.
>>
It’s cause you’re fat. Lose the weight first via calorie deficit and ignore the gym till you’re at a weight where you can actually see results of your gym going. Lifting while being a fat fuck is a useless endeavor since you just feel like shit doing it and you see 0 product of your labor since everything is hidden under fat.
>>
>>77475317
I just want to get in there, get the work done and get the fuck out, the last thing I want is for someone to try and make this an opportunity to socialize
>>
>>77475321
>gym is SERIOUS BUSINESS, I'm there to CONQUER
>is still dyel
Many such cases.
>>
>>77474899
You're either a complete beginner running themselves to the ground by pushing too hard or you're doing way too many sets and you don't train close enough to failure. Learn what failure is and try to do sets close to it, it's ok if you need to cut volume in half.

Outside of the gym, eat and sleep properly, try electrolytes, I've been magnesium deficient ever since I was a kid, lots of weakness and mental illness was fixed by replenishing electrolytes.

If you've been a fat lazy fuck your entire life don't expect to be a vivid ripped fitness Chad after a month. Stop being a bitch, trust the process and results will follow. Took me a year to have decent fitness, half of that was a real struggle until I've seen things moving
>>
>>77475281
not necessarily in that order
>>
>>77475363
>sleep properly
I wish I could friend
>>
>>77475368

>>
>>77474732
just get some dumbells and lift at home or do some cardio outside. WTF kind of response are you looking for? If you don't like it don't whine to a bunch of meatheads
>>
>>77474732
You need goals that you want, that you see progress towards. You should do things that make it easy
>Is working out ever supposed to become enjoyable?
I hated other things enough that i always enjoy it and feel better afterwards because i make progress and see the progress its a game.
increase your test levels
you should try doing things for recovery
>>77475097
>because some truck driver looking ass
!
you have to think in terms of solutions not problems
>>
>>77475097
This
I just do lunges till I literally fall over when I have the energy, and hyperextensions when I don't. And ssb squats when I'm in the middle. Great leg/back growth. Squat probably increased too.
