>At the peak of his cigarette addiction he was smoking up to 6 packs a day
>and addicted to cocaine
>and a raging alcoholic
And now he's in his 80s and has already outlived most of /fit/s heroes. Is health a myth?

nice thread retard
>>
>>77475269
No, he seems he is in a pretty bad place psychologically and there are 95 year old babushkas all over eastern Europe slopping pigs who are in better shape than him.
>>
>>77475269
I find 6 packs hard to believe unless they were ultra low tar then yes. No way one can smoke more than 2 packs a day.
>>
>>77475309
You'd be surprised. Also consider his cocaine addiction, nigga was probably literally chain smoking nonstop (except to take a break to snort a fat rail).
>>
>>77475269
no but genetics are real
>>
>>77475269
His TDS is what really destroyed him. Dude admits he watches cable news 24/7, tweets about Trump continually, lives in an alt-reality for boomers where everything that isn’t ‘60s hippie liberalism is fascist.
>>
>>77475269
he's possessed by some horrific spirit that makes him write about child orgies and genital mutilation and take shots at his own people constantly, it will keep him a shambling corpse until he is used up and allowed to die

He's an extreme outlier on smoking volume especially to live to that age, but is probably going to die fairly soon from all that long-term damage and had the genetics to easily make 100 otherwise.

He publishes multiple books a year in his 80s I doubt he has time for that. But sure cope.

According to google he smoked 2 packs a day at the height of his addiction and had given up all drugs and cigarettes by 1989. As far as I can tell he's healthy-living ever since. He's also not even 80 yet. I hate when people state falsehoods to make their thread sound more dramatic, like 3x the amount of cigarettes come on - but even the "in his 80s"... he's not in his 80s, so why would you say it? For what purpose? Also I bet he would say he's healthy-living, does walking and shit now.

Lifting weights probably doesn't make you younger, probably doesn't help you live longer and it's questionable if you have a better later years. Supposedly there is credible evidence it can help you avoid neurological disease like dementia and maybe cancers. It's also better to be "big" in a world full of toxins, because you know how they always give toxicology in "per body weight"? Being a strong 220lbs rather than a 110lbs weakfag is going to help you avoid all the poisons we're exposed to daily. Your liver will be bigger, your blood flow bigger, everything being bigger makes toxins smaller, even fat people get this benefit to some degree.

But I wouldn't bet anything on older years being better due to a lot of heavy lifting at the gym when younger.

he still has an active mind and active lifestyle, he isn't retired and just vegging out. if you are lucky with a lack of genetic afflictions, that's the best thing for longevity.

>6 packs a day
I'm calling bullshit.
At my worst I had at most 3 packs a day and that was chain smoking while drinking.
6 packs a day he wouldve been lighting another before the last one was finished and continuously doing that from the moment he woke up to going to bed.
Im sure there may have been a day or days he smoked 6 packs but no fucking way that was a daily thing.

It is what Steven King turned his whole personality into. When's the last time he wore something that wasn't about Trump? I don't know because I don't have twitter anymore but I followed him for cool writing stuff and soon after he became a Trump reply guy.

How many cigs total is that and if you divide that by waking hours how many is he smoking per hour Lol

What most people think is healthy is an absolute myth, yes.

my theory is that there is a necrotic state your body can be in where it is acting less like a biological thing and more like a rock that doesn't deteriorate due to high cellular activity.
>>
>>77475269
The adverse effects of cigarettes, alcohol and especially cocaine are quite exaggerated. Especially if you're rich and have access to good healthcare. They're still harmful but you have to be a gigajunkie to kill yourself with day-to-day functioning abuse.

John Wayne smoked the same amount. You basically have to chainsmoke every waking minute to get on that level.
>>
>>77475309
I smoked 3 packs a day, unfiltered for nearly a decade. On weekends, when I was drinking and using coke to party for 40-70 hours straight, it was easy to double that. A carton per weekend was normal. I have a distinct memory of one of my friends pointing out that I'd smoked almost an entire pack while we were driving to a casino in the next state, without ever using a lighter, because I would just light the next stick off the butt before I tossed it. 6 packs a day as a real bad coke fiend is believable.

>Is health a myth?
No but what is considered healthy is mostly memes and fads that change every 10 years in accordance with societal trends. In the end it's about genetics and what works for you personally.
>>
>>77475308
>there are 95 year old babushkas all over eastern Europe
Slavs typically die in their 60s and 70s, pretty much the unhealthiest race and the last people one should take health advice from.
>>
I smoked for a few years but I feel kinda robbed cause I was never in a living situation where I could smoke at my computer desk, which is basically the comfiest fucking thing on the planet

This.
>but is probably going to die fairly soon from all that long-term damage and had the genetics to easily make 100 otherwise.
I don't think it works this way. I don't think it's a health bar where cigarettes chip it down. I really think it's a binary thing. Like either you're a lucky one and they do nothing, or you aren't. My great grandfather was a coal miner who smoked constantly. He lived to 97. His daughter, my grandmother, died at 69 from liver cancer. She smoked and popped pills her whole life.

not having to work and being able to sleep 16 hours a day for most of his life makes up for it
