Good afternoon, /fit/. I am proud to say I successfully did a shoulder press with 50lb dumbbells today. It wasn't easy but I got it! I was sadly not strong enough to do 55s. I will work hard and keep getting stronger!
>>77477325We’ll let me tell you something about George. He is fast. He can run like the wind. And he’s strong. I’ve seen him lift a hundred pounds over his head without even knowing it. And you wouldn’t know it to look at him, but George can bait a hook.

spam push ups, sit ups and squats to aliviate tension from posterior chain (muscles on your whole back) and lift more

>>77477325Shit bro, nice. I got to 54 myself a few months ago but I've stalled then. Right now I shifted into self rehab and posture and biomechanical correction and aim to get back on chasing hypertrophy next year. While I haven't progressed in muscle mass or weight at all coworkers and family have commented I look more muscular and I feel much better as a result of my intensive stretch focused program working on my pecs, my neck, my masseter mudcles, my hip flexors and lateral hip muscles. I got some advice from a ballet dancer too for some body awareness stuff. It isn't that big of a number compared to some elites but you are already more dedicated and fitter than 90% of the population. Also remember that there's a difference between being able to move a weight and being able to master, control and safely manipulate that weight. Numbers are a byproduct of what we chase not the actual goal!
>>77478606Keep up the good work anon. In my opinion the most important thing with lifting is staying healthy. Chasing numbers can always wait. And I won't be lifting 50s regularly, this was just for fun. I tend to start with 40 and do drop-sets down to 30s on my last set.
