>Eat multiple small meals per day to keep your metabolism activeHow true is this?
>>77477411From my experience: very true
>>77477411It's a good way for the food obsessed and the overweight to maintain their lifestyles, but that is the only real advantage. They should fight the fastards.

>>77477610people during the roman empire era were DYEL as fuck; in fact every person prior the year 1822 was an absolute dyela person from today going to the gym for 1.5 years looks leagues better than the mightiest of gladiators
>>77477411mechanistically it's retarded. Your metabolism is always active. However people who eat smaller meals thought the day tend to be less fat.
>>77477411Depends on how much what you eats spikes your insulin and how close the meals are
Its not at all true. Meal timing is one of the most retarded things people argue about in fitness. It doesnt matter. The only thing that matters is your psychology. If eating lots of small meals helps you stick to your diet then its good. If eating once per day helps you stick to your diet then its good.

>>77477646>mechanistically it's retarded. Your metabolism is always active. As a whole sure, but individual components of it, such as processing sugars or fatty acids, can have their respective genes/proteins up- or down-regulated by many environmental factors from diet and exercise to medications.
>>77477411Fasting is catabolic (takes a real genius to figure this out) so you want to avoid it if you have any sort of anabolic goals at all. It's true that fewer but bigger meals take longer to digest and thus they average out closer to more frequent meals, but knowing that excess dietary protein is NOT stored by the body it just makes more sense to have more frequent meals. Maybe not every 2 hours but 3-4 is good enough.Nutrition windows also exist but it's for glycogen. Immediate post-exercise glycogen reuptake is accelerated and more efficient so carbs after a workout does actually make a difference. This is pretty well known in endurance sports but a little less important with strength.Anyone mentioning insulin spikes is a diabetic fat fuck.

>>77477913There. It's not the greatest zeek but it's not bad either. And I eat like 3.5 meals on average. I was at my best with 5 meals a day but I can't be bothered with that anymore>>77477545>>77477910I'm surprised by the amount of misinformation in this thread. I thought it's common knowledge that eating fewer larger meals as opposesed to multiple smaller meals will slow down your metabolism. There's a reason why pro bodybuilders literally wake up at 3am to get a meal in. It's not just the calories. Chris Aceto (Jay Cutler's dietician) describes this in detail in one of his books
>>77477932>but knowing that excess dietary protein is NOT stored by the bodyhttps://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38118410/anon, you literally have the internet. use it.
>>77477411Its the lowest insulin highest test way to live assuming you eat enough fat, carbs and fiber
>>77477646Less likely to binge if you never get that big meal heroin high
>>77477951I don't think that study says what you think it does Mr. Retardo
>>77477951Their "anabolic response" is literally just protein synthesis Protein synthesis happens at a fixed rate in the body so eating more, if you can believe it, prolongs the process of digesting it I fucking hate midwits so fucking much it's unreal
>>77477961>>77477964did you miss the part where they produced an isotope-labelled milk protein, so they could trace exactly where in the body the ingested protein went and when?and did you miss the context and what we are discussing here? keep up.for the purposes of what we are discussing, there is no such thing as a useful protein per meal limit. so excess protein eaten, does in fact, get stored in the body and released/recycled whenever possible, either through natural "drip feed" of digestion itself or the continuously turning over pool of functional body proteins.there is no such thing as "excess protein" that gets "lost" after eating an "excess" on a daily basis.it's really not that complex.
>>77477943Respectable, good work anon
>>77477996Thank you. Appreciated
>>77477993You have misinterpreted this piece of research
>>77477943wrong faggot. Bodybuilders will eat 7 meals a day because its just the only way they can get down down the requisite calories. The meal timing has nothing to do with metabolism.
>>77477411It's how to eat a lot of carbs and fat but not get diabetes. Wouldn't say it's ideal for anything besides avoiding insulin spikes. Which is not trivial if you have diabetes or are close to it but it has very little to do with metabolism and more to do with chemical signaling.
