how come there's a stigma against these?

Great for strength and actual functionality. Not so great for hypertrophy (why most chuds lift). It's that shrimple!
>>
>>77477874
Because of the heavy correlation of skinnyfat idiots who use them.

It's a fine piece of equipment bit less versatile than a db but whatever your gtm probably has both unless it's some kind yoga/pilates fruit basket place.
>>
>>77477874
there isn't
they just have no value for 90% of people's training needs
>>
They won't do shit for any specific goal except training heart and lungs with long/intense enough sets.
>>
>>77477874
It's a gimmick.

I really dont know if this is a meme thread or not

Posterboy of a dyel's excuse for their 135lb bench by claiming they're focusing on "athleticism" (they don't play any sports). There is nothing inherently wrong with them, but people fetishize them rather than view them as a tool. Calisthenics dyels are the same exact way in that there is a practical purpose to exercise but then they go full retard and claim their push-ups make them "fighting fit" compared to the "fat" weightlifters, as if touching a conventional weight makes you fat by itself.
>>
They don’t work. They won’t make you stronger. They won’t make you more muscular. They won’t make you faster. They won’t make you leaner. They’re what conjugatefags consider GPP, the side dish of the real meat and potatoes basically and not a particularly enjoyable one.

>they're functional! they're functional! this skinny fat boomer who has never been recorded throwing a single basketball and fakes being a soviet said so!

Let's break that down because how the fuck are they more "functional" than some other weight implement?

The only exercise anyone ever does with these are kettlebell swings, which are hip flexions with a momentum assisted sagittal shoulder flexion (front raise). The load is too light for them to be effective at strengthening the hip flexion (largest muscle in the body by the way) and the momentum deemphasizes the shoulder flexion. There is also kettlebell clean and presses which are blatantly a meme since you could literally just clean and press a barbell. The planes of motion are exactly the same except the kettlebell is a little bitch weight which causes them to move the goalpost to "timed sets" as if you couldn't just do that with a barbell, or anything in general.

Let's consider what advantages they could potentially have. Not a lot because they're still a free weight, even if they're (only slightly) disjointed due to the handle. Free weights still only follow the rule that gravity goes straight down, so they function the same as dumbbells/barbells. Club/mace training puts the weight far from the body which opens up the possibility of 3D rotational shoulder swinging better than a chubby kettlebell could. This has some "functional" value that pure barbell/db/kb training doesn't have. Cable machines also put the resistance in front or behind you, which free-weights can't mimic. KBs offer nothing.

The only reason every gym has these is because of grifters who invent 2000 different types of strength in order to confuse people enough into blindly trusting whatever dumb bullshit they say (Pavel). For the people that understand the 5000 IQ observation that weight training is performing normal joint actions under load, you demystify the bullshit. Yeah, they "work" but are they special? Absolutely not.

>The planes of motion are exactly the same except the kettlebell is a little bitch weight
It's funny because every time says kettlebells are bitch weight they simultaneously whine about how "impractical" heavy bells are and can't do them. You're Mike Israel-tier. Shameful.
>>
they are amazing if you know what you are doing. they help work your rotator cuffs with ohp, full body workouts if you are poor, get ups. the russians mandated kettlebell workouts to every citizen.
>>

Those heavy kettlebell clean and presses look legit

>blind coping, possibly illiterate
You are bragging about deadlifting a single 45lb dumbbell where the handle is slightly off center and acting like this will make you able to kill a tiger with your bare hands. This is why you are weak as shit and will resort to calling me fat or whatever cope you're planning, which I already covered here >>77477985

"Functional fit" tards consistently prove they have no idea what "function" even is. The basic observation is that the largest and strongest muscle function in the body is the glutes powering hip flexion and that their mythical "exercises" like kettlebell swings are just that exact same movement. Instead of recognizing this, as any "functional" guru should, they just fall into cognitive dissonance.

There is a reason they're not physiotherapists, they're too stupid.

Because people use way too light of weight and use them as shitty cardio tools. They are really good but you gotta go heavy. Also the kettlebell "community" is full of uppity muh form faggots.

I like them. Although pretty much just the kettlebell clean and press which i prefer to the barbell clean and press (though really the kettlebell clean is more similar to the muscle clean) which i think is THE kettlebell exercise. ymmv. I have a home gym and I do a bit of barbell, bodyweight, kettlebells/clubs and some bodybuilding stuff. If anything the clubs slot in better to the more conventional stuff than kettlebells but that's another subject. the main issue with kettlebells is really the sheer amount of grift that goes on with them. they aren't magic. they are just a weight. also, the "minimalist" aspect is a selling point so people end up using the same weight. That's fine to a certain extent, you can increase volume or "density" but at some point you gotta up the weight. So now you have 2 pairs of bells, 3 pairs..etc That's not really a massive issue (money aside) as you can still store them much easier than a barbell, plates rack etc but I think people get thrown off here and there's a bit of a denial in the "community" as well as far as i can tell. For home gym stuff: its space and money. I do think the "meta" for space and money is a chin/dip set up, a belt, and some kettlebells. for a minimalist set up i would always recommend a pair of "heavy" kettlebells over some dumbbells. would i still use kettlebells if i was going to a proper gym with all barbells, machines etc? probably yeah but just less so.
>>
They Are convenient.
Clean and press, Front Squats, Pull ups, Ring dips, ab Roller and i have a Great workout i can do in 30 minutes at Home and have time for more important stuff like an actual Sport, work and Family.

Women use them en masse and women have cooties. You wouldn't do what a woman does, would you?
>But what about le heckin based woman who does [based machine]?
Irrelevant. This is about generalities, not exceptions.

They're basically worthless. Anything you can do with a kettlebell you can do with a dumbbell, so what's even the point?
>inb4 kettlebell swings
Good job, you did a low weight, high rep deadlift.

Best piece of equipment for people who want to get in shape at home with the least amount of bullshit possible.

You can work out your entire body with just 3-4 exercises in a short amount of time.
Great for people who want to be in shape without making their entire life about fitness.
Versatile. Can train cardio, strength, and explosiveness depending on weight and rep range.

The exercises are also fun and challenging and there's endless variety for whatever niche issue your body may need to fix w/ training.
I've seen some great before/after transformations all over the internet of people who've used them.
People who hate on them simply don't understand the massive value they provide.
>>
>>77477874
Bloated cardiolets hate them because it exposes their lack of cardio and althletism.
>>
>>77477874
Because skinnyfat dyels think a single 20lb kettleball is enough to function as a gym subscription or an entire home gym. It's embarrassing.
>>
>>77478821
kbs don't need balancing as much in the hand. com is below it and naturally self balances, a heavy db will start see-sawing.
this makes things like lunges or high pulls or rows much simpler.
>>
>>77478495
Fedor famously didn't like kettlebells and didn't use them, but the photographer for this pic arranged for him to stand near them to get a better shot
You could have suggest karelin, unlike fedor there actually is footage of him lifting kettlebells

>Russian Kettlebell
It's in the name.
>>
>>77477874
There isn't
They just were never really that popular (and that's a good thing)
Powerlards have crippled shoulder mobility so they can't use them
Normalfags get bored because the movements are too complex compared to just spamming machines
And then you have pretentious niggers like half this thread having some kind of tribal mentality against kettlebells and often missing the point (protip it is not a strength tool)
>>
>>77480315
The 'bells are definitely a strength tool mein negger, normalfaggos just frequently use them wrong and use them as some weird cardio/mobility exercise

>>
>>77477874
The same reason most things become stigmatized. The people who use them are insufferable.
>>
>>77481057
Gotta admit that. I have a 24kg one at home, want to get a 32 and 36 soon, great for shoulder mobility work, and just getting in some random sets throughout the day. But this whole Pavel Tsaderpine thing is annoying. No you wont build muscle with them as efficiently as with barbells, stop being tarded ,they are a tool with different uses than hypertrophy
