Is there anybody here who only workout to maintain the muscle with only 1 workout per week?
How is your result? Is once per week enough to just maintain your muscle mass?
I'm asking because as i become older now my recovery is not as good and my workout is taxing to my body.

I'm near your age and my point still stands, your recovery should not be falling off a cliff

Gold standard for maintenance is twice a week and works fine for me at 39 but my diet is strict in the sense that I never have too little protein.

>bragging about how much you work and your shitty work conditions
I'll never understand people who brag about being a fucking slave. It's so fucking pathetic.

I've tried once a week in my mid 30s and it was a waste of time. Yes, those >2,5 hours in the gym (because it was the only day dedicated to train), didn't work. I might get sore because going all till failure but the feeling would evaporate after 72 hrs. Plenty of time for recovery, but also leaving a lot of it in the trash can. Time useful for exploding your body.
No matter how busy you are, OP. Allow yourself to dedicate TWO days per week with good intensity as the BARE MINIMUM.
Ideally, one should train three times per week going full hard. More is not bad, but optional.

What do you mean wasted, can you be more specific? My goal is just to prevent muscle atrophy and keep it with once a week workout. If that is enough then i'm good. Because lately after my workout i'm feeling sluggish, sore and tired all day for 1-2 days after that and that's not a good sign. Before 40 i'm still feeling allright doing 3x per week. But after i'm hitting that magic number its all going down hill and now 2x per week feel too much and become a struggle. I'm not a newbie either have been training for 3 years now and always have good muscle mass
