Hot take: doing legs more than once a week is overkill. Big legs ruin physiques and just don't look good, you only want them big enough to look like you don't have chicken legs. The two physiques on the top are ruined, one on the bottom looks great. Maybe he could do a little more on the legs but still.

I agree.
>>
>>77480340
As far as aesthetics go, once a week is probably fine. But should be able to actually use your legs. If you can’t hike or run or throw a decent round kick, then your legs are weak and nonfunctional.
>>
>>77480340
Not exactly a hot take, more like a TRVKE but ok.
>>
>>77480340
What if you build your core wider than the bottom pic while maintaining a similar level of leanness? I feel like a thicker build needs thicker legs.

One man's hot take is another man's truth nuke. For example, many anons here still can't admit being ripped with low body fat is not aesthetic whatsoever, and that 20%ish is ideal

> being ripped with low body fat is not aesthetic whatsoever, and that 20%ish is ideal
Unfathomably based

Classic cursed SS physique. Some guys, of a certain build, will always look like this following SS programming. Don't fucking do it. You do not need to do heavy low bar squats every fucking workout. Once a week is sufficient. Don't need to go heavy either.
Front squats/bulgarian split squats, once a week, will give you well developed quads and glutes without ever giving you such disgustingly disproportionate legs.
RDLs once a week too. You can go heavy on those without worry because you'll never grow your glutes and hammies too big as a natty.

This is not a hot take, it’s the Silver Renaissance. A lot of modern neutral bodybuilders follow limited leg training.

for pictured
>Don't need to go heavy either.
true, even air squats will fuck you up like that given "good" form
>Front squats/bulgarian split squats, once a week, will give you well developed quads and glutes without ever giving you such disgustingly disproportionate legs.
no, not salvageable statement - it's exact same shit - bulbous thighs, deformed arse, wide "hips" and shit posture
>>77480646
>RDLs once a week too. You can go heavy on those without worry because you'll never grow your glutes and hammies too big as a natty.
it\s medius and adductors bitch bot gpt - hlute medius not max, and hamstrings will get damaged and stiffen and shorten further contributing to shit look, posture and function

Not gonna post a pic but the only leg workout I do is stationary bike zone 2 cardio like 4 times a week, and then blast at high resistance for 2-3 minutes once per workout.
Upper body is twice a week and I look pretty good at 6' 175lb.
Doing legs is a meme for people that want blown out knees in their 40s or 50s
>>
>>77480665
>stationary bike
yes it's the exact same mechanics/stimulus as the squat bench deadlit bitch bot gpt
>>77480662

>what bench has to do with it?
leg drive, arch - gluteus medius, bulbous clown thighs

when i bike to get my upright walk in pace on flat in i remind myself not to push too hard - go lazy, my thighs baloon immediately if i push on bike even a tad :D
>>
>>77480674
Well I'm only doing the bike because it's cardio and easier on my knees than squatting 3pl8
what do you suggest instead?
>>

upright pace walk - i said it already bitch bot gpt :D
>>77480674
>>77480662
>upright walk in pace on flat
learn to walk as you're at it, hip sway, supporting leg hip drop when you're pushing forward with gastrocnemius, spine and shoulder movement, head position tucked chin and cervical thoracic spine alignment

and no more than 40 minutes of it, 15 is perfectly fine

those huge vastus lateralis look so gross
this is what happens when you spam the same compound with the same form you end up unbalanced
>>
to me the bigger isue is that standard leg workouts are way too quad dominant
most people work hard on squats and leg extension both mostly quads
then its hard to have energy for proper hamstring and posterior chain
basically im saying this should be reversed. posterior chain is 100x more important especially when modern living (read:sitting) rots your posterior chain

20% is too high

10-15% for smaller "athletic" builds
15-18% for """"dadbods""""" if you're over 6'3

20% might be fine for some guys, but others will look DYEL at that level

I remember the thread where you posted it. I have a similar build, trying to work on upper body. How is your physique now?
