>be 16 in 2010>Go to /fit/>Ask how to gain muscle and strength>Someone says 5x5>5x5 bench, squat, and row 3x a week AND THAT'S IT>Get really fucking strong really fucking fast (Bench was 350lbs by 18)>Look completely unaesthetic
>>77483044You asked how to gain muscle and strength, gained muscle and strength, then realized you actually wanted to bodybuild? That is pretty stupid but common. Most men are unaware of their own feelings because their huge ego is in the way.
>>77483044starting strength
>>77483044you got exactly what you wanted
>>77483061This man.I have spine problems for the rest of my life for following this stupid meme. Before SS I had already done bodybuilding stuff from fitness magazines. I already got great results from P90X. But I got one reddit and thought SS was the holy grail of fitness like the nerds shilling it kept saying.Reddit was the worst thing to happen in my life. No just for taking their bullshit SS and Keto advice, but also for listening to what miserable fat losers had to say about anything. When I was 19 I was a young, handsome, ambitious man with lots of friends and talent. I was a professional dancer and loved to dance it was my life passion and I still have dreams that I'm dancing. But I got injured and decided to start smoking weed and downloaded Team Fortress 2 in 2008 so I could have something to pass the time while I was healing. And then I discovered reddit a year later which turned me into a complete loser for decades to follow. Living with a mentally ill drug addict parent didn't help too much either.
>>77483709>spine problems for the rest of my life for following this stupid memeWhat happened?
>>77483709>I was a professional dancer and loved to dance it was my life passion and I still have dreams that I'm dancing.Fuck that makes me sad
>>77483044Wait it’s seriously that easy? I wish I could bench 350
>>77483044>(Bench was 350lbs by 18)Then it wasn't retarded, to this day I bet you still reap the rewards. As long as you didn't get so fat as to have loose skin or a lot of stretch marks anywayAnyway, for me I thought that despite being a novice with no knowledge or experience I could make my own split>One day, was just bench, flys push ups and sit ups>Other day was curls, lateral raises, tricep kickbacks (a retarded exercise in itself) and more sit-ups>Did this for nearly 3 years while also not eating, was permanently novice and dyel and coped and said I had bad genetics>The kicker is, once I actually started eating and training seriously it only took me like 6 months to hit 1/2/3/4that's the best advice I can give to new gym guys, follow a proper program and eat if you wanna really get started
I got tricked into starting strength and got my squat to 365lbs for 3x5 and couldnt even bench 185 for reps, my lower body was huge and outgrew my upper body like a weed growing. I had to keep buying new pants and when I brought it up people were encouraging me and saying stuff like "lower body is the foundation" and all kinds of bullshit.
>>77483044I fell for the dreamer bulk and victim weight meme and got past 200 pounds. It took me years to cut back down. I eventually got to 150 pounds. I lost the strength I had at 200 pounds during the long cut but have regained it at 150 pounds. I just finished a bulk at 157 pounds and going to cut to 150 and should be even leaner and stay stronger than I was at 200. I was carrying 50+ pounds of fat. I’d rather be 150 and considered a “victim” than the fatass I was before.
>>77483794>lower body is the foundationkek
>>77483044i did SS and i still have the purple stretch marks on my inner thighs to prove it
>>77483781Then 5x5 your way there
>>77483794because if You have the lower body and you have no upper body, you got a problem building...wait a minute. You have the upper body, and you have no legs, you got a problem building your legs. You have the upper...you have the lower body and you don't have the upper body, the upper body, it is easier to build. So if you have the lower body and you don't have the upper body, it is easier to build the upper body. You have the upper body and you don't have the legs, you got a problem building the lower body... No, you don't understand. You have the upper body, but you don't have the lower body, you got a problem building downstairs. You got the up- legs on the bottom, it is easier to build on the top, so you don't have much as a problem. Yeah.
>>77483044>Retarded shit you did when you first started gyming>Go to /fit/
>>77483044I spent like 10 years lifting without eating enough or pushing progression.
>>77483709That’s weird. I did SS and did not become a gay loser. Maybe it’s your fault your life is fucked up. Maybe your propensity to blame a random lifting program instead of yourself is why you’re a loser now. Idk. Just a guess.
>>77483709>But I got one reddit and thought SS was the holy grail of fitness>But I got injured and decided to start smoking weed>And then I discovered reddit a year later which turned me into a complete loser for decades to followyour reddit discovery timeline is off
>>77483044>didn’t scream at the top of my lungs for each rep>didnt tell myself that if I failed a rep I was gay >didn’t bring a carrot to feed the gym reindeer>forgot to tip the guy at reception each visit>didn’t realise that the gym mirrors weren’t actually mirrors but highly trained actors mimicking your actions>didn’t use a squat plug>did SS but I didn’t do the program
>>77483044You asked for muscle and strength and got what you wanted OP. No one ever told you it would make you look good.At some point though, even as a 16 year old, perhaps you might have realized that your body is capable of more than spamming just 3 different movements. From there, it's only a short mental walk to "wait a minute, I might be leaving a lot of exercises and therefore muscle groups out here, which might explain why I don't look as aesthetic as I want". That's just me though.
>>77483044I fell for the stupid meme about how compounds are enough to grow your arms, and you don't need to isolate themended up with the classic t rex build then spent an embarrassing amount of time bringing my arms up, do your curls bros
>>77483044I counted the bar's weight.
>>77483709>I have spine problems for the rest of my life for following this stupid meme.Have you tried Pilates or yoga?
>>77483044>bruv all u needs is cretin-9 & le Flintstone multisTook me a few years of litting to start getting deep in the supplement game, but made the biggest impact on recovery rate.
>stretching is boring>put on music and do stretch dance routine instead>looks super gay to anyone watching>kind of feels gay to even do itI still do this btw
>>77488746So what are you currently taking then?>inb4 bloo cumstack
