you have to clean the gunk out consistently and they will shrink

I smoosh my nose in a hand seamer every so often and it makes all those little blackheads squeeze out their goop at the same time like a playdough dispenser.
>>
>>77486017
I used to do that as a trick in school, bitches loved it
>>
Is there a cure for this? I've tried strips, hot showers, masks, and a bunch of other things. I think its just genetic or something

Generally not a sign of skin cancer or flesh eating bacteria anything serious, but sometimes worth getting rid of for cosmetic reasons if bad enough. Urea cream helps dissolve them fairly well in terms of cheap OTC shit that doesn't require advanced photonics.

Im addicted to squeezing them. Sometimes ill notice one is a little bigger than normal. Pinch it like a zit and its incredibly satisfying. The gunk will erupt and spiral multiple times into an extremely slender half inch tube snake. Often ill turn my nose red and cover it in fingernail marks because I love squeezing them out so much. Sometimes ill wait and not touch it for awhile so the harvest builds up. Really long tube snakes get saved and put on temporary display
>>
>>77486017
That won't get all of them. Hell it won't even get most of them.

I've always had these, also very noticable.
Since they're a normal thing (sebaceous filament, as anon mentions) they're simply part of our son and we can't really get rid of them.
BUT I hate how huge they are and how they make me look like my nose is full of blackheads, so I started researching and found a way.

Here's the treatment:
>get olive oil, about half a teaspoon is enough
>go with the high quality stuff, not the cheap supermarket oil
>rub it all over your nose
>aggressively rub the oil into all the problem areas
>just go ahead and also do your entire face and beard if you've got one
>I'm bald so I do my entire scalp too
>don't try to squeeze stuff out, just vigorously rub your skin
>let it sit for a few minutes* while you do whatever else
>hop in the shower and wash up with warm but not burning water
Your skin and hair will be smooth like baby butt and the pores will be essentially invisible.
Holds for about 3 days, then you will start seeing them again, and by the end of the week they'll be back to normal.

The entire rubbing part takes two minutes. I haven't experimented much with waiting times afterwards. Maybe it's ok if you wash it straight away. So far the shortest I've done is 20 minutes and the results are excellent.

Cheap olive oil is usually mixed with other crap and might end up clogging your pores even harder, so caveat emptor. You just need a tiny amount so invest in a good little luxury bottle. Your skin will thank you.

safflower oil works best for this. The sebaceous filaments form because some people produce oil that is low in a certain type of fatty acid that, otherwise, would make the oil more fluid and flow from the pore more smoothly out onto the skin and moisturize the area. But people who get a lot of sebaceous filaments dont produce or produce enough of that fatty acid in their skin oil, so it stays as a solid in the pore, clogging it up.

Safflower oil is highest in that missing fatty acid. I forget what it is. Rub it into the nose area before shitting or shaving and let it sit. Wash it off in the shower afterward and the pore will be much less choked with the solid oil. The safflower oil dissoves it somewhat. Just do it daily as part of your brush-shit-shave-shower regimen.

I had those as a teenager and used a blackhead remover strip and then never had them again

this sounds super interesing. do you have a source for that? i was wondering if a am deficient in something because sometimes i have no problems with this and then sometimes i do

Walmart sells a small bottle of benzoyl peroxide cream for ~$3. I put a small amount on my nose before bed and let that dry out my pores while I sleep.

That's just "salicylic acid", which has been around for years.

Salicylic acid. Shrinks the filaments massively. Thank me later.
>>
>>77486017
doesn't doing that just make the pores bigger and easier for more junk to get in?
>>
>>77486041
permanently?
>>
>>77488810
>doesn't doing that just make the pores bigger and easier for more junk to get in?
yes it does

people see sebacious filaments and mistake them for blackheads or clogged pores. they're not the same

all filaments have that slightly brown/grey dot look to them. some people have more obvious dots, some people barely have them. you can reduce their size a bit with niacinamide and salicylic acid but it only works somewhat and needs constant maintenance.

point is, the filaments are a natural part of your skin and trying to constantly open them up and clean them is stupid and only invites more gunk into them
>>
>>77485990
Not only do I have those but dark hairs come out of them too.
