I don't care about their loading schemes and whatever periodization shit they cooked up but changing your lifts when they stall is pretty smart.
>>

It works. I prefer stepwise loading Russian Style, which is boring but better for work capacity, but it's a lot slower than conjugate

L M A O

that is literally the worst thing you can do

the first few months you train a new lift its basically just entirely neurological adaptation, the muscle gaining adaptions dont even start until you pass the initial neurological adaptation phase and again, that can take months

so if youre constantly switching out lifts youre literally only training neurological adaptations

fucking KEK that people dont understand this in 2026

Didn't work for me but I'm retarded

Scam made to sell equipment by incorrectly employing terms borrowed from ONE (1) Mel Siff book. It's weird how people defend it so hard when it's obviously bullshit from the fact that Louie would scout for elite lifters to claim their success. Ex-Westside people all remove the dynamic day and experience no issues from it, like JM Blakley.

Just read the source material if you're interested in the subject. Even the name "conjugate" training is incorrect for the Westside method because Westside is actually concurrent training.

You are dumb as hell. There is heavy carry over even in novices those neurological adaptions take at most 6-8 weeks. They are not energetic adaptions (they don't require calories or protein) so it can occur even in a deficit. Stalling is not "boo hoo i didn't hit a pr every week like I did year one" it's usually months of not being able to increase weight without losing reps or increase reps at the same weight. You can always self select the interval. Trying to push through stalling lifts with periodization is a meme, trying to push through them with volume is meme, hoping it'll fix itself after a deload is a meme. Just change the lift and if you want to be a pissbaby about it you can just swap out sets of it progressively instead of wholesale switching.

You don’t have to change lifts. You can change sets and reps and weight. That is sufficient variation without losing neurological adaptations
>>
not for the faint of heart

mind sharing a source for this? I'd like to read more about the biological mechanism that causes this.

You're not losing them they carry over fine. I can switch from an incline to flat bench or vice versa in a week or two. I start at 90% of what I left it at which is still a stimulating weight if take near failure. Periodization is a meme sold by charlatans to pretend there's some secret sauce besides "keep lifting"
>>

>periodization is secret sauce
I feel like you went down some number crunching math nerd phase in your lifting career and don’t irritated by it. Which is fair. I hate the idea of spreadsheets and percentages too. I just do volume, and add reps and weight as needed. Then when it is stalled out I add weight aggressively each workout until I get to doing about half as many reps. I’ll add in some variation to keep volume up. Do that until I miss reps, then go back to the volume and weight I was using before.
>>
you have to shock the muscle
>>
>>77487861
There's nothing that supports that. Daily undulating periodization (light and heavy days) is the only one that even produces tangible results short term it still does almost nothing compared to a baseline of just lifting the same weight for the same sets. Changing the lift changes how biased it is towards differnt heads and supporting muscles which will play a role in the future but the closer they get to failure in comparison to the main mover the more they will grow. Also varying the stress pattern will do the same for connective tissue and joint issues. Injury prevention means more for cumulative training time and higher likelihood of advancing in weight.

If you’re a competitive powerlifter or strength athlete, it’s great. In fact all the top football programs have their athletes doing some variation of conjugate method during the off season now. But these are guys who’ve been lifting for years and are competitive at a high level. If you are an experienced lifter and aren’t looking to compete in a strength-based sport it’s overkill.
>>
>>77487746
If you think it’s concurrent and not conjugate you either don’t actually know what the training method is or you’re retarded and don’t know the distinction between the two.
>>
>>77486877
You don’t really change the lifts necessarily. It’s more doing variations of the lifts. You’ll still bench press every week but you’ll go through barbells, dumbells, range of motion, bands, chains, grips, etc.
>>
>>77488069
Changing the exercise every 1-3 weeks to a different variation but keeping the intended training goal exactly the same (the strength and dynamic days) is NOT conjugate you fucking retard. If you actually read the source material and stopped talking out of your ass, you'd know conjugate is an expanded upon training block system which is why they keep harping about it only being for advanced athletes, while concurrent training is suitable for novices who can afford to train multiple aspects of fitness simultaneously.

Why are you talking about shit you don't know anything about? Cite the page number in "Supertraining" where it's this "change your grip weekly" bullshit.
