How do i know when ive bulked enough to cut and escape skinnyfat?
May 2025 I was 83kg fat, almost no muscle, aggressive cut till mid april 2026, I was 65kg skinnyfat, had trouble benching even the 20kg bar, then i lean bulked up till now. Back up to 80kg, but so far im flat benching 3x8 1 plate, squatting 3x6 90kg and deadlifting 3x8 120kg. I can see that i look different at my current 80kg compared to my zero lifting 80kg back in 2025, but idk when to start the cut to ensure I dont look skinnyfat again at 75 or 70, any advice

174cm bloke

Bit hard to tell without a pic m8
Stats seem ok to cut tho

Yeah im too pussy to post but i do have proper fat on me, lovehandles and some small backfat, belly protusion but way less than the belly i had at my 2025 80kg, so im definitely fat right now to a degree, just wanted to ask if theres any merit in continuing further into gaining even more fat for the sake of more muscle if itll ensure my next cut goes well.

I read some shit about new fat cells being permanent so i reckon ill just start the cut and if i fuck up and dont look any better by 75 ill just leak bulk to 80 and rinse and repeat. Praying i dont lose any strength gains since im still beginner tier, cheers
>>
you should switch to a hypertrophy focused routine now that you have developed your base strength. i assume you want to look like you workout, you need to do isolations now. if you continue to only do compounds you will continue to look dyel skinnyfat as that workout style is strength focused not necessarily size.
>>
That’s going to be a long cut, you bulked too far imho

I probably should explain more. You gained 15kg which very little is muscle no matter how lean of a bulk you did. They say 2-3kg muscle gain in first year of lifting. Let’s say you gained 5kg lean tissue. You now have 10kg fat to lose which is 5 months or so.

Post a picture of your physique

This is all completely stupid and wrong. What an idiot you are. What do you look like? What are your lifts?
>>
>>77510218

82kg 3x5 bench
105kg 1x8 squat
3pl8 deadlift for reps

75kg lean

Now seethe fatty.

You're small and weak. What the fuck. Whoever told you that stupid bullshit about only being able to gain 5 lbs of muscle your first year really fucking screwed you.
>>
>>77510161
I wouldn't cut now, I'd reduce calories to a small surplus and add like 20kg to each lift before the cut.
>>
>>77510161
>aggresive cut skinny fat bench this bench that 80kg this 70kg that compared this compared that bla bla bla
just go back in the weight room young man and stay hard, obviously you still got a long way to go with all that DYEL mumbo jumbo talk shit
>>
>bulking
>cutting
Why subject yourself to this endless samsara? Just eat at maintenance, 2g/kg protein loading, and lift for strength. You will be fine.

This is the program ive been following for months, its just a program i grabbed off the gym app i use (caliber).

Im not aiming to look like i workout right now, i dont want to get too ambitious and think too far ahead
My main goal has always been escaping skinnyfat, so i cut from the 2025 80~kg when i was more fat than skinny, but i cut too hard, genuine weeks of 1100kcal/day whilst doing SS 3x a day back then, dumb shit all around. And didnt gain much muscle so at 65kg i was just a skinnierfat retard

Started the lean bulk around may 2026 and changed the program from SS to pic rel because i wanted to try a fullbody program, and since I had an actual surplus i finally started making gains

I just want to gain enough muscle to ensure i can cut down to look ok, a flat stomach, smaller lovehandles, im not chasing abs yet or anything like that. At least with this strength based program ive been gaining a lot of muscle on my pecs so i can kinda look not dyel in a long shirt.
Im trying to up my compounds and get more foundational strength but also increase my isos like triceps and what not since the more muscle I have wherever the better the cut will be I figure.

Right now I wanna get a body that isnt skinnyfat and then just maintain and slowly grow from there. Once i get a not skinnyfat, ok generic template of a body ill think about going all in on strength or trying to hypertrophy.

Yeah i figured my app was bullshitting me with December but i dont mind, im happy to take the long way if it means i keep as much muscle as possible, after the cut i fucked up with last year ill accept the slow and steady. Everytime I thought about starting the cut at mid 70s Id think maybe I dont have enough muscle yet so kept putting it off till now.

I wanna lose the belly man, last time i tried I went down to 65kg and looked like a fallout ghoul and still had a belly, this time let me pack on what I can on my lats and frame and try again

>lose the bell
If you cut down to skelly and still had it it's very likely to be visceral fat from chronically elevated cortisol. Find the stress in your life and cut it out. There is no other solution.
>>
>>77510334
Also ive been tweaking the workout in that every 2nd week i switch out day 1s squat
So week 1 itd be hacksquats
Next week day 1 is regular barbell squats
Next week day 1 is zerchers, then repeat the order from then on, so far ive been managing to progressively overload.

Same with bench press, each 2nd day 2 is incline bench, then flat bench the next

Ive removed zerchers from day 3 ignore that, deadlifting and zercher is too much for me idk what i was thinking

Each sessions about 1 hour 30 mins

No way cortisol has that lvl of an effect, ill look it up but i cant believe stress means actual belly fat
>>
what the fuck youre right, this is bullshit
>>
>>77510344
>>77510347
One reason to think it might exist is that being stressed implies a need to have acute, easily liberated energy stores in the body that aren't depleted by normal diet. Thus visceral fat. Without cortisol keeping it on you it melts away incredibly quickly and is often the first type of fat to go when doing cardio.

>>

Cut now, it's not gonna be a one and done. Next time you bulk, don't take it too far.
>>
"Lean bulking" isn't a thing. You either gain weight, which is bulking, or lose weight, which is cutting. That phrase makes beginners think that they can build ONLY muscle and no fat while gaining weight, which is not possible.
>>
>>77513720
Idk what you mean anon, the only people who assume lean bulking means zero fat are genuine retards who havent even thought about cico once in their life

lean bulking just means a slower controlled weight gain to mitigate fat, its just the opposite of dirty bulking, no shit fat gain is unavoidable, but anyone can control the ratio of fat to muscle in their bulk
