For those you absolutely should be using forefoot strike, your ankle and calf muscles are the strongest ground reaction shock absorbers you have, but most people only really use them when sprinting. If you want to jog/run fast & long without fucking yourself up, you need to not be ploping up and down, you need to be catching your weight and distributing the force as evenly as possible and you absolutely won't be doing that without what I've mentioned above.

With heel strike while jogging/running the knees and hips are completely overwhelmed and the whole rest of the body has to compensate.
