Why can't I be in surplus for 3 days to stimulate muscle growth and fast for a day to achieve a net deficit
>>
you can

Why wouldn't you eat at a slight surplus for 6 days and fast on the 7th day
>>
>>77511234
lol sure let us know how it goes
>>
>>77511234
Why not be in surplus 12 hours, then be in deficit the last 12 for ultra maxed gainz
>>
>>77511234
Fat storage doesn't work like that, if you don't use the energy after you eat then it's getting stored. If it's sugar then half the energy goes into storage regardless of what you do because your muscles can't use fructose.
>>
>>77511275
Awesome
>>77511282
That's possible too if this is, but I don't know that it is
>>77511287
Thanks I will
>>77511296
Because MPS is elevated for 24-48h after a workout
>>
>>77511301
Of course it gets stored, but you'll burn it in a deficit, no?
>>
Any kind of frequent surplus/deficit cycling won’t work effectively. A lot of what you’re doing is just depleting and restoring glycogen. It’s also hard to track actual progress. Signal-noise ratio. Try it and you’ll see.

>NOO YOU NEED TO SUFFER AND DO A -500 CALORIE DEFICIT FOR MONTHS USING A PROPRIETARY MACRO TRACKING APP OTHERWISE YOU'LL LOSE MUSCLE OVERNIGHT SCIENCE BASED LIFTERS TOLD ME SOO
>>

Create a blog where you frequently cycle surplus and deficit and show your gains and prove everyone wrong. Because no one with any credibility suggests this approach. There is a hole in the market you could fill and dominate and become famous anon.

Atlastpowershrugged (the tripfag Doorbrah on this board 10 years ago when this shithole was actually good) is literally doing that right now actually

>just like cycle opposing types of metabolic reprogramming bro
This works amazingly well if you're accomplishing it with several dozen small molecules, but probably not so much on most normie foods.

it takes like 30 seconds to measure your food intake

If jeans still fit properly, you have skipped too many leg days.
>>
>>77511399
Jeans, meme lifts, parking lot is screaming for attention and to stand out. Of course he promotes a meme diet.
>>
>>77511394
oh no no no is that a strawman argument from your post
ahahaha
>>
>>77511409
how is fasting a meme diet when it's quite literally how your body has evolved to use fat storage
bizarre post
>>
>>77511417
It’s not a strawman argument because my argument was already stated: frequently cycling surplus and deficit is mainly just restoring and depleting glycogen. That was my argument. Pointing out the jeans, meme lifts, and parking lot is merely pointing out red flags that you should have picked up on that this guy is an e-celeb not worth your time. But whatever. Follow his advice. In fact, I want you to.
>>
>>77511447
My g I've been fasting and making cuts much more sustainable and quicker with no muscle or strength loss. I've followed his advice and it worked out great
Plus if you were a fitness influencer trying to make it you would surely attempt to stand out in the extremely oversaturated field of youtube/instagram fitness. cant blame him for it
>>
If your average over weeks or months is maintenence or deficit then you will hardly grow or not grow at all.
>>
>>77511491
Why?

>>77511456
This requires a post body

i uhhhh.... don't actually know. sorry.

tldr: you probably can't unless detrained or fat and untrained
>Let me note that both of those factors are more or less required for body recomposition to be a
possibility: the person must be both relatively untrained (or detrained) and carrying significant amounts of bodyfat. Lean but untrained can't usually do it and neither can someone who is well trained even if they are carrying more bodyfat. It's the combination of the two which has some implications for who the information in this and the next two chapters are for.
>Which brings us to the situation where gaining muscle while losing fat starts to approach nearly
impossible which is when someone is both relatively lean and relatively well trained. At this point both
losing fat and gaining muscle are both relatively much more difficult and the odds of doing both at the
same time (without drugs anyhow) becomes lower and lower approaching essentially nil.
> To finish up, I'd note that a 2020 paper by Barakat et. al titled "Body Recomposition: Can Trained
Individuals Build Muscle and Lose Fat at the Same Time?" published in the Strength and Conditioning
Journal found the above pattern to hold true by dividing the studies into trained and untrained.
Studies in untrained individuals with obesity regularly saw fat loss with simultaneous muscle gain
under various interventions (usually involving resistance training and/or higher protein intakes in a
moderate calorie deficit). In contrast, studies in leaner trained individuals basically never did. The
exceptions being situations where a lean athlete had gotten injured or was actively detrained and were
getting BACK into shape. I addressed that exception above

>but you'll burn it in a deficit, no?
No. You'll burn glycogen first which gets immediately replenished when you eat carbs, this is why you lose 4lbs of water weight when you fast which comes back right away. Excess energy gets stored as fat which your body barely touches until you do zone 2 cardio or you do a fast long enough to deplete all glycogen first.
