Once you hit your mid 30s, if you have a fit and healthy body you are quite literally lightyears ahead of most people in your cohort.

The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time without pain, the ability to take a stairway without getting out of breath, the ability to join a pickup game of basketball or volleyball without languishing in agony for the rest of the week, hell just having energy to do anything after work or on the weekends besides sitting in front of the PC and rotting - these are things a lot of young, healthy people take for granted, that most people my age including a lot of my closest friends simply can no longer do.

You don't have to be benching 4pl8 or whatever, just being able to enjoy living in your body is something most people would give anything for.

I took a beach vacation a month ago and no shit in 3 hours I had to help 2 adults stand up in knee high water because a big wave knocked them down and they couldn’t get up. This happened on other days too while I was there. There’s probably people that drown in knee high water because waves keep them from standing up and they get exhausted and just collapse and drown.
