What is your opinion on rest days? How often you take them? Is it a full rest day or you do some light cardio?
you should be doing something on your rest days, even if its just 8-10k steps. Resting is optimal for muscle growth though.
Rest days are essential for performance and counter-productive for fat loss. People looking to get lean or stay lean should have no rest days because every day should be filled with at least as much low intensity cardio as possible if not a more intense session.
>>77513145Everything got better when I went from two on one off to mon wed Fri with the weekends off and just take it to the limit on those daysMy rest days involve a lot of walking and stuff like mowing
>>77513145I always walk alot, especially a nice long walk on the weekends.
>>77513145I struggle to give myself rest days and fill in lifting sessions with cardio to my own detriment
I do upper body 4 days a week and sprint twice. On my day off I do yoga and light cycling. I do some easy jogs on some lifting days some times if I am taking it easy on the sprinting.

Motion is lotionRest days are important, especially as you get older, but it doesn't have to mean being a slob all day. Active recovery is a thing.I do a minimum of 16k steps a day, without fail (for around the past 200 days or so) and that includes any rest day or recovery day after running a half marathon etc etc.Aside from the physical benefits I think it helps mentally to be active on a rest day because it removes the guilty slob feeling and makes it easier to actually take a break from training.
