Ankle sprains are just so frustrating. I've sprained them 3 times already this year playing basketball and I'll probably keep spraining them. All of this started when I didn' take care of a high ankle sprain last year and now they won't stop rolling even though I rehab and rest. It's such an easy motion to occur and it takes you out for like 2-4 weeks, it's fucking annoying. You start playing well and the boom, ankle roll,it's fucking stressful. Fuck ankle sprains

Some kinda rehab skill issues going on. I had one last year and did everything from compression and AFO to boron, collagen, ROM exercises, progressive weight bearing, even very short-duration icing cycles despite literature warning against it since I know more about infrared thermometers than most doctors... and mine healed up fine.

You probably need an MRI from some kinda HCP to figure out if something worse than just a sprain is going on.

They kinda heal , I get back to playing with no pain and they dont feel funny or anything. They just roll all of a sudden. Seems like a chronic issue and it fucking sucks

Could possibly be some cartilage and/or ligament damage that isn't fully healing and keeps getting reinjured, or even possibly a fracture of some kind; a simple x-ray would diagnose or rule out the latter but MRI is really needed to figure the former with decent certainty.

I hope not. My last roll was on my right side though, all the previous ones including the major one have been on the left. It freaks me out because I had rolled my ankle before, even awfull rolls, when I was like 23 23 (now I'm 24) nothing would seem to happen, I'd just kept playing and no swelling or pain. My last roll was the mildest I've had in years when I tried a crossover and it got sore as a bitch the next morning lmao. I feel old.
