What are some good exercises for first responders? The only thing I can realistically think of are dead lifts for lifting patients on back boards, or bent over BB rows for taking them down stairs with a stair chair.Would those be the only “specific” exercises useful for an EMT? I can’t think of any others that would be particularly useful aside from just overall general fitness

>>77518066Already part of the regiment for that exact reason big dawg
>>77518063Sandbag clean to shoulder and carry for fireman's liftsZercher and bear hug carriesSledgehammer or heavy club stuff for fire ax or general rotation strength if you're carrying someone and weight shifts
>>77518063the same lifts everybody else has done forever you stupid fuck
>>77518281These are good; the Scott Lift was also invented by a nurse to test your patient-retrieval capability.
>>77518281Good to know if I ever get my fire certs, but I’ll definitely look into rotational strength because carrying other people has shown me that natural weight doesn’t like to sit in a good spot>>77518287Don’t worry I figured as much. I was just wondering if there were any specific ones I should be focusing on to reduce my chance of injury when I’m out on a call because the 337 pound McWhale refuses to help me get them up when they’re pinned between the toilet and bath tub and my partner is the 140 pound 5’3” paramedic
