When did Bodybuilding stop being simple?
>>77521615I’m guessing when it became popular and more of a competitive business
>>77521615steroids. before that everyone worked full body 3 times a week
>>77521615Steroids. It allowed bodybuilders to build muscles using a wide variety of methods, hence causing confusion.
when it became a business strategy to keep lifters spinning their wheels by making up new and contradictory training methods to sell
Periodization. I’ve been doing the exact same upper workout twice per week with same weights and sets and just doing as many reps as I can and I slowly get stronger. There is no need for a novel stimulus or whatever. Not for me right now. About every 6 weeks or so I get to add 5 pounds.

>>77521615When people began obsessing about leanness. OP's pic has perfect levels of healthy, athletic, jacked, reasonabel leaness. 15%?Reasonable levels of leaness also make natty bodybuilding possible. Shredded and muscular requires drugs. 15-18% and muscular can be done natty,
>>77521746>>77521618>>77521621>>77521679It's both of these. The first gear that would make any kind of difference hit the shelves in 1937. That made a difference if you look at the physiques before and after the early 1940s when they were making the rounds in bodybuilding. But it wasn't until things got more extreme in the late 60s and early 70s with Weider's horseshit after bringing Arnold and friends to California and making bodybuilding a business venture
>>77521868Way before that
>>77521615When roided homosexuals got involved
>>77521615It never was. Go read "silver era" literature and they're writing complete bullshit like Gironda claiming to take 40 "liver tablets" every meal or how they all exclusively ate swordfish.
Bodybuilding used to be for reserved for actual chads where dorks and geeks got ran out of the gym, they slowly worked their way into the hobby and now it's extremely gay
>>77523877>how they all exclusively ate swordfishthey did?
>>77523962lol no, sure there was jocks that did it but most were guys that started off as scrawny dorks and geeks
>>77521757Kek this. Fantastic answer.
>>77521615Gonna go out on a limb here and say: Jews
>>77524930back to /pol/
When they invented roids
>>77524930How much more can they take from us?
>>77521615It never stopped being simple. People now will pretend it is more complicated than it is to make videos.Workout all your muscle groups as heavy as you can, try to progress, eat clean food (+ roids if you actually want to look impressive to anyone)
>>77523962>they slowly worked their way into the hobby and now it's extremely gayThat's what they do to every hobby. Sperglords ruin everything. It's literally the opposite of that meme pic about "infiltration" that I see passed around all over this site.
>>77523962bodybuilding was for homosexuals
>>77521615Because George Eiferman and most bronze era lifters were genetic elite. So most people will never live up to their amount of muscle, even with "modern routines" and "modern diets".You don't have his bone structure, his 8+ inch wrists or his gigantic ankles. So people needed ways to cope. Most fake natties just use low doses of gh with low doses of trt. It's plenty to push them to a good body, which still is impossible for many. Building tons of muscle was never an evolutionary advantage, being strong with the least amount of muscle was. Bodybuilding tries the opposite, as much muscle as possible which is a very costly resource and can even slow you down.
>>77521615The moment it went from picking up heavy stuff= growth of the related muscles used to muh science entering in to this simple fact. Then it became the usual science community nerd faggotry of the thirst for cash and kudos and magic rep schemes, drugs, times of day, programs, etc. were sold to everybody as THE way to do it. It gets worse every year with some new thing added to it and the plot is lost with most people.TLDR before either of us was born
>>77526671>towering man>named eiffelmanwho writes this shit
>>77524930Commercializing fitness may have played a part, yes. Corporations competing to sell you the one true solution to fitness problems, contradicting the one true solution the other corporations are shilling, gurus paid up to sell their lifestyle, and the invention of the internet probably didn't help.
>>77521615It is simple - lift heavy weights and eat right. But simple doesnt get youtube views and nobody wants to lift heavy weights and eat right. And that's why modern body building is just a million different youtube "influencers" shilling a million different useless gimmicks to retards who dont know better.
>>77521615It never stopped. You just started overcomplicating it.
