Does anyone do drop sets? Are they as effective as straight sets with rest? I haven't tried them but I love anything that saves time.
save time with supersets.
>>77526821Couldn't you combine those with drop sets? Like do one lift with drops, then move to an unrelated lift with no rest?
>>77526819Dunno, but I think rest pause works better to save time, and more practical. At least that's what Lyle says, and he's been right about everything.
>>77526835Is there any research on rest-pause effectiveness? And who's Lyle?
>>77526819I do 6 > 9 > 12/15 depending on the exercise. Going till failure in the last one.Very effective and yeah, it saves a lot of time. Love ‘em.>>77526821>supersetsHate ‘em.
love drop setting curlsI really wish fitnotes would support it though
>>77526821I alternate between them in PPL. The first time I do that lift during the week, I do supersets around 5 reps to failure for strength. On my second time that week, I do drop sets for hypertrophy.
>>77526828i suppose but i think youd just be overly fatiguing yourself then
>>77526821Giant sets and complexes :D
>>77526870shit man i might need to incorporate that myself. usually i just have my heavy compounds and switch the accessories or lets say its push day first day i do bench then OHP and ill do OHP first on my next push day of the week. actually changing up how i approach it though might be more beneficial if anything just to break up the monotony a little more
>>775268931rm to failure(death)
>>77526819>tendonitis liftsnah if I want to take 2 months off an entire muscle group I will just do it willingly
>>77526845The first thing you have to learn about lifting is that there is no valid research about anything, and any research you see is complete bullshit. The only usable sources of information are coaches and lifters' anecdotes.
>>7752681920+ rep bicep curls grew my arms like nothing else
>>77527047yeah theres only general info, everyones body is different and theres too many factors at play to even begin to think any advice is universal
