How's it like? Is it comfy?
I own a home gym and it is peak comfy
home-gyms are great for progress/saving time but poor for social life
>>77539392>poor for social lifeBe honest, are you really making conversation in the Planet Fitness?
>>77539392>social lifei was going to the gym for 3 years and ive never said anything more than 'how many sets you got left' to anyone
>>77539403impossible, if you're seeing people on a regular basis, connections are always built, so long as you're not anti-social and avoidant>>77539400planet fitness aint the only gyms around
>>77538863>>77539392that's not a gym
>>77539392I have been fucked over so many times I don’t want any friends. There’s Uber. I don’t really need to make friendships.
>>77539428no man is an island, getting betrayed sucks, but the aftereffect of paranoia, distrust, avoidance are the true cost, its like letting a wound reverberate in time and alter the course of your future. Life without people in it isnt worth living, every experience can be enhanced by experiencing it with your chosen people. Good people still exist, you just have to be more discerning.
>>77539424>impossible, if you're seeing people on a regular basis, connections are always built, so long as you're not anti-social and avoidantin school, sure. at work, sure. not at the gym though, a lot of people just come in, do what they came there to do, and leave
>>77539466my experience has been usually ~10% of the people there are friendly and open in general, and initiate or seem like they were waiting you for you to initiate interactions in the gym, the majority yeah, probably just grinding their "winter arcs" or some gay tiktok bs. I have never been to a gym where I don't make friends with at least a handful of regulars after a couple of months
>>77539392Who the fuck is socializing at the gym nigger?
>>77539494>>77538675
>>77538863>>77539392No I mean a commercial gym
>>77538675Home gym master race reporting. It's supremely based my friend
>>77539741I'm like a tier-2 owner, like there's a big financial guy who owns the company but he has nothing to do with it other than the money. It's stressful, mostly about sales and complaints and also good luck working out without 100 members trying to dap you up because everybody wants to be seen being cool with the "owner".
>>77538675I don't technically own a commercial gym but I have a membership to one, which during business hours (the only time I care to go anyway), is just as good.
>>77538675>is owning a gym comfortable?keep it well ventilated and climate controlled
>>77541385post it
>>77541543I don’t know how famous bodybuilders handle public gyms but I imagine they have to be rude sometimes.
>>77539392>but poor for social lifeI have never talked to anyone at the gym
>>77539392>Has to be very quiet in here, like in a Churchno talking or you're gay
>>77539424>impossible, if you're seeing people on a regular basis, connections are always built, so long as you're not anti-social and avoidantMan it sucks to be the gym weirdo. When people approach me I can read on their faces the discomfort, they're thinking whether to say hi or not, and I'm somewhat the same. They greet me with a low voice, with no full eye contact. I'm acknowledged but not fully. I myself try to greet people, when I come in and leave, but I can always sense the awkwardness in the air.
>>77544860You’re going to the wrong gym, dude. Get a place with better people. Believe me, I get it: I used to work out at an LA Fitness, and it was all Chad Salesguy types and whores. Everybody thought I was weird for wanting to work hard in the gym. Pretty much most of the people at my current gym are like me.
