So what's the consensus on statins?
>>
>>77544612
wtf is that? Will it make my penis harder or make me stay hard longer?
>>
>>77544622
Why even post
>>
>>77544612
Personally, I approve of statins.
Hope this helps.
>>
>>77544612
more likely to die of a stroke, less likely to die of a heart attack. not worth it. take fish oil instead.
>>
>>77544612
Poision
>>
>>77544740
ahh, i see your parents aren't on the statin/blood pressure medication stack. it works very well and it is very effective and it is very safe.
signed
anon with elderly parents who are quite obese and still have perfect bloodwork yoy
>>
>>77544612
>>77544612
Why are you looking for the consensus of a 4chan board? The medical community has already decided these are good, which is why doctors prescribed them
>>
>>77544612
i never understood why statins are necessary. just stop eating animal products which is where cholesterol comes from
>>
>>77544612
idk what it is but it's probably good. I took it for a week and my penis has become significantly larger.
>>
>>77544740
>take fish oil instead.
statins are powerful enough that you need a big stack of different supps to get the same anti-atherosclerosis effect
>>
>>77545407
Or just eat antioxidants and avoid sneed oil. You guys are fuckin retarded.

Statins are deadly poison.
>>
>>77545407
Oh how oh how in the heck did humanity survive for tens of thousands of years without statins? We are so lucky there is a magic pill that saved the world and you all need it!

>statins
they lower your cholesterol but there are side effects. You pick the lesser evil and dont let all that tallow clog up your arteries. clogged up arteries are permanent so we keep eating the statins.
>>
>>77545393
>i never understood why statins are necessary. just stop eating animal products which is where cholesterol comes from
nigga r u stupid or sumthing. most of the time its genetic and your body just decides to make more LDL than HDL or you just eat too much tallow because you got memed into avoiding seed oils.
>>
>>77545461
lol they died of heart attacks at 50 instead of 75 fuckin retard. as long as they had kids before they died the human race would continue.
>>
>>77545532
Oh yes I know anon, I know. They were all dying at 50! I know! Our life expectancy has gone down in the past 10 years but I think statins are gonna even it out. Nobody lived past 50 before statins, fact. And they had no teeth!!! Those ancient bodies of 100+ year old people they dug up were just nazi chuds anyway probably. I got your back my nigger.
>>
>>77544622
you in TAMPA? I'll make your dick hard boi

They are fantastic, so long as you don't suffer any side effects from them.
>directly lowers apoB, the undisputed primary causal agent in ahterosclerosis
>improves endothelial function
>reduces clotting
>stabilizes already existing plaque
>lowers inflammation and oxidative stress
Third generation statins like rosuvastatin and pitavastatin are virtually side effect free, especially at low doses.
>inb4 i get called a shill for promoting 1 cent per pill generic drugs

In addition, statins also generally increase HDL particle count by 5-10%. More importantly, they increase HDL efflux (reverse cholesterol transport), making that increase in HDL-P even more substantial. Pitavastatin has the greatest effect.
>>77545701
>single typo
Is that really the best you can do?
>>
>>77544740
Statins reduce ischemic stroke risk. They improve virtually every marker relevant to atherosclerosis.
Statins do, however, marginally increase hemorrhagic stroke/aneurysm risk. This is likely due to the anti-clotting effect of statins.

They've also uncovered skeletons of men over 6'5 from thousands of years ago. Does that mean people weren't on average shorter then?

Take pitavastatin. I am no longer merely suggesting it. I am demanding it.

The consensus among doctors is that they're a magical panacea and any and all old people should be on these pills.
Then these old people mysteriously all get dementia, turn blind and die in a short few years. All of which is blamed on aging.

The consensus among anyone with a brain is that they're poison and should be avoided at all costs.

>but the pharma industry made a bunch of studies claiming that this incredibly profitable pill has lots of benefits!!
Shocking, I know.
>>
you should only take meds prescribed by a doctor
>>
>>77545914
I am a doctor and I prescribe you suicide

Unnecessary if people would just stop eating so fucking much and gorging themselves with hamburgers (with no buns, so they're healthy!!1). There is only a very small amount of people with genetic predisposition towards high cholesterol while also a healthy weight.

However, you have to remember that they give these drugs to fat retards. You can't expect those people to make lifestyle changes. So statins have to be prescribed. Sitting there virtue signaling about them does nothing to change reality.
>>
>>77545407
There is a dozen of simple supplement that each on their own prevent arterosclerosis better than statins.
>>
>>77545905
Absolute nonsense.
People with PCSK9 homozygous loss of function mutation have absolutely none of those issues despite having low double digit LDL-C levels, but they DO have vastly lower rates of atherosclerotic disease and basically do not accumulate plaque in their arteries.
>>
>>77545905
>>77546383
Another thing
>low cholesterol is a death sentence
cholesterol deniers ALWAYS abuse the fact that lipoprotein transporters of cholesterol are colloquially referred to as "cholesterol" in their arguments.
circulating lipoprotein levels contain like 1-2% of the total cholesterol in your body. they have very little to do with total cholesterol (the molecule) status in the body, most of which is produced de novo locally when required. They do have a FUCKLOAD to do with atherogenesis.
>>
>>77546357
It's telling how you didn't provide any evidence for your claim or list any of those supplements
>>
>>77546441
the truth is it'd take multiple pills and vastly more money in (unregulated) supplements to poorly replicate the effects of a single 10 cent pill of pharmaceutical grade rosuvastatin/pitavastatin
>>
>>77544612
Miracle drug, like glp-1s before glp-1s
>>
>>77544612
They work and if you have high LDL and some soft plaque, taking a low dose with virtually no side effects help your risk profile 20y from now.
>>
>>77544612
For 90-95% of the population who doesn't get muscle pain/damage statins are a wonder drug. For the rest, there's obicetrapib about to come out in Europe.
t. statin intolerant guy
>>
>>77545724
>Statins do, however, marginally increase hemorrhagic stroke/aneurysm risk. This is likely due to the anti-clotting effect of statins.
It would make sense if it only increased severity of it then, if it increases the chance it would mean that blood vessels weaken somehow.
>>
>>77544612
Ezetimibe
Ezetimibe/bempedoic acid. Lowers cholesterol while not increasing beetus or muscle weakness risk.
If your family’s heart explodes at young age, you may be eligible for PCS-K drugs.
>>
>>77548087
And? Are you saying thats not possible?
>>
>>77548098
Ezetimibe can also cause muscle damage although at lower rates than any statin. Bempedoic acid is safer but by itself it only lowers LDL-C by like 18-20%. PCSK9i are too expensive until 2030 at least. The only good alternative about to hit the market is obicetrapib.
>>
>>77544622
it prevents plaque in your blood vessels, which plaque build up in the blood vessels would prevent strong erections
>>
>>77544612
I take them. High cholesterol in my family even tho my mom excersises daily. My dad on the other hand is a fat boomer. No side effects and my ldl levels dropped by over half
>>
>>77548262
lucky you
My mom takes rosuvastatin but rest of family can't tolerate statins
>>
>>77548262
My wife takes a statin for the same reasons. Its literally genetic for some people she is 5'4" and 110lbs. We eat relatively healthy but her bloodwork is horrible compared to mine. Its definitely genetic for some people. Statin has her levels looking good and she doesnt have to do retarded dietary restrictions like no red meat ever again for the rest of her life. Now its like maybe once a week or two.
>>
>>77548281
It is definitely genetic and there's variation on how you Iiver functions. I eat better than my brother yet he has 70mg/dL and I have 115. Some pet have familial hypercholesterolemia and get 180+ values even if they turn vegan or fast.
>>
>>77548284
She has liver shit too I didn't know thay was directly related, thanks anon. Had her gall bladder removed too and thyroid issues. Some people are a fucking mess. I've never even broken a bone and have zero health issues my entire life. Didn't even need braces or glasses. It seems like its 80% genetics across the board.
