The irony of this pyramid is the majority belongs to the tip.
Conceptually base to tip:
>beggies & legumes are the only foodstuffs that belong at the base.
>fruit, fish, Poultry, Nuts on second level
>rice, maize, eggs, Dairy and Red Meat on third level
>Everything else at the top.

Anything with refined carbs and processed meat or is plain bad for you
Dairy, eggs and red meat are unhealthy except in limited amounts, the only reason it's placed lower in normie versions is industry lobbying
Fish and Chicken are the best animal protein sources
Ideally you'd eat enough veggies to satisfy your carb budget.

dark chocolate, in moderation, belongs with nuts as they are both mineral-dense but high calorie and high fat

I hope this thread lasts until tomorrow when I can get on a computer. It's a good concept and I would love to give you all the right answers.

There's certainly versions of most foods that can move them up or down.
Like whole grains are healthier than refined ones and tofu is not as healthy as unprocessed beans.
I'm skeptical if that warrants a whole tier though.
Black chocolate certainly is the least unhealthy thing that qualifies as candy so in that sense I agree. But then blueberries are equivalent and in taste and convenience to candy except for their price.

I'm curious what your criteria for "healthy" food is exactly. Is it simply vitamins per calorie or vaguely what is least processed?

Lettuce has like 0 nutrients tho.

Sort of already mentioned that, in short glycemic index or fiber content as a baseline.
Veggies are healthier than fruit because of sugar.
Diary and red meat get penalized because of saturated fat and calorie density. It's a bit of an over-simplification, plain yogurt is certainly healthier than processed cheese but it's the same tier regardless.
Grains are penalized because their inherently bad protein / calorie ratio as well as their, compared to veggies bad vitamin content.
Vitamins play a role but only synergistic with fiber and glycemic index.
Also some red meat like liver contains a lot of vitamins but I still wouldn't eat that regularly because the fats it has aren't the healthy kind. You're better of getting the good kinds of saturated fat from fish and avocados. That way you get the best macros, micros and also the most fiber.

ofc if you're bulking or do lots of cardio you'd have a hard time eating enough calories that way. That's what the 3rd tier is for, if you're cutting or maintaining it's best to just say on the lower two tiers.

It has some vitamins, but not many. The reason why I put it there is fiber.
Salads are normie westernoid diet compensation for generally not eating proper veggies anyway.
Personally I use a big ass wok and stir fry things like broccoli, carrots, beans and bamboo sprouts along with salmon and avocado oil.
Sort of expensive but still cheaper than any sort of takeout or food delivery.

Nutrients to calories ratio is really high though. Totally fine to eat a ton of lettuce daily. (Dressing isn't always good ofc)
