Is this worth doing

10 reps normal curls then 10 reps hammer curls for 3 sets nukes your arms
>>
>>77550031
Anyone else get wierd arm cramps when you bend your arms after doing hammer curls?

when im in bed after i legit cramp up when i fold my arms to sleep
>>
>>77550108
Eat a banana a day for 2 weeks see if that helps. If so you're low potassium. Its not normal, what you describe.
>>
>>77550031
These are more of a forearm workout for me

more like this but yeah

My left wrist is giga fucked so these are the only curls I can do without pain. They're okay.
>>
>>77550699
How or why is the wrist fucked.
>>
>>77550821
I don't know, maybe I fell and landed on it bad. It's just been fucked for years but only hurts for a few movements. Curls are the worst, but db bench also doesn't feel good. Neutral grip hammer curls are an easy way to avoid pain, and I can do chinups without issue. I also use neutral grip in db bench, and I genuinely think that way is better. I can keep the weights closer to my torso for better stability, and I can increase both rom and weight. I prefer that so much I also use neutral grip for db ohp.

>Anyone else get wierd arm cramps when you bend your arms after doing hammer curls?

that's cause brachialis' useful range is 0-90 degs of elbow flexion, and then you just cramp it out
>>
>>77550825
It's hopefully just muscle weakness and/or wrong technique. I used to avoid movements and use neutral grips etc all kinds of movements where I hardly have to even hold or squeeze the weight.

Barbell bench press was the worst and it's still somewhat of a weird movement. If I hold the weight too high on my hand, the wrists bend and can seriously hurt afterwards, but at one point I overcompensated to other direction and my thumb started hurting lol. Only on my left hand too, I have broken the wrist as a kid and it was in a cast so possible there's slight misalignment but nothing serious. Just need better strength and technique.
>>
>>77550108
I don't but I don't do them standing up with the rotation motion, I sit down, put my elbow against my knee/thigh and curl it toward my chest, is the standing variation with the rotation motion benefitial?
>>
>>77550103
So? His question is whether it's worth doing. Curling no weight as fast as you can for as long as you can nukes your arms too, but is definitely not worth doing. I want you to raise the bar on your next reply OP. This reply was trash but I know you can do it.
>>
What if you just do every curl in cable machine including the preacher curls because that way there's constant tension thru the whole movement? With the movement in op you can curl with cable behind your back too.
>>
>>77550124
Lost my shit to this
>>
>>77550974
Yes.
>>
>>77550031
For size yeah not development, barbell is heavier and basically increases your base/floor more.
>>
>>77550699
wrist cuff cable bicep curl?
>>
>>77551798

This is absolute faggotry, I did it because I broke a finger doing BJJ (did it as a teen, then a friend at my dorm insisted me to go with him, so I said fuck it, let's go, first roll, finger broken and a cracked rib), I already knew it wasn't worth the risk, but had to confirm it the hard way, I suppose, complete idiocy of me, what a fucking joke BJJ is. Fuck!

Anyway, short range of motion, don't really feel the squeeze, can't really load properly and don't passively train brachioradialis (which I personally like in this exercise), so it's a big fucking no for me.
>>
>>77550031
Yes but they're way better on a preacher bench or some kind of upper arm support.

>>77550825
It could be a TFCC injury. I have one too also in my left wrist and have the same problem with any sort of supinated curls. Pronated pushdowns like with a straight bar also arent possible. I'm doing some rehab now but it's been 8 months and it's still nagging. 1 variation I found that is workable is a unilateral cable curl with a D handle. It lets me angle my wrist/forearm at 45 degrees which doesnt aggravate it and allows me to not just do only hammer curls.
>>77551798
These surprisingly suck. It pulls the hairs on my forearm which hurts like a bitch.
>>77550031
It's a good movement. Guys with bi arms have been doing them for decades. It also obviously works your bicep as well, not just your forearm like retards on this board say. I'd only throw them in if you're doing 3 different bicep movements in your routine. Otherwise 2 supinated curls like preacher + incline db is probably more bang for your buck unless you're more advanced trying to bring the brachialis up.
>>
>>77550108
>>77550117
This happens to me pretty often but I always thought it was because I sometimes end up putting my entire weight on my hand and sometimes cutting out circulation entirely, will start monitoring after doing arms and I'll report my findings. I eat plenty of taters and baneens though don't think it's a potassium (K) issue.
>>
>>77550031
Why not just do them reverse?
>>
>>77550031
Yes.
>>
This + reverse curls and wrist curls for forearms
>>
>>77550031
i do them when my wrists hurt too much to do a normal curl
>>
>>77550031
Yes, it's good for generally thickening up your arms. Also bicep curls annihilate your elbow tendons and hammer curls probably use different tendons so you can maybe alternate normal curls and hammer curls.
>>
>>77550699
I started doing only neutral grip on all push and pull exercises years ago for elbow and shoulder health. Haven't looked back.
>>
>>77550108
fuck yeah bro
finally found someone else

>>77550117
doesn't work. Its kind of cramps, but not quite
>>
Not for me. Every time I want to go "heavy" talking 60lbs to 70lbs and up hammer curls, I end up injuring my tendon even though I'm shooting for 10 reps each. Cable curls of different variations have been far superior in terms of not being injured.
>>
Zottman curls fuck up my right arm hard for some reason even if I go down 15lbs from a comfortable hammer.

Dr. Mike Israetel hates them.
>>
>>77550031

look at your arms -> is it weak, then yes.

is it big, then it is optional.

2 digit iq monkey can understand this
>>
>>77550031
i prefer them on cable after regular curls
>>
better than regular curls or jerking off but I'd rather be doing rows or chin-ups
>>
>>77550108
I've never had a cramp in my life
>>
>>77550031
They need some kind of customizable ezcurl bar so that your physicality isn't dictated by such arbitrary stiflings and cope exercises.
>>
>>77553736
just dropped zottmans from my bicep routine
absolutely fucking hated doing them
i at first replaced them with a seated dumbbell curl, but i dropped that too and now just do reverse curls, curls and hammer curls
