How far will a pair of 60lb adjustable dumbbells get me?
push>incline chest and/or flies >tricep overheads>lat raises and shoulder presspull>2 curl variations>dumbbell row and pullover>pull-ups if you had a barlegs>RDL and split squat feel like it would work decent enough
>>77552107when i was a starting noob and natty, i used bowflex 552 exclusively.. after 2 years, i was able to attain 17" arms and 47" chest no pump at 5'10" and less than 15% body fat. i was able to do two arm overhead extension at max 52.5lbs for 50-60 reps and chest press for also 50-60 reps. for dumbbell curls, i stayed at 45lbs for max 30-40 reps. i contemplated on getting a commercial power block for $1500, but decided to just go to a real gym, and it's been the best ever. you can certainly build a decent front physique at home, but it is nearly impossible to build dripping semicircular lats.
>>77552146What about your legs and assI already have a decent upper body from doing pushups and pull ups but chicken legs
>>77552107not that far. People who only have dumbbells never are serious about working out to begin with though
>>77552130120lbs rdl has no room for progression>do it single legit's too balance limited. hitched deadlift maybe?split squats are less limited but still much more limited than upper body. can you get a wall mounted rack and barbell and plates op? there are some compact options these days.
>>77552107I have the 40kg/90lb versions, the 60lbs arent worth it, spend a little more
>>77552170I have the old bowflex 552's that top pit at 55.2lbs. I wish I had whatever the bigger ones are. But I also have Olympic plates and oly dumbell handles, so from 60lbs on up it's fine, just kind of a hassle.
>>77552184Top out at 52.5 I should have said.
>>77552107If you got elite level genetics, get higher capacity. Normies will never progress far enough to use 60lb dumbbells.
>>77552152i didn't train legs aside from hiking. you think you have decent upper body by doing push ups, but i don't know. people who say they have decent body have really shitty body and it's not possible to build real 3d chest with push ups alone.
>>77552196theyre in pounds not kilograms retard
>>77552107If you clean and press them, and also snatch then for time you can bring it over
>>77552107What the fuck is it about adjustable dumbbells that attracts skinnyfat DYELs so much? I know probably a dozen people with a set of these things, and they're all sitting completely unused.Go to a fucking gym and lift weights. As heavy as you can, then left heavier weights tomorrow. It's not complicated.
>>77552651>I know probably a dozen people with a set of these things, and they're all sitting completely unused.says more about how good you are at picking friends
>>77552107you can get your upper body jacked enough to get some bitches, that's for sure>>77552130 this is pretty much perfect
>>77552152you do squats and lunges and other exercises while holding the dumbells to add weight
>>77552107The issue with adjustable dumbells are you can never really get a good workout in.They feel unstable in the hand, you will spend more time and effort trying to place them down ever so nicely than actually lifting them. The mind muscle connection will never form and you will 100% regret buying them
>>77553934Never touched one in your life, huh?
>>77552107Get the long olympic dumbbells they don't look as weird irl and then you have extra weights for a barbell and it is a whole other set of 25s-2.5s aka 1pl8 of weight. At that point you might as well spend another 50 on a barbell and 100 on a squat rack to get a real workout.
>>77552152>>77553924What this guy said but you can hike, walk, squats, Romanian/one leg Romanian, step ups, lunges, all sorts of shit with adjustable.
>>77554316He's right when it comes to cheap plastic garbage like bowflexes. They are a dyel trap for poverty cucks who aren't willing to commit to the good brands, because they know they won't actually take lifting seriously.
>>77552107they'll get you to the point where you order/buy normal ones and throw away the adjustable meme shit
>>77552146>when i was a starting noob and natty, i used bowflex 552 exclusively.. after 2 years, i was able to attain 17" armsStopped reading. Buy an ad instead of posting the most retarded shit.
>>77554551I've got the bowflex 552s. Never once worried about their durability while using them. I don't bang or drop weights like a dyel trying to prove something, though.I don't know, maybe if I had the ones that go up to 90 I'd feel differently, but 52.5lbs in one hand isnt enough for me have trouble handling them nicely. Probably no difference, though. When I assemble a 100lb dumbbell out of my oly plates and handles, I'm not throwing that around like a child either. Is that the actual answer? Anyone that can't take care of adjustables is outing themselves as a dyel child?
>>77552130Step ups on a bench or a plyometric box with adjustable dumbbells is good for legs too. I always thought that shit was a meme for hags, but with enough weight it will give you a solid workout, and the isolation is a bonus
