Do you do them?
>>77553922No, there's no point. All it does is make recovery take longer.
Sometimes. For example if I wasn't satisfied with the set because I chose the wrong weight/didn't go hard enough, or if I want a pump and I know I won't be hitting that body part again. It depends on the exercise and body part as well.
>>77553922Sometimes. Usually on my last set if I think I might have form issues or if I thinkbthe set will have less than 4 reps
>>77553922Yes, as long as you go to failure on every drop set and go until you get to the lightest weight and go to failure on that.
>>77553922It's worth doing it on the last set.
>>77553922Completely retarded.
>>77553922Almost every last set I do is a drop set. I feel like they helped me develop in the past so I continue using them.
>>77553922Only time I do them is when I want to get a really big pump
>>77553922Pause sets are better and you don't need to change the weight
>>77553922Nah. I'd rather do heavy sets, walk on the treadmill or do something else, then come back and do some light sets
Drop set? No buddy im picking this weight UP im not DROPPING this WEIGHT until IM JUICY
>>77553922I guess it depends on what works best for you?I do drop sets, especially when I plateoueue. And it has helped me up my strength.
>>77553922This is the only thing that helped me progress on hip abductions
>>77553922Motor unit recruitment is maximized by time you get to MMF. After that it drops off and all the ones you really want to train are no longer recruited since they really can't be recruited. They're already flooded by calcium ions which inhibits their ability to contract. It takes a couple of minutes to clear that all out. If you're not training to failure the drop in weight takes you further away from MMF since the brain absolutely does not use motor units it doesn't need to use. It's just a shitty version of cardio. You're not doing the cardio long enough to get the benefit. It's not heavy enough to actually develop your muscles. Waist of time.
>>77553922No. I never got stronger doing dropsets.
>>77553922Not in the traditional sense.>2 sets of 5 @ 5RM>2sets of 10 @ 75%5RM>1set of 20 @ 50%5RMWith 1m30s rest between each set. Same mechanist principle at play but also not. I've been able to progress more at the top end & get through plateaus by increasing on lower levels first.
