whats a good dumbell/barbell set for a brokeGOD such as myself?
>>

You should remember to check out second hand stores.
>>
>>77554676
would ebay be a good site to use
>>
>>77554710
No. Try being patient and check facebook marketplace
>>
>>77554857
there is no need to be patient to get weights on fb marketplace. there must be at least a dozen listings in your area for this shit at all times. weight training equipment is the ultimate "buy it and never use it" thing for normies.

Dumbells are a money sink. Get a barbell instead.

Avoid standard 1" trash like that pic, 2" oly barbell and plates only. The cheapest adjustable dumbbells would be handles like what Titan offers, also 2" oly, with extra 5 and 10lb plates and 2 pairs of bar collars you will trust to put over your face. Otherwise you're better off skipping the cheap 50-60lb plastic set that you might find on a walmart shelf and going up to the 70-100lb range, but expect to pay $750 or more for that.
Even then for a home gym to be worthwhile you need a rack and adjustable bench too, and space for them. Home gyms are for people who own their home and can spend at least a little money. Poor people and renters pay for a gym subscription.

>Poor people and renters pay for a gym subscription

I'd like to do that but I'm way too self conscious of the way i look to the point where im willing to spend copious amounts of money just so i can at least look a little appealing

I got one cap oly handle. I like one arm rows. That's all I use it for, everything else is better done on a barbell. If I had a setup for seal rows I'd just use that.
>curls
dip belt and chins
>tricep isolation
cgbp, tricep dips, etc

I know, but I wanted to cover my bases in case OP doesn't instantly see an amazing deal and complains

You are screwing yourself over not starting with a gym membership. You should know what it's like to do a real routine on real equipment with good form, with stronger people around you to talk to or at least observe. You should learn what equipment you would need/want for a future home gym and how to look for good quality stuff. Having machines and nice cable setups is really helpful to experience even if you won't be able to have an equivalent at home later. It fucking sucks to pick up lifting with a copium poverty home gym when you have no idea what you're doing. You're just gonna spin your wheels, make no progress, not enjoy anything you try, then let it collect dust or put it back up on the marketplace for some other retard to do the same thing with it.

Nobody cares about you or that you're a fat faggot. Everybody at the gym is busy doing their own thing. Even someone like me who hates and looks down on fat faggots had no problem seeing them at the gym. Just wear earbuds and listen to music.

You pick that to argue about? You don't know how public places work? Everyone simultaneously glances around but minds their own business, you're not actually alone in the entire building retard. Nobody's going to fuck with you unless you do something crazy stupid, and if you walk up to someone to nicely ask them a question they'll probably try to give a decent answer. Or you can just shut the fuck up and pretend they aren't there.

or i could psyop terminally online losers to mail happy fun packages to random gyms all over the planet :D

I have collected dumbbells up to 40 pounds slowly over the years on low ball offers on marketplace and it’s very nice for warmups and lighter exercises. I also DIYed a pulley system I hang dumbbells on and that’s pretty convenient having fixed weights.

There's nothing wrong with 1" sets especially when you get a deal from someone clearing out their unused gym equipment and end up with everything you need for $200. Just avoid the plastic plates filled with plaster.

Keep checking fb marketplace, craigslist, kijiji etc. Sometimes you'll find some one with a rack, plates, bench etc who wants to get rid of it all. Buying cheap new equipment off amazon etc isn't worth it, it will be barely fit for purpose.
