There are NO health benefits to eating meat, only detriments. Meat consumption causes atherosclerotic plaque to build up in your veins, which is the mechanistic cause of
>stroke
>diabetes
>heart disease
>heart attacks
Meat has heavy metals in it which causes alzheimers and dementia.
Meat has hormones and germs in it. People get sick from food poisoning so frequently it's retarded.
Meat fucks up your gut microbiome, causes inflammation, and makes you hungrier than you would be if you ate something healthy instead, calorie for calorie.
Notice that over the course of dozens if not hundreds of threads, ketolards and murdervores have failed to produce even ONE (1) study which shows a benefit to consuming more meat ceteris paribus. This is due to the abject nature of ketolards, which, combined with their immoral and unscientific behaviour, makes them retarded. Let's all pray for their arteries, along with the billions of farm animals they continue to genocide.

This kills the CICOjeet.
>But wait, isn’t weight loss just about eating less and moving more? I mean, isn’t a calorie a calorie? That’s what the food industry wants you to think. The notion that a calorie from one source is just as fattening any other is a trope broadcast by the food industry as a way to absolve itself of culpability. Coca-Cola itself even put an ad out there emphasizing this “one simple common-sense fact.” As the current and past chairs of Harvard’s nutrition department put it, this “central argument” from industry is that the “overconsumption of calories from carrots would be no different from overconsumption of calories from soda….” If a calorie is just a calorie, why does it matter what we put in our mouths? Let’s explore that example of carrots versus Coca-Cola. It’s true that in a tightly controlled laboratory setting, 240 calories of carrots (10 carrots) would have the same effect on calorie balance as the 240 calories in a bottle of Coke, but this comparison falls flat on its face out in the real world. You could chug those liquid candy calories in less than a minute, but eating 240 calories of carrots would take you more than two-and-a-half hours of sustained constant chewing. [Laughing] Not only would your jaw get sore, but 240 calories of carrots is like five cups—you might not even be able to fit them all in.

This. I knew a vegan girl in college. She is currently dying of what can only be described as "everything". Skeletally thin, looks like death (used to be pretty), she claims her health problems are caused by two viruses which are basically common herpes and the flu. Her body can't fight it off for ~some reason~. She refuses to blame the veganism. She is apparently cycling through doctors but none of them can help her. She is being tight lipped on social media about just what they are saying, but last I heard from her she was ditching mainstream medicine and going to some sort of vegan herbal medicine quackery instead.

To be frank and total honest vegans are superior because they reject biology they say to God, no I cannot participate in this cycle to the best of their ability. >WATCH: How Big Meat Manipulated the Science
https://youtube.com/watch?v=mQBkAGCxgbo
Why are ketolards so easily manipulated?
>“Participants in the Women’s Health Initiative reduced meat intake modestly, resulting in a modest reduction in mortality related to breast cancer. This finding in no way supports the notion that there is ‘No need to reduce red or processed meat consumption for good health.’ Rather, it shows that modest dietary changes yield modest benefits.” “As an analogy, if studies showed that modest reductions in tobacco use yielded only modest health benefits, it would be inaccurate and dangerous to suggest that there is ‘No need to reduce tobacco use for good health.’” “To say that small increases in meat consumption only cause small increases in the risk of disease doesn’t mean that eating meat is good for you. That’s like saying that smoking 24 cigarettes a day increases your risk of lung cancer only a little more than smoking 20 cigarettes a day [being careful not to include any studies that compared smoking 24 to smoking none], and then erroneously concluding that smoking isn’t that bad for your health.”

Despite all that, despite ignoring evidence, excluding evidence, the meat panel “nonetheless found entirely consistent, clinically meaningful, statistically significant adverse effects of eating more meat and processed meat on all-cause mortality, on cardiovascular disease, on cancer, and on diabetes. That they did so despite the obstacles they put on the path to this finding is nearly incredible, and directly bespeaks the magnitude of adverse effects of meat and processed meat intake on health.”

Based on their meta-analyses of large cohorts, dietary patterns with, again, just a moderate reduction in red and processed meat consumption were associated with lower total mortality by 13 percent, lower CVD mortality by 14 percent, lower cancer mortality by 11 percent, and a 24 percent reduced risk of type 2 diabetes.

So I wanted to start an own thread about this but I think it fits here as well. From 12 till 20 years old I was a vegetarian, but an unhealthy fat one. They I started lifting, eating tons of meat. Now, at +-35 years old, since around 3 months I again started eating vegetarian. First two months with a lot of proteinshakes and highly processed junk. Since a month I have been eating every day more or less exactly what you see on the screenshot (so protein from lentils, Tofu and dairy) and I feel great. Extremely agressive in a good way, energized, high T., motivated, 0 cravings. Training three times a week, havent done a PR attempt lately but my lifts have probably gone up. Its only anecdotal and probably has more to do with the fact that I eat very clean than with the fact I do not eat any meat, but still the difference is insane. I think my macros are good like this.(105 kg want to go down to 99 without losing strength.)

Lets look at the study
>https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2671114/
and see what's going on
>The Adventist Health Study-2 cohort, initiated in 2002–2006, longitudinally follows 97,000 Adventist church members in the U.S. and Canada
A very special group.
>aged ≥30 years
Uh oh. Churchgoers in general are usually of the older population anyways regardless of church.
>The food-frequency portion of the questionnaire covered 130 hard-coded foods or food groups that are commonly consumed and space for ∼50 write-ins and are assessed for diet during the past year.
This is the type of shit constantly criticized about nutritional studies.
>A standard portion size was given for each item, and subjects could select that or a smaller or larger portion.
The only person who really knows how much their consuming is the autistic bodybuilder who diets down to 5% bodyfat. Maybe those who are generally into fitness have a much better idea. The average person has no fucking clue and that probably applies to the Adventist church.
>Because on average ∼7% data were missing for any particular variable, multiple imputation was used to fill missing information

This. Veganism is an ideology pertaining to the ethical treatment of animals. You could technically eat meat as a vegan, if you ate roadkill for example, you would not cause harm or treat an animal unethically. I eat plant based, it helped lower my blood pressure, and I did starting strength while eating a plant based diet and made good gains. Eating animals causes all kind of chronic health problems. The challenge of eating plant based is you basically have to make all your own food.

Okay? Beans and soja milk have protein AND fiber AND low calorie density, and all of those also make you feel full. Meat is inflammatory and highly calorically dense. Substituting just a small amount of animal protein for plant protein is proven to reduce chronic diseases.
> in 2016, a landmark study was published out of Harvard, involving more than 100,000 men and women, that found that replacing animal protein with plant protein was associated with lower risk of dying prematurely. The worst seemed to be processed meat like bacon, as well as egg protein (the egg whites), but swapping in even just 3 percent plant protein for any of the animal proteins: processed meat, unprocessed meat, chicken, fish, eggs, or dairy was associated with a significantly lower risk of arguably the most important endpoint of all, death.

>Indian vegetarian diets differ from typical Western ones — they frequently include more dairy, refined grains, and fried foods, and less emphasis on whole plant foods or nuts.
>Broader Indian life-expectancy data (from National Family Health Survey and related analyses) show differences mainly by caste, religion, region, and socioeconomic status, not diet. For example, higher-caste groups and certain religious communities have higher life expectancy than Scheduled Castes/Tribes, but these groups overlap only partially with vegetarianism and are heavily confounded by income, education, access to healthcare, and living conditions.

Most of the standard american diet is plant based junk food. Ironically, the items are vegan too. Meat is just included in the diet, yet you believe meat is the entire problem.

Basically, acording to your logic, if you had these Walmart people take their typical mcdonalds order of burger, fries, soda, sauces, and pastries and remove the small burger patty from the bruger leaving only buns, they would be somehow healthier.

All goyslop fast food arguments are out of the window. You fry the slop in seed oils, you attribute the negative effects to saturated fat , its the seed oils. I'm a different anon. I would say heme iron is also bad. But besides saturated fat and heme iron I don't think meat is that bad healthwise, I would consider lean chicken breast a health food. It's an atrocity ethically/economically/environmentally however.

>False, German Nutrition Society (DGE) does not.

> All other agencies state carefull and adequate planning and monitoring is required, extra supplementation is needed
Yup, everyone should pay more attention to their diet. Would solve a lot of health problems in society.

None of that matters. We have so much data showing us they are one of the best options for liquid fat consumption. What something was intended for is such a nothing argument. Of course cico is 'real'. You can't make energy out of nothing. It's a natural law not an opinion. The type of food impacting ktber factors and INDIRECTLY possibly affecting weight loss is irrelevant as that still comes down to cico: it's just that relevant variables have changed.
>>
>>77571520
>meat causes alzheimers via heavy metals
Citation needed. Some foods contain contaminants, that doesn't prove eating meat causes dementia.
>hormones and germs
Hormones depend on the animal and country. Germs are a food safety issue, not proof meat is inherently unhealthy. Cook it properly.
>ruins your microbiome, causes inflammation, makes you hungrier
Protein is generally satiating, so the hunger claim is especially dubious. Microbiome effects depend on the overall diet. Processed meat is not the same thing as chicken or unprocessed beef.
>not ONE study showing benefits
Moving the goalposts. Meat provides B12, iron, zinc and complete protein. Whether eating MORE improves long-term health is a different question. Nobody needs to claim steak is a superfood to point out that your argument is bullshit.

You can make a case against eating lots of processed meat. Pretending every type of meat has identical effects is poor.

>image
Proves nothing, but you know that. It could be that people who tend to overconsume tend to be meat-eaters. It could be it's easier to overconsume when eating meat. It's a question from which new questions arise, but in itself it's basically meaningless.
>>
>>77576725
>You can make a case against eating lots of processed meat. Pretending every type of meat has identical effects is poor.
Of course, it matters what people replace the meat with. Replacing even 3 percent of calories from animal protein with plant protein is linked to living longer, but eggs were the worst. Yes, replacing red meat protein with plant protein sources may lower overall mortality more than 10 percent, but getting rid of egg protein, and we’re talking more than 20 percent lower risk of premature death. So, if someone reduces meat consumption by swapping a burger for an egg salad sandwich, that particular reduction in meat could mean more mortality.

Thats retarded, there is a direct link between frying in vegetable oils and the creation of trans fat. Partially hydrogenated vegetable oils that are used for frying and contain large amounts of industrial trans fat; ordinary liquid vegetable oils can also form small amounts of trans fat when overheated or reused repeatedly. You cant separate the 2, they are linked.

>>77576306
>It's an atrocity ethically/economically/environmentally however.
malpractice in food industry is not an argument against eating meat. Its an argument against eating meat from these sources. Go to a local farmer or raise your own livestock in a smalls scale is the best option imo.

>They are neutral
Semantics, they are not promoting it and they explicitly mention it requires medical attention. As if raising a child properly and making sure nutrition is adequate is not a task on its own, pushing this meme diet (in)directly on a child is abuse.

An ill-planned vegan diet, without taking nutrient supplements and without consuming fortified foods) from pregnant women, breastfeeding women, children and adolescents can lead to health impairments and developmental damage. This can manifest itself, for example, in disorders of blood formation, growth retardation, bone decalcification, rickets and partially irreversible neurological disorders such as mental retardation express.

It objectively is. Producing plant products will almost always be more efficient than feeding/sheltering/raising animals for their meat. It's why livestock farmers get so many subsidies.

>whereas for vegans you need to supplement DHA, B12, Iodine, vitamin D.
Salmon is the best vitamin D source and it's still kind of a shit source, so pretty much everyone should be supplementing. Vegans can get more than enough iodine from seaweed; I'm an omnivore and my iodine intake from seaweed dwarfs my iodine intake from dairy.

What do livestock eat?
>livestock can be bred on non-areable land and fed by by-products that humans can not digest
If livestock out number and out-eat us, then explain how they could survive eating our byproducts? Thats like me feeding a village with an apple core. We have to grow food specifically for livestock. The USDA confirms this.

They are plenty bioavailable. Plenty if literature supports this. People would not use them if they did not work.

When the alternative is the continued forced breeding/slaughter of billions of sentient beings and destruction of the planet, I would say it's a good argument. I could even make the zoonotic argument and say it's threatening to human life as well.

>You are an anti abortion advocate too then?
Sorry "Innocent sentient".

>Pushing a meme diet
Veganism isn't a diet. It's a moral stance. We all force our morals onto our children, thats literally what raising kids is.

>Its the olive oil component
If this was the only study in existence on the topic then sure you could say that. When we have dozens of other studies all over the world spanning hundreds and thousands of people showing seed oils having significant benefit as well, then no I would disagree.

>If livestock out number and out-eat us, then explain how they could survive eating our byproducts
Biological byproducts from other industries. This is already the case. Yes you grow food for livestock because they produce more energy dense food in return. Sun > grass/plants > animals. The complexity increases and so does the nutritional profile. You need more plant matter by weight for the same amount of energy.

>Provide any evidence for this
Just read the label of all your needed supplements, the plastic bottle, the ingredients, the machines to dose the pills, the logistics, supply lines while you could just feed chickens in your garden with food scraps and eat an egg a day. But you memers need a complete industry conjured up and then claim to be morally.

>Sorry "Innocent sentient".
So killing an an animal is wrong but an unborn infant is fine ?

>Veganism isn't a diet.
Its a selection of what to eat and what not. Its a diet. And you make it a personality trait. Dont use the "raising children" argument if you think its morally fine to abort them.

>When we have dozens of other studies all over the world spanning hundreds and thousands of people showing seed oils
If they all include olive oil and other vegetable oils they are not an argument that seed oils are bad.

>There is this section called "Statistical Analysis" where they explain how they adjusted the data for those confounders

>You need more plant matter by weight for the same amount of energy.
False. You lose calorie conversion. Why would you lie about something that takes less than a minute to research? Are you going to ignore the USDA literally saying they grow the food for livestock?

>"Just look at the bottle man and like the vibes, I just don't FEEEEL like it's better for the environment"
Great fucking evidence. Also lmao at you think you don't need logistics and supply lines to slaughter, package, refrigerate and transfer meat. Not to mention raising/feeding/sheltering the animals like I mentioned earlier.

>So killing an an animal is wrong but an unborn infant is fine ?
If the infant is sentient then it is wrong. If it is not then I do not care. However many weeks that would be is the threshold.

>Its a selection of what to eat and what not.
No, because I would eat lab grown meat. It's entirely ethical.

>If they all include olive oil and other vegetable oils they are not an argument that seed oils are bad.
I already posted them. I can post more but I hit the post limit.

>You cant math away the fact that sedentary lifestyle combined with smoking is exponentially worse to cardiovascular health than moving and not smoking.
You can. I know you have never taken a statistics class, but you absolutely can. And again the data coincides with previous finding on the topic. It's not "one" study I am using to prove my claim but the entire massive body of evidence.

Because of evolutionary demographic growth, dietary decisions based on ethical consideration have little consequence on global supply and demand. Global beef production has consistently increased each decade since the last century. The moral contribution of self-sacrifice is diluted by competitive selection.

The solution to valence inequality isn’t socialism-like, but based on technological development, such as lab grown meat or technologies with higher health, taste, and affordability benefits.

>Delusional. Even for cows it's only 5%.
Kek, grass fed beef commands a premium over cows eating other things. Bovines, cows, bisons main food source in the wild is grass and hay in winter. Thats why they have 5 stomachs. They do feed them grain remains from for example breweries but these are all non natural sources. Pigs are omnivores but genetically similar to boars. In nature they eat roots, insects and whatever they find. Industial farmed pigs are fed garbage. So the meat is garbage and thus unhealthy. That does not make meat per se bad, its malpractise in the food industry.

>You lose calorie conversion
Its energy density, a concept most vegans struggle with. 1 kg of meat and fat is more energy dense than 1 kg of plant matter. You seem to disregard the fact that when talking about energy BALANCE as in, energy in VS out, biological systems do have "losses" in the form of "waste products" but for bovines these products actually fixate carbon and nitrogen in the soil. Also the grass grows because of the sun. Beef is condensed solar energy therefore it is more nutritious and energy dense.

>need logistics and supply lines to slaughter, package, refrigerate and transfer meat.
Except they feed more people therefore they are more efficiënt than the 3 % vegans requiring meme pills for there meme diet.

>>77581299
>would eat lab grown meat
Hollow protein, it is not as nutricious as most of the benefits from beef come from the 5 stomachs of the cows. But please do eat the slop, you will die faster. This is also highly ethical.

>I already posted them. I can post more but I hit the post limit.
The argument still stands. Olive oil, not a seed oil btw is what makes up most of the benefits in the studies. There are more important factors like smoking, alcohol and movement important for cardiovasculair health. Meme studies with meme results.

>Hollow protein, it is not as nutricious as most of the benefits from beef come from the 5 stomachs of the cows.
Highly depends exactly on the process used to grow it. Spirulina for example has *much* higher protein content by weight than beef, proving that can be achieved in biological systems, but some lab-grown meats could be significantly less than real cows.

Grass FINISHED beef. And like I said less than 5% of cows are grass fed.

Yes. But it requires much more energy to produce the 1 kg of meat. Several times more.

How about you just provide any evidence for your claims instead of personal theories. I don't know how else to argue with someone like you other than "you have no idea what you're talking about" Every environmental organization on the planet agrees animal agriculture is massively harming the planet and is the number one cause of deforestation, so I'm curious what enlightened source you have the contradicts that
