My new gym only has one of these with no traditional benches or power racks. Ive never used one before so I tried it out to bench press and its... different. Its at a weird angle and it feels more like an isolation than a barbell lift. How do i use this thing properly in my routine. What are some good exercises to use with it
>>77586244>How do i use this thing properly in my routine. You don't. You find another gym.>What are some good exercises to use with itGetting paralyzed, retard.
how did those people get paralyzed on smith machines?
>>77586254well for starters they were retarded enough to use smith machines
>>77586252>You don't. You find another gym.I wish i could, but money is tight and this gym is free. They do have a barbell but they dont have any racks. Do i try to use the smith machine as a rack? Is that even possible?
>>77586244>gym has no racksNot a gym.
>>77586244I like shoulder press and incline pressing on the smith. Some people really like split squats or regular squats with them. Only problem with them is how some are angled oddly and can make the ROM feel weird.
>>77586254They literally have safeties
>>77586254>can't flat bench on it unless you are a dipshit>can't bail
>>77586252FpbpSmith machines are so fucking dangerous
>>77586383So do power racksThe difference is that the smith machine WILL NOT let you bailForget to set the safeties? Dead or injured No rolloff, no tilt off, just the absolutely worst possible outcome
>>77586244U da Weak bitch
>>77586254its literally a guillotine with a unnatural bar path
>>77586383yea but theres that one video of the fitness milf meeting other people injured by the smith machine
>>77586276there are gyms with proper equipment for literally $10-15/month, choose your priorities faggot, is it worth $15/month to get a proper workout or would you rather get paralyzed on a smith memechine?
>>77586276>They do have a barbell but they dont have any racks.steinborn squator zercher from the ground
>>77586254the restricted path of movement puts unnatural pressure on the spine and leads to injuryi suggest staying away from any heavy spine-loaded squat-style movements
>>77586391responsible for more injuries than any other piece of machiners
>>77586244>how to use properlyinverted rows and pull ups (if you’re below 5’5). they’re also excellent to hang your towel and storing plates
>>77586540Well part of the problem is that this gym is close to my job so i can workout at night, whereas any other gym is going to be closed by the time I get off work>>77586661The gym also has those bad pull up bars with the slants and big gap in the middle. Its so wide it causes my shoulders to hurt. Ill try using the Smith machine as a pull up bar. >>77586373The angle is so weird. Im getting used to it on the bench, but especially for squats its like you have to stand a bit away from your natural starting point and instead of up and down its like foward and over. I dont like it and might switch to split squats.>>77586651Ive been doing one pl8 squats just to get used to it, but idk. It just feels so unnatural. Even watching other people squat on it, it doesnt line up right
