#5 ranked ufc fighter john silva struggles with 65lb dumbbell presses
>>
>>77597862
Can you post the video please? Regardless, why does this even matter? Clearly whatever he is doing is working for him, so why tf would it matter what he presses?
>>
>>77597862
65kg is like 150lbs. Thats a lot if youre not benching every week
>>
>>77597869
it's way more than that dumbells are usually way harder
>>
>>77597866
>>77597869
He's doing a high amount of reps and pic is at end of the set. Unsure what op gets by creating this thread
>>
>>77597869
Dyel
>>77597871
Dyel
>>
>>77597869
65lbs. Not kg
>>
>>77597862
Biggest guy in my gym benches like 330 but still uses the 55 db for incline db bench. I think it's just completely bottlenecked by wrists and forearms.
>>
>>77597875
Lmao look at this retard pretending anyone cares how much he benchs. Get fucking real niglet.
>>
>>77597862
Yet he's #5 in his sport, and you are a loser who has never nor will ever see a vagina in his life, have any meaningful friendships, and will die bitter and alone (it's all your fault btw)
>>
>>77597884
>>77597887
All my hinge dates ask me how much I bench and you don’t lift
>>
>>77597888
bro thinks basic interactions with women is worth mentioning. lmao.
>>
>>77597862
that's just 30kg?
If you can bench press ~100kg, you should absolutely be able to press 30kg on each hand

And anyone should be capable of lifting their own bodyweight, so if you're ~200lb, you should easily be capable of doing 100lb each hand
>>
>>77597862
Striking is his background which is a fast contact sport which means that big, slow/strong muscles are practically meaningless. The idiot mma coaches always have them do high reps too so it's going to keep him weaker.
>>
>man who specialized is bad at a different specialization
>>
This is the kind of retardation you can only see when OP is anonymous
>>
How are people unaware you can stretch lower on the dumbbell over a barbell, making the barbell infinitely inferior on presses?
>>
>>77597862
Bomb > gun > knife > bodyweight
>>
>>77597883
He does that because the db incline position is pure cancer to get in and out of. It's a garbage exercise trying to do alone.
>>
>>77598696
You have a messed up understanding of things

>>77599027
This sort of reply always sounds so fat
>>
>>77597862
Ufc is fake and rigged. Full of weak roided posers
>>
>>77599209
That sounds like he is doing dumbbells as an active recovery workout to try and grease the joints
>>
>>77597862
The best way to increase striking muscles and speed is resistance training and hitting the bag. The best way to train grappling muscles are in the back. Legs for driving.

Unironically the chest is for looks.
>>
>>77597862
They also train for several hours a day doing fighting which I'm sure they are learning very much instead of getting as strong as possible before weight cutting anyways. Being stuck to a weight class is so bad for getting stronger, you are cheating the cut so why argue that a small amount of fat tissue is not worth more muscle.
>>
>>77599352
Infinitely hitting the bag is atupid just like fight training so often before lifting. They don't even have rest days and they think that eating one single meal is enough fuel to hate themselves until they burn the calories which just destroys any hope of building muscle and it will possibly even catabolize muscle.
>>
>>77599352
Your chest is part of the kinetic chain in most punches?
>>
>>77598502
Almost no one dumbell benches their bodyweight you dyel faggot pretender. Its much more rare than a 2 plate bench.

Is this bait? Those are pounds, not kilos.

This website is so depressing. I just refreshed it and read this reply. Every reply I read on here is guaranteed to be the stupidest thing someone can say.

only retards are left on this board
>>
>>77599387
Sorry, but I'm judo practicioner/competitor of +20 years, 30kg dumbell presses are feathers to me
Although Silva is a manlet and weighs only 66-70kg, I'm 90-95kg

Improve your reading comprehension

doesn't stop me from doing 40 on each hand

What happened? Noob funnel destroyed by short-form video (though posts actually peak in early 2021) and posters only attrit because there's less to say when you've long been lifting? Leader of general text -> visual cultural transition because of such direct connection between looks and trustworthiness? Age demographics big contributor?

Obviously the internet is dying in general but the same thing happened on reddit; all the fitness subs have been ghost towns for years while other parts sputter along. Misc gone. I thought t-nation was too but I just checked and the over 35 section is popping off so I might have to chalk this one up as another "young people have abandoned the text-based internet" indicator.

>>77597862
He's just like me fr
>>
>>77597862
UFC muscle is different than the weightloft muscle
>>
>>77597862
It's quite hard to pack size and muscle while being a fighter. You generally end up doing 4 to 6 hours of cardio a day 5 to 6 times a week
>>
>doesn’t lift
>roids
>mogs 99% of fit
>>
>>77597869
I've done 5 reps of 75 (but then again I have manlet arms). Get back into the gym and fucking get it!
>>
>>77597887
I like pasta and all but I have a gut and I need to shred that fat
>>
>>77599501
It’s been like this for years now, and I would even argue it’s been like this from the start. The older you get and the more you learn about a specific topic, the more you realize a layman’s understanding is full of misinformation and arrogance.
>>
>>77599816
i wonder where all the r9k losers went. /fit/ was fun in 2014. The current board is a weird amalgamation between reddit garbage and /x/
>>
>>77599816
i ve went through most board you can see that all gradually lose daily posts sine 2021, except for lgbt. why are the faggots not falling for the titkok shit and why arent they all on reddit

John Silva weighs 145lbs and is a fighter not a lifter. Fighters don’t need to use alot of weight to train for peak fighting capability. Benching and squatting with weights that are around his bodyweight for reps is what I’d expect his weight training to look like.
>>
>>77601782
There are still plenty of them, they've held pretty steady for since 2019. The board didn't get a COVID/boomer bump presumably because it's mainly for the most depressed teenagers in the world. It's basically what it was a decade ago but a lot gayer and has the born in the third world woeposting that used to only be on /int/.

>>77601789
There are a lot more gay and trans people now, possibly because of the population spike, /tttt/ is the most recent part of 4chan to make any cultural impact, reddit has too many olds, and they're too insecure for tiktok.
>>
>>77601793
He walks around at least 170
