Well?
>>108872103
>>108872103I'm not playing Skyrim again, Todd.
>>108872110like (you) have a say in that
I am not a PC gamer.
He's right. It's not 2016. It's been a whole decade and your 1060 is not cutting it anymore.
I did. Still not playing Bethesda games however.
>>108872103but Todd buying a $3000 video card doesnt fix shitty gameplay.Upgrade your developers
>>108872103>my PC is worth $30k, why isnt yours?
>>108872103I upgraded my 970 to 4060 in my i7 4790k rig, and maxed the ram to 32gb.Good enough till the fake imaginary crisis ends.
I don’t need to. Hop on Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart.
>>108872103>bought a 5070 to replace my dying 1050ti>figured I might as well try some gaming on it>shit can't even run UE5 games on medium 1440p native and hit stable 60fps (9850x3d/128gb)What now todd?
My Steam Deck fulfills basically all my gaming needs. My PC severely needs an upgrade, but I'll get a Steam Machine because at this point it's all I need and I liked the Deck enough to trust Valve to deliver decently priced hardware with good enough performance.
>>108872103I'm still on GTX 970 and there's not a single game that would make upgrading worthwhile.GTA V works (not very well, but was able to finish it without pain). RDR2 is too boring to make me care about it. Other newer games that were worth playing like for example THPS remakes work fine (shows what /g/ knows about Unreal Engine - in reality its optimization is great when used well) or released on Switch and not PC.Maybe GTA VI will change that.
>>108872103Yes
>>108872507GTA ran perfectly fine on GTX 980, is 970 that much weaker? Only sucked when you tried to do 4k bullshit screenshots.
>>108872103Fuck off Todd.
>>108872540Yes, it is. Fans spinning 100%, computer starts glitching out.It worked fine in the past (not stable 60+ FPS though), but now the thermal paste on the graphics card is old, my PSU (or maybe even motherboard) is starting to get bad and they can't handle high power use very well.
>buy gtx480 in 2011 for $500>5 years go by>buy gtx1080 for $500>It's 5x the power>10 years go by>Rtx 5080 is out >Only twice the power of the gtx1080 for 3x the price>Nu games are so unoptimized that all that power is wasted on jeetcodeThere's nothing worth upgrading toThere's nothing worth upgrading for
>>108872275I too have i7 4790k, but still on my 960. Is the change really good?>>108872507Oh, damn.
>>108872584Surely not. The GTX 980 (and 970) only take like 200W at full tilt.
>>108872110Show me your steam list right now.
>>108872594>>Rtx 5080 is out >>Only twice the power of the gtx1080 for 3x the priceLiterally not true, the rtx 5080 is 400% over gtx 1080
>>108872675most of that power is limited to generating fake frames for poorly optimized slopReal world performance is the same
>>108872205Nah, the modders will fix it.
>>108872107fippybippy
>>108872691Funny, modders refused to fix Starfield.
>>108872819you can't fix söyfield
>>108872624>Is the change really good?Fake frames bro! With DLSS and smooth motion there's very little I can't bring to 100fps+ at 1440p.Doom Dank Ages ran at 100+fps with DLSS + low/med settings. Styx blades of greed was good too.Smooth motion works best when capping real frames at 45-50, at least on the drivers I'm using.I don't play a lot of modern AAA UE5 slop, but all I've tried has been playable so far.If you get a 50xx you can probably get even more smooth with even more fake frames.I really wasn't expecting my rig from 2013 to last this long with just minor upgrades. The next rig will last a very long time.
>>108872103Use case?
nvidia and others have condition people into thinking a GPU is the only thing that matters, even though many games especially Bethesda's are extremely CPU boundalthough it doesn't help that so many engines have abysmal multi-threading implementations
>>108872103Make a new Fallout.
>>108872103Amd ryzen threadripper, 6800xt, and 32 GB ram. Is this enough?
>>108872929We need the A-Team but everyone is just ebussy. The extras, the villains, the main cast.
>>108872103You're always right,Todd
>>108872103My 4090 is over three years old now and wil be good enough for his shitty games in three years from now.
Should I build a PC now and get the best parts I can get or should I wait until next year where all the new DDR6 RAM, GPU, and CPU lines come out?The recent Nvidia 5000 series lineup was full of AI shit and fake frame generation, so is there any confirmation that the upcoming stuff is gonna be more of the same? Is this the last Gen to get "real" hardware with "real" performance? Will scalpers and supply lines still be an issue in 2027 and just fuck my waiting time?I'm thinking of getting an AMD CPU and GPU since it would benefit Isreal the least, but I'm not sure if there is any info you anons may have that would render this idea mute or neutered; work and life has made it hard for me to keep track of AMD, intel, and Nvidia to see who's fucking their customers the least.
>>108872103No, Todd. Upgrade your jeets' programming skills instead.
>>108872415Should have gone for the 5070 ti.
>>1088724151050ti's don't die. they simply detect your level of homosexuality and refuse to work.
>>108876875I’ll pay you $4 for your 4090.
