I fucking hate Teams and especially how people use it>constantly fucking constantly distracted by notifications from all kind of group chats, where people did not set it up as Threads so a single topic which doesn't concern you will send 20 fucking notifications when these asswipes are going back and forth with exhortations, asskissing, virtue signaling over a nothing burger>fucking cucks and whores who spam my direct Teams messages, learn how to use the fucking ticket system cock suckers>still you have to check it all because there could be something important, since management has decided this shit is acceptable>people don't have any self discipline to restrain their impulse and so spam you every fucking brain far and even worse "jump on a call" which I am sure is a curry phrase that permeated the civilized world >the actual Teams features suck cock as well, screen sharing only works fluidly with potato resolution for exampleFucking shit show
quit your job
>>108872464What is that going to solve motherfucker?
Also what's with the dozen meetings these morons schedule a week with a dozen attendees? Doesn't make sense
>>108872467you won't have to use teamslove from agartha <3
look I wish Teams sucked my cock instead of just suckingI have genuinely seen a company to change from Google & open source ecosystem to Microsoft because of ”prestige”Microsoft can replace their entire application suite with wet farts and fever nightmares and retards will still buy it
>>108872498They use it in all enterprises or something just as terrible. Don't give me this hardcore boomer attitude of "GTFO if you have a problem" don't pretend you are better than me and never rant aimlessly about anything
>>108872453>too dumb to mute group chats>too dumb to set a status message>too much of a bitch to go and talk to his manager to work on messaging issues>too beta to handle insubordinate people>blame the softwareyou're lucky you're even employed

>>108872453Teams does suck a bit, but what you hate is interacting with people through the screen. It's unnatural.Having Teams running in the background also feels like being under constant supervision and in really unhealthy schizo way - if you're at work you know there are people/cameras and when they're looking at you - you can see them with your eyes.Meanwhile when working remotely you get paranoid and think stupid things like - "maybe someone is looking at may status, it being "afk" for too long and thinking that I'm slacking". "Or what if they look at may activity logs and make wrong conclusions". Both technically possible btw, just unlikely as no one really cares.
>>108872560The only thing I need from you cocksucker is that you eat shit and die
>>108872563>Or what if they look at may activity logs and make wrong conclusions". Both technically possible btw, just unlikely as no one really cares. This is extremely unrealistic, managers are too intellectually lazy and inept to base their decisions on data, they "trust their gut feeling" because of their pride and incompetence. If data is used, it is only going to be used to validate preconceived ideas
>>108872453If the ticketing system wasn't a steaming pile of hot garbage, people would use it.Ticketing systems might be the single greatest example of the way mamagememt foolishness drives development of awful, counter-productive software.
>>108872612It's better than being spammed with 100+ notifications a day on Teams
>>108872576*hugs* :3
>>108872633Fucking bot go to hell
>>108872652I am not a bot, im a conscious human being. Today i woke up deciding the world sucks so i gotta hug people
>>108872615The point is, you are being spammed on teams because other people aren't using the ticketing system because it sucks. Teams also sucks, the way threads is done is far too cumbersome, Slack is completely superior, but any one sucks substantially less than the ticketing system.
Companies are too dependent on Microsoft which is preventing us from fully switching to Linux
>>108872453All these fucking collab saas shit is pure man-made horrors.
>>108872787>people aren't using the ticketing system because it sucksTeams sucks too so that's not it, it's just that they feel entitled to immediate response and attention
>>108872453>still you have to check it all because there could be something important, since management has decided this shit is acceptablethis is a you problem, if something is actually important it'll reach you through an email
>>108873476I have 4,981 unread emails
>>108873455Teams works fine in the browser on Linux.
What ever happened to Zoom? Zoom is better, and it was around first during the pandemic, but corporations worldwide all spontaneously switched to Microsoft Teams even though it's worse.I also can't stand how when you get an email in Outlook, with a calendar invitation to a meeting, and you click Accept, the email just vanishes out of existence completely. What retard thought that up?
>>108873789it comes with the whole 365 license shit and corpos love to suck MS dick
>>108873789Zoom became paid, you can barely do anything useful on a free plan
>>108872453I just mute group chats. If something needs my attention they can either tag me, mail/dm me or take it with my boss.
This thread bitching about unread notifications in teams makes as much sense as unread messages in Outlook
>>108873789MS Teams is a lot better than zoom. I have to use both all the time and Zoom sucks.
>>108873789>I also can't stand how when you get an email in Outlook, with a calendar invitation to a meeting, and you click Accept, the email just vanishes out of existence completely. What retard thought that up?Don't they end up in your send mail folder? Also you can change it in the settings iirc but yeah it's retarded
>>108873789Growing up is realizing Microsoft Teams is actually totally fine for what it does and works better than all the alternatives. Seriously I beg any of you complaining about Teams to try working at a company that does everything out of slack + google workspace, or slack + zoom, or anything else and see how dogshit that is. At least Teams has everything together in one place.
I'm tech illiterate so take this with a grain of salt (ie I just might be retarded) but I hate how it's an everything app. You've got DMs, meetings, calendars, SharePoints, project trackers ... all in one. You have to delve into the settings to make sure a new window gets opened for every task to try to 'multitask' in Teams, because the default setup is that it will close whatever you're working on to open that DM you need to answer.
>>108872513>They use it in all enterprises or something just as terrible. Can confirm, and they're all bad in some ways. The worst part of all is having other people expect to talk to you and have you listen right away. Put it in chat; I'll catch up later when I'm not concentrating on what I'm doing.
I use the brower version on my linux machine and it has to "sign in" again every 24 hours. It takes about 30 seconds for it to decide this is necessary, during which it's disconnected and chats are greyed out. Then it takes another 10-15 seconds to sign its shit in after I click the button. This happens on multiple browers even after deleting cookies.
>>108872660Go hug a bullet, hippie.

File sharing has completely stopped working today, cool
>>108876358Enterprise people love that part. That's what they get sold on. The only meaningful technical advantage is the security. It can be one big walled garden of all your shit, you don't have to worry about setting SSO or having accounts for slack, atlassian, zoom, etc.As a technical person the shitty part is realizing the company you work for has transformed into a company full of people who spend all their time in meetings passing around powerpoints and spreadsheets instead of doing anything productive.
>>108872453>fucking cucks and whores who spam my direct Teams messages, learn how to use the fucking ticket system cock suckersWhat are we supposed to do when you ignore the fucking ticket system?
I never installed this software would you believe it so I wouldn't even know how bad things really are.
>>108872467Freedom
>>108872453Yeah, I liked Jabber far better even if we had to use WebEx for video calls instead of having them bundled in one like Teams. I set mine to not shownle any notifications and if you click the little buttons on whatever the chat is you can usually mute it. I just ignore chats for at least five minutes or so before responding so people get the message that I'm not available on a dime.
>>108872478Usually they just don't do well communicating via the written word. Either in writing or reading. There's very rarely been an experience I've had that wouldnt have been easier via email communication except for a few one off H.R. issues.
>>108872563Incorrect: I enjoy interacting through Outlook.
>>108872787Tickets can work depending on how the SharePoint is set up
>>108873475> they feel entitled to immediate response and attentionThis. The worst is when someone just tries to call you unprompted.>>108873671> Teams in browser You have my curiosity
>>108875134It's more distracting and people get more worked up about delayed responses. Outlook comes with the understanding that you may have to wait a business day for a response and also allows more style control. Plus, it's nice to full screen a message for reading or drafting.
>>108873789I agree. You can usually pull it up by going into your Outlook calendar but it's dumb when they send an important attachment to be reviewed during or before the meeting on the invite and it just disappears after you accept it
>>108872453saaaaaar
>>108872453The best is when they say "Hi" and wait for you to respond instead of saying what they want.
>>108873671>Teams works fine in the browser on Linux. It also works in linux, like you can install it and it runs fine, meetings and all.. so does chromium edge and vscode.. you can just add an apt repo in debian/ubuntu. Hell even powershell works on linux.. I like keeping my work and personal pc setup separate but it does work
>>108873671didn't microsoft release an official .deb for Teams? what happened to that? no maintainers?
>>108872453I ise teams and I don't get pinged about anything 99% of the time. Most of my messages are me asking a coworker what the plan for lunch is on the days I'm at the office.Maybe switch to a place where people actually do work instead of spamming on Teams all day?
>>108878034Did you not use some form of messenger like Skype before teams? Skype was better because you could set your status to never time out and show you as away. And back then, for important things that need immediate responses, you would call people on the phone. Why does an unprompted teams call seem invasive, but real phones calls don't?
>Use the thing to set blocks of the day to busy/do not disturb >Chuckle fucks still ping me shit that doesn't need an immediate response and so would be better on an emailIt's not the software that's the issue, it's that your co-workers are moronsI got to a point where if I needed focus time I closed teams and only checked it every so often
