Do you own a tablet? I just got a Tab S11 Ultra to replace my old tablet. It's absolutely massive. I love it.
>>
I have a galaxy tab S2 running android 7. I can't stand how large the new tablets have gotten, especially when they tie specific hardware to size
>>
I got s9
I read manga on it sometimes
>>
>>108875560
I got the s8 ultra and love it yes, I use it everyday.
>>
>>108875560
A8. Nothing amazing, but works fine for basic internet shit, and also handing to friends to show them smth. I'm a PC guy, but having a tablet around can be handy sometimes.

I've had the Tab S11 Ultra since Feb.

It's great.
>>
I use a S6 lite with Lineageos. Good experience.
>>
Never owned a tablet. What do you use it for?
>>
>>108875844
Porn watching in bed
Reading in bed
Youtube/Movies in bed
Browsing media during long poop sessions
>>
>>108875560
I have an older one that is useless now.
The battery loses charge too fast and it can only be used to load a webpage.

If I had money maybe I'd get one as a bed device and for drawing if I could turn it into an external display for the OS, I think Samsung has this option for some of them. Or there's an app for it.
But I don't feel like I really need it
>>
>>108875560
I got an iPad to replace my aging laptop.
>>
>>108875560
I just want an 8-9" tablet with 5G that I can make/receive phone calls and SMS with, like a normal phone. But big.
>>
>>108875560
Weight?
>>
>>108875985
695g
>>
>>108875985
Not too bad, but I usually let it rest on my lap or chest.

>>108875844
I'm posting from one right now.

Is it comfortable to hold while lying in bed? I want a giant tablet as well but I worry it won't be comfy to hold. Pic related is how I hold my 9.7" tablet, my elbows are planted into the mattress, my belly holds up the tablet. I can reach anywhere on the screen with my thumbs.
>>108875586
Android 7 here as well, Tab A with s-pen.
>>108875844
Browsing 4chan mostly, but sometimes also doing chess quizzes. I originally bought this to tutor students with. Oh I also read books with it.
>>
>>108876349
Yes, it is. I use mine exactly this same way.
>>
What size tablet is best so that I can still navigate it while on my side in bed and propping it up with one hand? Thinking like 8 or 9 but not sure
>>
>>108876815
>>108876349
Sure way to get some brain damage going, as well as ensure you will suffer because of wrecked neck for the rest of the life.
>>
>>108875560
What do you do on it that can not be done on a computer, either a laptop or desktop.
>inb4 gooning on bed
>>
>>108877114
optimal for manga reading
closest form factor to a open book, monitors are too big and phones are too small for this
>>
>>108875560
>>108875844
>>108875861
It's a great coom aid for when you're to lazy to fap at the computer but want a bigger screen than the phone. No hands needed if you have a support (pic related), so I often pair it with my controller to play porn rpgmaker games in bed either on emulator or streaming from my pc.
>>
Bought an s8+ 5g on eBay a few weeks ago in 9/10 condition with just 1 little scuff on an edge. I'm wondering if it was stolen or something since it was only $200 buy it now, but it wasn't imei or arp locked so... eh.
>>
pulled the trigger on this yesterday. I just need something to monitor the security cameras and occasional netflix
>>
>>108875560
>A fucking camera notch
Seriously?
They couldn't have simply increased the bezel a few more milimeters?
>>
Been rocking this bad boy for a couple of years
Works great for media and shit posting
Probably the best IPS screen I've ever fucking seen
>>
Samsung A7 I got 5 years ago. It was my main manga reader before switching to an e-reader. All I use it for now is occasional browsing and videos so no reason to upgrade to another.
>>
>>108877580
It's 16:10, so during 16:9 content it isn't in-frame.

digustang

Also looks like most of the custom rom development was for the LTE model and the 3G/Wifi only models got mostly ignored.
>>
>>108877682
i managed to root it a long time ago and deleted a bunch of google bloat. that is enough tinkering for me since i don't want to break this ancient relic
>>
>>108875560
Bought a Tab S7 a few month ago and threw on LineageOS on the thing. Kinda retarded how more apps are getting rid of support for tablets for some reason, but I can't complain since I also have the keyboard and stylus. Neat otherwise.
>>
>>108875560
I got one since I figured I'd use it as a really compact laptop substitute, but I've found I rarely use it for anything other than being a second screen to have videos on when I'm using my computer.
>>
>>108877252
Woah!! $250?!?!?! That's a LOT of money for a poor person. You sure you can afford that?

Yeah, I bought a more modestly sized 9 inch one, I feel like it's a nice little nexus between bigger screen without being too big
I use it to consoom media and play vidya via moonlight

Google Nexus 7 enjoyer here, still got a full week of battery life 12 years later, dunno what dark magic went into this thing but damn I love it
>>
>>108878280
how much do you use it? i can leave my tablet under my pillow for probably 2 weeks as long as i leave it on airplane mode. i was disappointed when i got gifted a new phone and it dies if i don't plug it in for 4 days

I have this lelnopo one, chinese model with chinese software, buggy as fuck and they stopped updating it after one OS upgrade.
I thought it'd be good for just web browsing and light media but it can't even do that.
Chrome mobile and its derivatives is painfully "mobile". It unloads all your tabs if you even so much as look away from it. No extension support, I have to use edge. Fucking EDGE.
Firefox mobile works but the UI is so ass. Like it's multiple classes below chrome. Apparently Firefox mobile is just an entirely different browser? They could've just slap the desktop on android and they would've won but no they're too good for that.
The screen is hi-res (3K) but it's LCD, honestly if you're getting a tablet get something with OLED, perfect contrast and viewing angles.

Honestly though the biggest problems I've had with it are ANDROID problems, I might have been better off with an ipad.
Thanks for reading my blog post.
>>
>>108878869
if you can get lineage on it you might be able to salvage it somewhat
>>
>>108875844
It's a giant phone. Basically it's a bigger screen for doomscrolling

I mostly just use mine to draw and now I'm learning gamedev with Godot
>>
>>108878814
hour or two each day, mainly for reading ebooks but also for general browsing, comics, etc
>>
>>108878944
I can install a GSI, but those are also kinda buggy, and I lose out on features like quad speakers and speaker DSP.
It still wouldn't solve the browser issue or any of the other issues inherent to android.
>>
>>108876349
Damn, you are stacked, anon! But how do you see your tablet if your tits are in your face?
>>
Tablets are fucking worthless.
Hold your phone slightly closer to your face the same way you hold a tablet further from your face.
Having a second device to charge, update, login to, sync, carry, that has the same functions of a phone is fucking retarded.
>>
I bought a Xiaomi redmi pad 9.7 the other day because I wanted to watch some movies and shit on it in bed.
It wouldn't even load a 4k rip.
I figured it would be fine enough to just watch some movies and shit, but it was lagging even out of the box.
Also the screen was shit.
Returned it same day
>>
>>108878869
Use ff nightly, is what you are looking for
>>
>>108875560
Is thsre a pure linux tablet? If yes I would consider it
>>
You know, you're not supposed to use a tablet just like a giant phone. You're supposed to use it like two or three phones glued together. It's for multitasking and having multiple apps open at the same time.

Alternatively a fake tablet that's really just a laptop like pic rel, but these are expensive and have worse screens.

I got a tab s11 ultra last december. $850 on eBay refurbished and planning to sell it now (used it hard for like 5 months, excellent condition); since I don't play codm (or at least don't want to) anymore.

s25ultra/laptop is enough now:

>reading
it's too huge to hold
>taking notes
no. gemini/nblm + obsidian exist. only time I'd take notes is when demonstrating to friends irl, which is gimmicky, and my phone has an s-pen.
>watching videos
bigger screen is harder to watch. have to move eyes more. can't hold it while laying on my back in bed.

I'm curious do you guys only use a tablet instead of your phones to do those things as a coping mechanism for buying it? sunk cost fallacy? i wanna convince myself it's great as well but

also you can't fucking root it.
>>
>>108875560
I have an old samsung galaxy tablet (the first one in the series), I have only ever used it for movies so there is no burn in or anything, sadly it does not have hardware acceleration for h265 decoding, but h264 works fine.
I won't be getting a new one until samsung or somebosy else releases a 4k oled tablet, I don't understand why it hasn't been released already when sony had 4k phones years ago.
I am also considering getting an external 4k oled screen to use it with my phone or laptop
>>

>I'm curious do you guys only use a tablet instead of your phones to do those things as a coping mechanism for buying it? sunk cost fallacy?
No, I have been using tablets more and more over the past fifteen years. I probably spend 80% of my time on my tablet and 20% on my laptop. Over the years, I have kept buying bigger and bigger tablets. Now I have the 14.6" one shown in the OP. The way I use them has also changed. Back in the Nexus 7 days, tablets really were just big phones, but these 11"+ tablets really make multitasking easy and Android become much better at this over time. I always have 2 or 3 apps open at the same time, except maybe when I'm watching a movie, playing a game, or reading a book/pdf. PC/laptop is still needed if you want to do coding, writing lots of text, using specialized software only available on PCs, or playing heavy PC games. I sometimes run games on my laptop but still stream it over wifi to my tablet.

I got mine brand new less than 2 months later for less than that >>108875802

I got the 5G 512GB one for 1100 euros ($1275, but the price includes a 24% VAT tax Americans don't have), which was pretty good deal.

i have an alldocube play 50 that apparently came with backdoors off the factory line

All consumer electronics are backdoored at the low hardware level.

I got the Wacom Movinkpad Pro 14. Mostly use it for drawing and reading manga. Was thinking of getting the Tab S11 Ultra but the camera notch would have been too distracting.
>>
>>108881085
256GB really isn't enough in 2026, but the state of the semiconductor industry being what it is, they're going to keep doing it.
>>
>>108881105
It's got a microSD card that supports up to 2TB.

It's fine.

I've got a 256GB card in mine right now, but 512-1TB aren't all that expensive if I really needed more.
>>
>>108875560
your phone isn't a tablet?
>>
>>108875560
i own the regular tab s11
>>
I do like the new s-pens more than the old ones. You don't need all that fucking Bluetooth shit in there. They just need to make the pen button less subtle and easier to press and it's perfect.
>>
Are tablets going to be replaced by folding phones?
>>
>>108875560
what the fuck is the point of a tablet besides gooning
>>
>>108875560
i dont have one anymore i sold it cause i needed money and was selling excess stuff but i loved reading comics/manga on it. if i were to get somethig today ive heard the lenovo legion y700s are good but also the lenovo p11 and p12 tablets i also hear are good i would get one of the three
>>
>>108881657
not in the next few years imo, foldable phones cost twice as much as flagships but offer inferior hardware
>>
>>108881657
No.
>>
>>108880433
Phone is too small for me. It hurts my eyes when I use it for more than a few minutes. I need something bigger if I intend to consoom text or media for more than an hour.
>>108881214
No
>>108881657
Maybe. I won't buy a folding phone until I see how they look like after 5 years. I am a frugal fag and I like keeping things that just werk for years.
>>
tablets rule, there's nothing more comfy than laying in bed and watching videos on my tablet.
