Why the fuck is every website asking for cookies now? I can't even use Fandom Wikia without being raped by cookie ads or watch porn without it. Like it will literally take up your screen and you can't get exit out of it without hitting 'Yes' "Only required,". Is this some plot?
>>108877092EU regulations.
>>108877104I live in Shartmart
>>108877395thanks, is ublock origin really enough? Or do you need something like "I don't care about cookies"? And does it just accept the cookies and hides it from you? Or does it decline all cookies possible and hides it as well? Or just ignore?
>>108877106Probably some new California regulation and the corps are just overdoing it just to be safe
If you don't save the cookies, they don't remember what you picked so they ask you again.
>>108877427i don't care about cookies started breaking sites for me, pretty sure it was just hiding the overlays and the site started to require a confirmation before it worked properly
>>108877106No one wants to risk geolocation detection being wrong so they make the entire planet suffer through the EU's requirements.
>>108877092>Why the fuck is every website asking for cookies now?EU law made it mandatory to ask for user's consent. In the past web sites didn't ask for your consent, they just installed tracking cookies on your device without asking. The question you should be asking is why does nearly every website and their "partners" want to track me?If you walked into a store and a salesperson asked to install an AirTag on you to see where else you like to go, would you accept?
>>108880128why dont EU just make a law to forbid tracking altogether then since shart corps will cuck out to their demands?
>>108881221Normies like curated ads. 4chan incels only spend money on crypto.
>>108877092>>108877106Ur dumb.Europe made a GOOD law that all websites are required to inform you of their tracking habits and give people permission to request some privacy. This did not change anything other than showing you how many websites are actively stalking you , rather than keeping it a secret. All european websites do this for all countries lol.
>>108881221Because the EU doesn't want to stop tracking, they just want to bully small companies and maybe extract a multi-billion euro fine from Google every couple of years.
>>108877092Use extension "I still don't care about cookies"
>>108877092Enable the ublock origin filter for them then
Europe passed a law saying that if a website tracks you, they have to get your consent first. So of course instead of not tracking you they maliciously complied and just purposefully annoy the used with "THE EU MADE US ANNOY YOU LIKE THIS" popups. Get an extension that just auto-rejects all the cookies.
