>>108879588No. Why would you think otherwise? I don't even like Chrome but it's impossible to deny Google's deathgrip on web standards.
>>108879588Only way for Chrome to feasibly die is if there are dramatic developments in the appeal for the US anti-trust case. The court agrees that Google is operating an illegal monopoly, however they consider a breakup of products like the Chrome browser too extreme; Google just isn't allowed to pay for 'default search engine ' deals anymore (I am sure Mozilla is sad about this), and Google needs to share data that helps in the training of competing search engines and AI.As long as Chrome is the default browser on android phones, and websites are optimized for Chrome and Chromium, it will continue to dominate.Ladybird will capture the power users and privacy-orientated individuals though, and it is possible some of the privacy-focused Chromium forks will switch over.
It will probably cannibalize Firefox instead. The gecko engine has legacy code dating back to the 90s, now Ladybird is written from scratch.

>>108879588No, YolkOtter is.>We sat down with the CEO of YolkOtter, Notariel Pearson.>"When we began development of our new browser, we had two inspirations: all the countless Firefox forks with no known usecase and never-coming-out browsers such as Ladybird. YolkOtter will revolutionize the fictional browser market!" Notariel told us.
How hard is it to make a Windows binary? No, seriously. The project doesn't even target a Windows build.
>>108882793Windows is targeted for the stable release in 2028.They say they don't have enough Windows devs for porting (outside WSL2) and maintaining a Unix browser, so it is not worth the effort nor considered a priority at this stage.
