Hey at least you can just change your view to align icons to a grid of any spacing of your choosing, on a folder by folder basis if you so desire, at a custom zoom level if you need it
Pic related cannot get rid of this gigantic gap unless you resize the window (in fact, you can only make it bigger) and there's no way to save zoom levels per folder. Now that is some horseshit.

>>
>>108905717
Earlier you said:
>cannot get rid of this gigantic gap unless you resize the window (in fact, you can only make it bigger)
Anon just showed you that he got rid of the gap and now you're saying "well OK, you can make it smaller, but the smallness is not granular enough for me".
That's how it looks to an outsider anyway. You aren't explaining what you think should be happening here at all. Use words rather than drawing red bars on UI screenshots and expecting us to read your mind.
>>

>>108910877
You're completely right about making it nearly gapless, that was an out he could have used (quoting my mistake) and for whatever reason, he didn't. So I moved a goalpost there.
But >>108905567 shows a half, clearly. And this post says "remove half the spacing". It honestly doesn't look that unclear to me.
Point is these are 4 options as opposed to pic related. Surely this is generally understood without me going into granular detail as to what is represented here (or maybe drawing some arrows). In the same fashion I missed the "Small" label width setting a lot of people around these parts seem to behave like they haven't used a computer in years and they act like this >>108902354 when it comes to Finder specifically.

>>
Hey, macfag, can your itoy do this?
>>
>>108911146
That moving the goalposts without owning up to it that makes your line impossible to follow. You want the gaps smaller, anon makes them smaller. You say you want them smaller again, he makes them smaller again. Internally, without telling us, your position is no longer "the gaps should be smaller" but "I should have more granular control over how small the gaps are" and you expect us to know that we should be focusing on "half" rather than your previous angle of just "smaller". We aren't mind readers ("You know perfectly well what I'm talking about" no we don't. How on earth could we?) and you never say this because you think you'd lose face, so we think you're being a retard.
>>
>>108911453

How does that address anything I just said? I think you're still trying to save face (for some reason, on an anonymous imageboard) so you're coming up with meaningless pilpul. It's incredible to me the lengths people will go to on here just to avoid saying "oh, my bad".
Even if this would were somehow a valid point, it goes from ~75 pixels to ~25. If it were 85% it would decrease to ~11 pixels.

see how the mouth is shut and lip is curled up?

That's one variation of the disgust face. The evolutionary favoritism of that is keeping out airborne microbial disease. That's why the mouth is shut (so nothing gets in) A common thing that also happens irl is people go in a public bathroom reeking of the smell of feces and they'll shut their mouth like that and blow air out their nose to prevent inhaling the air while running out to breathe.

Its reflexive behavior we humans have

That's more kinetics than practicality.
It only looks cool because it feels like you manipulate docs like material objects.
But what do you practically achieve with that?
In the end, it's nothing that you couldn't do with just simply selecting items to view them. And you could do that with much fewer actions and complicated graphics than that.

Nobody will spend time interacting with docs like that. People need one action to get to an item's content directly. Click-open, click-reveal, click-maximise. They don't do: draw line to select bunch, so then you need to do more actions to actually get to what you needed.

It's one example of software being too smart but impractical. No wonder this hasn't gained mass adoption. If it was great it would be widely used.
