What's the current state of graphics card drivers on linux?
>>108899613AMD > Intel > nVidia
>>108899613Nvidia drivers are so bad on Linux, you may as well just use AMD cards for the same performance.
>>108899613https://mesa3d.org
repost.>>108899334NOFALSEThe white race is totally different.
>>108899613there are many edge cases with nvidia gpus stillamd and intel gpus just work
>>108899613hacky as fuck from all IHVs. if you want proof look at Android. Vulkan drivers are near non existent except for Snapdragon.

>>108899735IT'S SO FUCKING OVER FOR NVIDIA HAHAHAHAHAH
>>108899490>>108899493What do we think about the 8060s?
>>108899735this is what directstorage was supposed to be
Why is my 5700X3D/1080 Ti so comfy?
>>108899592why is his shirt tore up at the bottom?
>>108899791Pascal has better DX11 support than Blackwell and nearly everything is still DX11
i'm putting together a new build reusing my old 3080ti (which i may upgrade in the future)i followed a lot of guides and checked if everything is compatible, but im still unsure if there are better choices
>>108899791Because you're poor
>>108899793his shirts not torn, he is so fat his shirt is too small.
>>108899791That's a cpu gpu mismatch. The cpu can handle at LEAST a 5800.
>>108899836The most graphically demanding games I play are Fallout 4 and NieR Automata.
>>108899841aka DX11 games >>108899796
>>108899799I clear $1000 a week, I don't pay rent, my two BMWs were only $13k total, and I have over $20,000 in anime figures.
https://youtu.be/SUqQrlLV0tUI don't think that 6000 cards are ever happening
>>108899889AMD is the only IHV with confirmed DX13 support.Nvidia doesn't.
>>108899889Oh it will happen. They've long abandoned the desktop market thoughThe 5060 to 5080 are rebadged laptop chips while 5090s are failed workstation quadros
>>108899889>I don't think that 6000 cards are ever happeningCan happen, it will just be a new DSSL software that is only compatible with new cards that have 0 improvements on the hardware.
>>108899889>It's been months.>Steve is still crying and screaming about how everything is bad and AI is evil.No idea how anyone can sit through this shit week after week.
>>108899684>Vulkan drivers are near non existent except for Snapdragon. Not even snapdragon, the newer Samsung chips have better vulkan support only because AMD is making the GPUs for them.
>>108899898>DX13Why would I even want that. It will just be ai bullshit that spy on us.
>>108899924>>Steve is still crying and screaming about how everything is bad and AI is evil. He's right about that, but he's wrong about anyone leaving the market. Both AMD and Nvidia have been very open about moving to chiplet GPU designs and we all know they will need products to dump the parts that aren't good enough for corporate clients.

>>108899948Cp is such an ugly game. Everything is just too grainy
>>108899931WDDM/DWM runs on the latest dx possible. from vista it was 10. with 7 it was 11. today its 12. eventually its 13.
>>108899928Samsung is a shitshow too. If you live in the US you get Snapdragon. If you live anywhere else you get Exynos or AMD. Same price and everything but one has much worse battery life and Vulkan drivers.
>>108899962>today its 12. eventually its 13.I still don't have 12, lol.
>>108899969Ackshually this year's snapdragon elite gen 5 is ass and provides about the same battery life as the exynos 2600The only real advantage it has is its better DSP algorithm for superior image processing
>>108899969The snapdragon chips are locked down as much as possible id rather have the exynos with xclipse GPU, and the battery difference is only present when using 5g due to Qualcomm having the better modem.
>9600XT is $480, a card ~20% worse than a 7800XT>SSD prices still out of control>still $500 for 32gb of DDR5Is this hobby permadead?
>>108900017You will rent cloud compute and you will be happy.
>>108900000Very true.
I bought a 9070xt and my house caught fire
>>108900000Nice numbers. I've been thinking of getting a snapdragon machine, but the lenovo thing I was looking at doesn't have decent linux support.
>>108900017>still $500 for 32gb of DDR5I just sold my 2x16gb ddr5-6800 udimms for 500 aud... 350 usd...
>>108899841Like ok man, maybe downgrade the cpu, you're killing the planet.
>>108900123The CPU is actually required for FO4. A 3950X was barely an improvement over an i7 4790 and would still see dips into the 40's. To get a largely stable 60fps takes the 5700X3D. And it's only 64W full bore.
>>108899791rdna5 will be the time to upgrade, because it's the ps6/xbox generation, a 10070 xt should be good for 8+ years
>>108900017It was pretty dead before all this, newer generations are just gaming on console and phones. Prices being out of control sealed the deal, and home computing is never going to be affordable again.
Are Chinese SSDs affordable these days or has it become full cancer like dram pricing?
>>108900234I have a 5900x, maybe I should buy that shitty game and see if it works lol
Is there any chance that the prices will be better within the next 3-4 months?I know it won't go back to early 2025 levels, but maybe a little bit closer to sane prices at least?
>>108900415Should do just fine. It's not a shitty game, it's just self-entitled children shit on it because it wasn't the game they were expecting.Just wandering around exploring, collecting stuff, and killing things is fun. I highly recommend a build that maxes luck. It's possible to get to a point where you bank a critical shot every 2 hits, and critical hits will keep the scaling enemies from becoming bullet sponges.
>>108900389They are mystery meat and you want to plug in mystery meat because that's asking your OS to commit suicide
>>108900481I'm kind of tired of "destroyed" environments games. or like starfield and hogwarts revenant are like here are lots of non-whites. but, I am not non-white.
>>108900017>permadeadeveryone's dead if we don't see a rise in extreme racism.
>>108900500I doubt that. They're all asian junk, honestly. Japan somehow manages to be the asian but not really.
>>108900643FO4 doesn't really feel destroyed. It's abandoned/rebuilding/repurposing.
So would my 6000 kit be fine for a 250K? Circumstances have arose that requires me to buy a new CPU and Motherboard.
>>108900722It would be just not to its max potential. Big money for 8000s or so and manual tuning is the ceiling for arrow lake plus.
>>108900481>Just wandering around exploring, collecting stuff, and killing things is fun. It gets pretty repetitive for me. Finding attachments that are x% more powerful, seeing enemy types that have y% more health, getting sent to x location instead of y location to kill x enemy instead of y enemy... and after you've been in a few locations you got the gist of most of them. When you boil it down you're just doing the same shit over and over and it feels like nothing matters.
>>108900818Okay, would it still be good enough for most gaming related tasks though? I can't really afford new RAM just yet.
