What's the current state of graphics card drivers on linux?

Nvidia drivers are so bad on Linux, you may as well just use AMD cards for the same performance.

FALSE

The white race is totally different.

there are many edge cases with nvidia gpus still
amd and intel gpus just work

hacky as fuck from all IHVs. if you want proof look at Android. Vulkan drivers are near non existent except for Snapdragon.

AMD is the only IHV with confirmed DX13 support.
Nvidia doesn't.

Oh it will happen. They've long abandoned the desktop market though
The 5060 to 5080 are rebadged laptop chips while 5090s are failed workstation quadros

>I don't think that 6000 cards are ever happening
Can happen, it will just be a new DSSL software that is only compatible with new cards that have 0 improvements on the hardware.

Not even snapdragon, the newer Samsung chips have better vulkan support only because AMD is making the GPUs for them.

Why would I even want that. It will just be ai bullshit that spy on us.

>>Steve is still crying and screaming about how everything is bad and AI is evil.
He's right about that, but he's wrong about anyone leaving the market. Both AMD and Nvidia have been very open about moving to chiplet GPU designs and we all know they will need products to dump the parts that aren't good enough for corporate clients.

WDDM/DWM runs on the latest dx possible. from vista it was 10. with 7 it was 11. today its 12. eventually its 13.
>>
>>108899928
Samsung is a shitshow too. If you live in the US you get Snapdragon. If you live anywhere else you get Exynos or AMD. Same price and everything but one has much worse battery life and Vulkan drivers.
>>
>>108899962
>today its 12. eventually its 13.
I still don't have 12, lol.
>>
>>108899969
Ackshually this year's snapdragon elite gen 5 is ass and provides about the same battery life as the exynos 2600
The only real advantage it has is its better DSP algorithm for superior image processing
>>
>>108899969
The snapdragon chips are locked down as much as possible id rather have the exynos with xclipse GPU, and the battery difference is only present when using 5g due to Qualcomm having the better modem.

I just sold my 2x16gb ddr5-6800 udimms for 500 aud... 350 usd...
>>
>>108899841
Like ok man, maybe downgrade the cpu, you're killing the planet.
>>
>>108900123
The CPU is actually required for FO4. A 3950X was barely an improvement over an i7 4790 and would still see dips into the 40's. To get a largely stable 60fps takes the 5700X3D.
And it's only 64W full bore.
>>
>>108899791
rdna5 will be the time to upgrade, because it's the ps6/xbox generation, a 10070 xt should be good for 8+ years
>>
>>108900017
It was pretty dead before all this, newer generations are just gaming on console and phones. Prices being out of control sealed the deal, and home computing is never going to be affordable again.
>>
Are Chinese SSDs affordable these days or has it become full cancer like dram pricing?
>>
>>108900234
I have a 5900x, maybe I should buy that shitty game and see if it works lol
>>
Is there any chance that the prices will be better within the next 3-4 months?
I know it won't go back to early 2025 levels, but maybe a little bit closer to sane prices at least?
>>
>>108900415
Should do just fine.
It's not a shitty game, it's just self-entitled children shit on it because it wasn't the game they were expecting.
Just wandering around exploring, collecting stuff, and killing things is fun. I highly recommend a build that maxes luck. It's possible to get to a point where you bank a critical shot every 2 hits, and critical hits will keep the scaling enemies from becoming bullet sponges.
>>
>>108900389
They are mystery meat and you want to plug in mystery meat because that's asking your OS to commit suicide

>>
>>108900500
I doubt that. They're all asian junk, honestly. Japan somehow manages to be the asian but not really.
>>
>>108900643
FO4 doesn't really feel destroyed. It's abandoned/rebuilding/repurposing.
>>
So would my 6000 kit be fine for a 250K? Circumstances have arose that requires me to buy a new CPU and Motherboard.
>>
>>108900722
It would be just not to its max potential. Big money for 8000s or so and manual tuning is the ceiling for arrow lake plus.
>>
>>108900481
>Just wandering around exploring, collecting stuff, and killing things is fun.
It gets pretty repetitive for me. Finding attachments that are x% more powerful, seeing enemy types that have y% more health, getting sent to x location instead of y location to kill x enemy instead of y enemy... and after you've been in a few locations you got the gist of most of them. When you boil it down you're just doing the same shit over and over and it feels like nothing matters.
>>
>>108900818
Okay, would it still be good enough for most gaming related tasks though? I can't really afford new RAM just yet.
