How do we stop China from decimating Western companies? The sanctions, tariffs etc. They've all failed. We need something harsher.
ok I have an idea: just make good products, and sell with good price.

>>108900929This. It's the same shit with motorcycles for example. I was in the market for a small cylinder ADV bike, and basically my options were:>CF Moto 450 MT: Chinese brand, gets all the mechanical and functional fundamentals right, cuts corners on small shit no one cares about like the tiny plastic buttons on the dash/handlebar. MSRP 6000 bucks>BMW/KTM/Kawasaki/Yamaha: All competent bikes but each comes with unexplainably retarded quirks like 180 degree crankshaft engines, or laughably low ground clearance for bikes that are supposed to handle off-road riding. Minimum 8000 bucks, loaded with a plethora of stupid electronic features no one asked for to justify their high price. You can imagine which of those is the most popular. It's a tale as old as time and applies to all industries desu. Well-established, dominant companies eventually get lazy, sneer at inferior upstarts, and eventually enter panic mode when said upstarts build up the experience and customer good-will to overtake them.

>>108900921It's simple: remove almost all tariffs.China massively subsidizes their tech and manufacturing, so by allowing imports tariff-free, we would effectively bleed the Chinese government of money. Lower tariffs would also reduce manufacturing costs because factories need to import stuff. What would also help in the USA is deregulation so they can finally start to mine their massive deposits of rare earth materials.

>>108901747>Why did Europe and its colonies give away all their industry and knowledge to China for free?It wasn't for free, it was part of the agreement that western capital made with China during their opening up. Western capital got to make record profits by exploiting cheaper Chinese labor in addition to gutting the political power of unions in their own countries (as they naturally disappeared with the domestic manufacturing jobs). China in exchange got to kick-start its own economy by openly demanding tech transfers from the west and learning everything there was to know about modern manufacturing processes straight from the source. This was the agreement from the start and anyone kvetching about "muh stolen intellectual property" is really just showing their historical illiteracy.Again, not asking you to like China, but that was the agreement from the start and how they even got China to "open up" at all.
DJI is a drone companythey got ahead because people want to use this type of device for drones
>>108902316https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoPro_Karma#Design_and_development>GoPro first attempted to enter the drone market in February 2013 after Chinese drone manufacturer DJI released their GoPro-compatible Phantom quadcopter.>DJI CEO Frank Wang had approached GoPro CEO Nick Woodman about partnering to create a new drone, but talks fell through when Woodman wanted the new drone to be branded as a GoPro product.[1][2]
>>108900921I actually didn't even know anything about cameras and bought latest iPhone and latest GoPro. Ford vs Dodge is just stipulating that the owner can't get away from his contractual obligations by citing "company needs" as an excuse nothing stops you from kneecaping sharholders, as long as the contract is very explicit in you doing so. see the SpaceX IPO for a recent example
>>108907598>Because given a choice between getting shafted by seedy western corpo slopare you retarded or just pretending? you are getting shafted by greedy western corpos that sell stuff made in china.just cut the middlemen already, retards.
>>108900929The problem is that any company that wants to make a good product in the US will not be able to compete with Chinese prices because they don't need to follow the same health/safety standards nor do they need to pay livable wages / it's much lower over there. Plus they have huge economy of scale. This means the only way for US/Western countries to survive is by offering high quality products at a high price. Middle tier will get decimated once Chinese fakes reach a decent enough quality, and low tier will be even more raped by the Chinese. We handicapped our manufacturing to cope with the economy (we're massively inflated from the Biden/COVID era, and have been just going up and up in inflation for a very long time), so our economy is raped and we need to do something about it. Honestly, I support just cutting off China as much as possible, but it doesn't really matter when you flip-flop on it constantly and let big companies buy from China still. Regardless, it's a fucked situation and if you want to support your fellow countryman you need to pay up.
