do any of you still use the pattern to lock your device screens?
it's a lot better than using a code and using any of the sensors

Mediocre bait

>>108901417
My phone is unprotected
If anyone ever steals it they will have access to all of my accounts, but fuck it I'm not unlocking my phone 50 times a day
>>
>>108901442
just wipe your pattern trail after opening

Never use such thing. Always used the complex password.
Nowadays I use a portable gene sequencing machine and it works flawlessly for my desktops and workstations.
>>
>>108901477
Even if it was locked once phone gets lost or even broken this means I can't even pay my bills.
So stupid.

just call the company and pay your bill lol? or go to any checks cashed place and pay yur bill
or go online and pay your bill
or send them a check in the mail and pay your bill

Fingerprint unlock takes the exact same amount of time as just turning on the screen.
You are gaining zero convenience at the cost of 100% of security.
>>
>>108901417
#7 is possible
>>
>>108902216
I'm not giving the tech Jew my fingerprint
>>
>>108901477
This. Two factor authentication drove me to disable the screen lock on my phone, it's one less password I have to put in every time I'm forced to go through the re-authentication humiliation ritual.
>>
>>108902306
???????????? So you're too much of a lazy nigger to type in 4 numbers, too much of a lazy nigger to swipe a line, and too much of a schizo to store a fingerprint locally on a device.
Yea you deserve to be pwned.
>>
>>108902216
Not true. If someone bonks you during you walk late night, they will unlock your shit by pressing your finger against the device while you're knocked out.
Just a random hypothetical situation when having a code or at least this stupid pattern or a pin is better than a fingerprint.
Fingerprint is only for when your screen is already unlocked. As a protection lvl 2.
>>
>>108902344
I fully agree with you. Fingerprint is the bare minimum level of security, and really only helps you if you lose your device.
But for the anon I was replying to, it seemed like the most frictionless possible option to suggest.
>>
>>108902336
but I haven't been pwned, and I fully admit that I am being reckless with my security. Why are (your) panties in a knot?
>>
>>108901417
I use a simple Z to honor the heroes that fell in the liberation of the Donbas.
>>
>>108902130
how you gonna call them without a phone, you knob
>>
>>108902684
I forgot that we each get assigned one phone for life as soon as we're born and it's all riding on that single device forever.
>>
>>108901417
I use a 254 character password as well as an open source usb-c solokey to unlock my rooted android phone
>>
>>108901417
Yeah I like the pattern lock, lets me input a more complicated, harder to read code than a 4-digit PIN in the same amount of time
>>
>>108902344
> If someone bonks you during you walk late night, they will unlock your shit by pressing your finger against the device while you're knocked out.
And then what, check my browser history and photos once until it locks again? Bank and password manager have their own locks, changing any security settings requires pin/pattern, reboot requires pin/pattern.
You can't have just the biometrics as a key, it's always only a secondary with pin/pattern primary.
>>
>>108901417
>1, 6, 8
last I tried android did not allow immediate backtracking to the same dot so a pattern must have at most two loose ends
>>
>>108901417
you can see the pattern on the screen anon where people have dragged their finger look at your screen same shit works on worn keypads

It's worse than that, if someone wants to unlock your phone they will fucking cut off your finger. I would never use any body part for security. Retina scans are the scariest. Imagine not only losing access to all your accounts but also having your fucking eye gouged out.
Much better to have a password, then you can decide exactly what level of torture you're willing to endure before giving it up.

>Government can spy on you
>FAGMAN can spy on you
>Chinese and Russian goverments probably can spy on you too

My pattern is literally a U on the bottom right quadrant. Glowies could get into my phone if they wanted to, why make it harder for myself on a daily basis?
I just want to keep jamal out if I ever lose or get my phone stolen
>>
>>108906462
I don't even know what level of schizo you're on.

>>108901417
Sure but doing a complicated pattern is pointless, takes a long time and doesn't offer any extra security.
>>
>>108903386
Who's going to do that to you? Who's thinking "I want to steal a phone" and is willing to take the charge of torture and maiming to do it in additional to plain old mugging?
If you're a criminal, you weigh up the payout of the crime versus the risk you bear from doing it. Eye gouging is way more legal risk for no more gain, realistically.

Good thing FaceID requires you to look at your phone then. And I'm sure someone cutting your head off is the least of your concerns.
