I switched from Nvidia to AMD and the drivers are good, I used windows for the first year and I'm using Linux for the 2nd year now. I think the AMD driver is really good and ROCm works really well on Linux.My friend switched from AMD to Nvidia and he has to hunt specific driver versions to fix his problems and said the AMD software is better. I think Nvidia is definitely better on the cuda stack, because it's included in the normal driver.

That PC gamers are used to and they lose their shit when they cannot use the technologies NVIDIA only brings to their cards. I am completely okay with AMD's offering.

switched from 3080 to 9070XT and couldn't be happier, i also switched to CachyOS and the drivers are good

Thats why they haven’t released a game in more than a decade.I think in around a year or two, especially with Nvidia now bailing the PC consumers, that ecosystem will be no more.As in, people picking AMD might be future proofing themselves by accident.
Over the years I've had more problems with nvidia, but maybe I just lucked out.The only thing that's consistently broken is the performance overlay.

I've had AMD GPUs since the very early 2010sTheir drivers -were- trash but they would very slowly improve that situation over the years. The problem is the introduction of new features like overdrive in real time, the overlay and such other stuff caused a lot of issues at first, or everytime there were substantial updates to these features. Also with newer GPUs. At this point they're much, much, much more stable than they've been. I have a 9070xt and I have experienced zero issues with it, can't say the same about the only nvidia GPU I bought in years, the 4070 super. In fact I had this idea in my head that nvidia was more stable/always handled drivers better and the last 2 years proved that theory definitely wrong. God I don't understand how nvidia can fuck up so much how an overlay is supposed to work.

Also their control panel is one of the shittiest programs I've ever had the displeasure of using I get that normies need their eyecandy faggotry but at least have the option for a proper regular one like nvidia has, not that that thing hasn't got its fair share of issues
I got my first AMD GPU for gaming in 2005. By then I had two Nvidia GPUs and four AMD GPUs. They all worked fine, not without problems, but that was the same with Nvidia and AMD. GPUs are a complex product and nothing is perfect.
