Both are text-heavy twine based games (well, FC was anyway), both their own flavor of thing. I've contributed to codebases for both in past... I've never found a management game that scratched the same itch as FC, outside running LLMs anyway.

I use ST and local models which I also share on Horde (my part-time node is Komachi Panko Manko, mostly on when I'm asleep). I kinda write a skeleton on chub, download it local, write and test in ST, and then copypasta back to chub. Its a fairly convenient system for me, unless I copypasta the wrong local revision, which I've certainly done. Easy to fix at least.

LLMs and similar tech do some damage, yes. People such as redditors tend to exaggerate the damage per task, implying a single generated token boils the entire ocean over.
The truth is that "damage per token" ain't that high. If you're using your LLM for a useful task, the "damage" is almost surely going to be justifiable. Like you said there are a million other activities that do more damage for less.
If I had to point out a problem, it is that the current industry is outputting an absurd, absurd amount of tokens and most of them are fucking useless and in many cases the generated text is some bullshit the user didn't ask for and that he won't read (like the google summary). I'd say this isn't a problem with the technology. It's a problem with the fact VCs are subsidizing these companies. The moment the investor juice runs out, and companies have to actually make the costs of these datacenters work in their balance sheets, you'll see the useless generations dry up really fucking fast. Then we'll be left with actually worthwhile uses of LLMs with a reasonable ratio of environmental impact to value generation.

Idk about deepseek since we have no control over it but on Claude you can control where it goes in your config.yaml settings. Then set your lorebooks to inject before the cache cutoff so it never gets affected. Otherwise for deepseek you need to use unlimited context without any edits to you or the AI's responses for a cache hit.

Well yeah. Basically you gotta assess what can change your context during the rp and remove all those influences. And that's why the question of summarizing is brought up often, when you're nearing your context length limit you have to summarize the entire context and then swap it to the resulting summary, so it'd go like 32k->3.2k, for example. If you understand the structure of your code then lesser models are more than enough.
