Why does Microsoft outsource everything?
>>

>master chief looks like a plastic action figure now
UE5 was a mistake.
>>
>>108912665
are you really asking sar???
>>
>>108912665
Why don't they just ask Claude to build it for them?
>>
Again? Didnt they already remake it back in like 2015 for MCC?
>>
>>108912665
They don't have the talent to do anything internally.

I know this isn't /v/, but isn't this the exact thing that killed Halo Infinite? Too much contracting and outsourcing making the codebase a mess and slowing down crucial updates (i.e., fixing Big Team Battle, adding Forge) which basically led to its all-but abandoned state currently when they said it was supposed to represent "the next 10 years of Halo"?

>Why does Microsoft outsource everything
Because US labor costs too much money for the sales they'll get, it's really that simple, if they hired a southern or eastern european studio to make the game, the costs would probably be under 100 million and it would be released in 3 or 4 years instead of taking a whole generation to make and over 400 million dollars.

>Because US labor costs too much money for the sales they'll get
this has never been a factor. they'll do it even when it's very profitable. why? because the point of business is to screw as much money out of a product as possible. product quality doesn't actually matter, margin does. more margin is better margin, even if you're making garbage.

autists don't understand this because they think product has inherant value, so they keep missing the point.

microsoft is now an indian company
good morning, sir
>>
>>108912665
Have you ever heard of a single good video game that came out of India?
Me neither. Since Microslop is not an Indian company, what did you expect?
>>
>>108912665
>a lot of outsourcing
Yeah, we could tell.

Because the American empire prints so much money everyone with the misfortune to live in America and not be a welfare whore needs the rest of the world's future value of the dollar to live.
>>
>>108912665
Maybe it’s because talent apparently isn’t considered special anymore, since anyone and their mom can learn anything nowadays and customers don’t even demand engineering perfection. Plus, in thirdie there’s basically no labor protection, so companies can just exploit them
>>
like they heard our complaints on 4chan and decided yea lets go all in on this tactic
>>
>outsourcing halo
might actually be a good game this time around
>>
>>108913354
everyone uses contract work. these lazy ass Bay aream otherfuckers want 100k for 8 hours of work a day. they got so much backlash that everyone's outsourcing crunch to asia.

Added value for customer ¬‿¬
>>
>>108912665
i actually worked on halo infinite's trees for a bit as an outsource jeet.

why? it's cheaper, like from half to a tenth american salary(depending on the role), plus you don't need to actually hire people yourself. and we were only slightly worse than the devs in the wect. i would say american devs are built different, after i actually managed to get in and work with americans in person, but the dev quality doesn't really justify the cost difference.

ue5 is optimised for making teasers and ingame cinematics. you could fix it up easy, but then cinematics would look worse and be harder to make.

and since consumers of videogames are just iq90 incels, well, only trailer matters for the sales. surprise surprise, the system optimises for its purpose.
>>
>>108913354
no, we didn't kill halo infinite. we did a decent job.

lack of decent plot killed halo infinite, and these decisions were made by americans. maybe you should stop hiring diversity studies niggresses and basedboys if you don't want your videogame to suck ass.

the team i was on did a decent job and we were always on time.
>>
>>108912665
Because they can
>>
>>108916835
the visuals were trash but I won't blame you nigga the invidivual assets were fine but look in the distance any time and pretty much everything's flat and borderline unshaded looking.

inifnite's visuals are better than most ue trash by the simple virtue of it not being ue. our trees look great.

the problem was that americans making decisions didn't put in enough effort and had no idea what they wanted to do. tale as old as time - nepo babies in management can't bother to architect the product, middle management keeps juggling features around, underbaked shit comes out on release.

>>108912665
sir outsourcing do the capex savings and reverts back with the shareholder EPS needful
>>
>>108913240
Yes. They are so dumb they are remaking a game for the 2nd time

There’s plenty of books to chose from to use as a story for a new game

the problem is, american baseds will buy the needful. they could pirate instead, but they will indeed buy a second remake and pay money for it.

it like with onlyfans. if you have mindless cuckolds willing to pay cash money for photos instead of sex, supply will shift towards the shittier product. letting normies out of serfdom was a mistake.
