Ferrari cars haven't been cool since the 2000s
>>108918232It did kek
yeah it's a ferrari in drag alright
>>108918092Context is important. It looks alright for a 50k upper middle class commuter. It looks like absolute SHIT as a Ferrari and is a complete and utter joke for a 400k Ferrari.
>>108918071Range 329 mi (529 km) How come e-cars still have pathetic range, 10 years later? Does battery tech stagnate that much?
>>108918071COPY NOTHING
>>108918629Yes, but also you'd not want a massive battery on a performance car because it's heavy as fuck.
>>108918499>$50k>upper middle classI'm getting the distinct impression the hate is completely astroturfed or at the very least pure mob mentality, because it's always accompanied by the most ignorant and incoherent rationalizations imaginable. It also doesn't look like a $50k car, it has the exterior design language of a "luxury" electric car in the $80k starting range if it was American. Accounting for the fact it's European, that the interior is better than Rolls Royce's entry in this market (somehow) and then you have to factor in the cost of the prancing horse. My naive guess would have put this car at $250k accounting for all of those. Which makes sense, because that's ballpark what a modern California would cost, and this is clearly in the same headspace.Anyways, you're not wrong that it's different from previous Ferraris, but this isn't the first time the design language has radically shifted. When they went to boxy shit in the 1970s the flames of outrage were stoked back then. Probably the only cars you can think of that are "true" to Ferrari's visual heritage are the ones with a 250 moniker. Shit like the 365 GT4 were utterly reviled for being cheap-looking soulless crap chasing a shitty futurism aesthetic. Eventually Ferrari had to compromise and brought back more curves with the 308 GTB, though obviously the cars were never as highly valued or seen as "soulful" like the 1960s and before. Most of those boomers died off though, so now the 70s and 80s boxes are highly sought after by the "tasteless children" who don't "know any better". Like it or not, this is what the future of cars looks like.

>>108918893Because it apparently is. Ferrari is losing sales over there and they're trying to regain the Chinese new money market. Besides>low drag coefficient>fuckhuge frontal areaYeah, I bet they desperately needed that low c_d

>>108919019Plenty of new money over there. The fact that their governing has loose historical ties with communism and thus still uses some of its symbols doesn't mean it actually is communist. They do have millionaires and billionaires too, you know.
>>108919074You are missing the '5-door saloon' part maybe. That they'll buy Lambos or 'classic' Ferraris - sportscars - yeah, no argument. I'm just not seeing the market for this tho, not at this price.
>>108918494kek
>>108918629That's about 5 hours of continuous driving, which is plenty. You'll want to have a pee and eat/drink something before running out of charge.Any bigger battery increases the weight for little benefit.

>>108918071I’m putting 3 on order, this is the sickest Ferrari ever made. Love the poorfag cope about it too!
>>108919308It's true. That's what "luxury" cars are these days. Shitboxes like Lexus or BMW or Audi or like a fucking C-class. For EVs it's shit like Rivian that constitutes this "Luxury" segment. The Ferrari fits right in, though if you look closely you'll find various aspects about how the car is designed that indicate it sits in a higher tier. Things like the active aero, fewer panels, more complex shapes, etc. But you have to really be looking hard at it.Obviously if you're not actually a car person, or you know jack shit about industrial design I'm sure you can't tell the difference between that thing and an NSX or whatever.
>>108918071>judging a car by how it looksis this really the technology board? do people here care more about form than function?
This is the last Ferrari personally approved by Enzo>RWD>twin-turbo V8>disregard road standards, like being able to see behind you>spartan interior>no amenities>no safety features>final destinationThe brand used to have two sides. The cushy boomer luxury cars for people to show off in, which was used to fund the driving experiences that would get Enzo's power over aero boomer dick hard. Now it's nothing but luxury slop for posers. They used to fight as hard as they could and skirt regulations to get demons on public roads. The soul of the brand is dead along with its testosterone and the Germans have mogged them to death when it comes to cars you're actually meant to drive fast. Ferrari can't even get in the top 20 Nordschleife street-legal category these days. Sad!

I rode in an electric car for the first time in my life today. When the driver "turned it on" and the car just silently started moving I was greatly disturbed. I think I could tolerate an electric car if it were 1/3 the price of a normal car, but I would never pay full price for one
>>108918092It's not trying to peacock, I can respect that.
>>108922134What's the fraud? Do you go to pay for the car and then the twist is that the car doesn't exist?

Why's it so low? How are you meant to drive it at night when everyone around you is in one of those giant cuck trucks with their high beams on?
>>108918071I think it looks kinda cute. But Ferrari's haven't really looked cute since the 1950s/60s, and they weren't exactly cute in context of the era. A $600k cute, electric Ferrari is kinda whack though.
>>108918742There aint no way you came up with all that copium to try and rationalize why that car looks like it should be worth more than a house

Don't you need drag in wedge form pushing you into the asphalt when exceeding 150mph to not just leave the road sometimes and die horribly even while driving perfectly? If the tires leave the road for even half a second you have zero control and may be pointed into a direction you cannot recover from when they touch back down.Oh who am I kidding the people that can afford these things are wise and old and don't actually drive them fast.Which is why they don't end up killing other innocent drivers like something the general population can afford.
This is now a Haruka thread.
>100 replies>nobody points out that drag coef and drag are two different thingsit will sell like fresh bread because people are retarded
>>108918092pic related looks so much better
>Well that's a bit of a weird one for Ferrari>Probably some consumer class cheapo thi..>Price: €550 000 / $660 000Lol, what the fuck were they thinking?Yeah the Apple factor is a thing, but this is just ridiculous. It's also fully electric and Ferrari has an absolutely shit track record with battery cars. They'd have been way better off just going all out Fiat Multipla style ugly as sin design, and they could have at least hoped for it to reach some kind of a meme status that would have been a selling point.
Very powerful vehicles scale poorly with lithium batteries. The very high discharge rate is prone to causing them to get hot or explode.I wouldn't want a 1,000hp electric vehicle.
>>108918071>lowest ever on a 'rari>immediately crashses and burns alive in the 'rarriNothing personal, Jony.
>>108918071Looks cool hope it is not the one I have a topic for at my job. I won't disclose the details but there is one thing that they want to sell for marketing reasons that has zero technical reasons and is an actual detriment to... everything including the end customer. It is just something you show to a rich person and they may think it is cool.
It's over
>>108926842the designer of this piece of shit could probably knock you up a passable vacuum cleaner. A harmless household device which should also be the limit of Ive's ambitions, instead of his irreversibly trashing marques like Ferrari.
>>108925370There's a thing called cooling anon.
Here's my theory: nobody at Ferrari wanted to make this car, but they needed to because muh Chinese market. So they outsourced the whole project to the magically magic mouse guy so they could at the very least cash in on the clout it would generate. All publicity is good publicity.
>>108927512Do the Chinese still deep throat European car manufacturers? When I was there in 2015, there were always motorcades of black bmw sedans rented for weddings. But now I know their family cars look more advanced and modern that anything bmw releases these days. They have self driving cars arguably better than teslas. So would enough Chinese fags with bad taste even want some European car to justify building it?
>>108921909Cars have all lost their soul, they are all gigantic heavy super safe ugly pieces of shit no matter how fast or loud they are. It's over.
>>108918629The liquid electrolyte chemistry needs liquid cooling when you hit energy densities, so the heat doesn't runaway. Because already heavy and needs casings that contain explosions lithium chemistries do not simply scale. The donut battery doesn't give a fuck about being tortured by heat or current rush in or out and won't explode conventionally.
>>108927512>Here's my theory: nobody at Ferrari wanted to make this car, but they needed to because muh Chinese market. [...] so they could at the very least cash in on the clout it would generate. All publicity is good publicity.Jaguar already put that theory into practice and made 40 sales (down from 2k)
I think Porsches look the best. Maybe it's because they barely ever change anything about their designs. It projects confidence. Being absolute fucking beastly cars also helps.
