Context is important.
It looks alright for a 50k upper middle class commuter.
It looks like absolute SHIT as a Ferrari and is a complete and utter joke for a 400k Ferrari.

>$50k
>upper middle class
I'm getting the distinct impression the hate is completely astroturfed or at the very least pure mob mentality, because it's always accompanied by the most ignorant and incoherent rationalizations imaginable.
It also doesn't look like a $50k car, it has the exterior design language of a "luxury" electric car in the $80k starting range if it was American. Accounting for the fact it's European, that the interior is better than Rolls Royce's entry in this market (somehow) and then you have to factor in the cost of the prancing horse. My naive guess would have put this car at $250k accounting for all of those. Which makes sense, because that's ballpark what a modern California would cost, and this is clearly in the same headspace.

Anyways, you're not wrong that it's different from previous Ferraris, but this isn't the first time the design language has radically shifted. When they went to boxy shit in the 1970s the flames of outrage were stoked back then. Probably the only cars you can think of that are "true" to Ferrari's visual heritage are the ones with a 250 moniker. Shit like the 365 GT4 were utterly reviled for being cheap-looking soulless crap chasing a shitty futurism aesthetic. Eventually Ferrari had to compromise and brought back more curves with the 308 GTB, though obviously the cars were never as highly valued or seen as "soulful" like the 1960s and before.

Most of those boomers died off though, so now the 70s and 80s boxes are highly sought after by the "tasteless children" who don't "know any better". Like it or not, this is what the future of cars looks like.

>>108919308
It's true. That's what "luxury" cars are these days. Shitboxes like Lexus or BMW or Audi or like a fucking C-class. For EVs it's shit like Rivian that constitutes this "Luxury" segment. The Ferrari fits right in, though if you look closely you'll find various aspects about how the car is designed that indicate it sits in a higher tier. Things like the active aero, fewer panels, more complex shapes, etc. But you have to really be looking hard at it.

Obviously if you're not actually a car person, or you know jack shit about industrial design I'm sure you can't tell the difference between that thing and an NSX or whatever.

This is the last Ferrari personally approved by Enzo
>RWD
>twin-turbo V8
>disregard road standards, like being able to see behind you
>spartan interior
>no amenities
>no safety features
>final destination
The brand used to have two sides. The cushy boomer luxury cars for people to show off in, which was used to fund the driving experiences that would get Enzo's power over aero boomer dick hard. Now it's nothing but luxury slop for posers. They used to fight as hard as they could and skirt regulations to get demons on public roads. The soul of the brand is dead along with its testosterone and the Germans have mogged them to death when it comes to cars you're actually meant to drive fast. Ferrari can't even get in the top 20 Nordschleife street-legal category these days. Sad!

I rode in an electric car for the first time in my life today. When the driver "turned it on" and the car just silently started moving I was greatly disturbed. I think I could tolerate an electric car if it were 1/3 the price of a normal car, but I would never pay full price for one

Don't you need drag in wedge form pushing you into the asphalt when exceeding 150mph to not just leave the road sometimes and die horribly even while driving perfectly?

If the tires leave the road for even half a second you have zero control and may be pointed into a direction you cannot recover from when they touch back down.

Oh who am I kidding the people that can afford these things are wise and old and don't actually drive them fast.
Which is why they don't end up killing other innocent drivers like something the general population can afford.

Yeah the Apple factor is a thing, but this is just ridiculous.
It's also fully electric and Ferrari has an absolutely shit track record with battery cars.
They'd have been way better off just going all out Fiat Multipla style ugly as sin design, and they could have at least hoped for it to reach some kind of a meme status that would have been a selling point.

The very high discharge rate is prone to causing them to get hot or explode.

Do the Chinese still deep throat European car manufacturers? When I was there in 2015, there were always motorcades of black bmw sedans rented for weddings. So would enough Chinese fags with bad taste even want some European car to justify building it?

The liquid electrolyte chemistry needs liquid cooling when you hit energy densities, so the heat doesn't runaway. Because already heavy and needs casings that contain explosions lithium chemistries do not simply scale.
The donut battery doesn't give a fuck about being tortured by heat or current rush in or out and won't explode conventionally.
