Got a 3080. 1440p / high refresh rate setup. Starting to struggle here and there. 16x2gb DDR4 ram sticks (3600mhz cl16), 5700x3d and a 3080 setup is what I have currently. Thinking of getting a 5080 since PSU is enough to cover the wattage needs. Right now, preliminary searching tells me it won't really bottleneck except at a very minimum amount at niche cases. Don't think my 3080 will last too long when it comes to demanding titles at 1440p and higher than 60fps.Do you guys think it'll to be enough to properly last 3-4 years or do you think the CPU and older ram will fuck me at 1440p? Don't feel like buying new CPU yet since I'd have to swap the mobo. And with a new CPU I'd need a new ram, at that point that's pretty much an entire new build with the hyper-inflated prices. Thinking of just getting the GPU and trying to weather ~4ish years and see if component situation overall improves.
>>108924686I'd rather just text reviews with filters for screensize and panel type so I don't have to scroll through omg awesome chungus 32+ oleds
>>108924723I am going to say no it won't last long16gb simply just isn't going to be enough for the next generation of games
>>108924749I searched for rumors/leaks surrounding new GPUs, and it's grim. Is it really better to wait at this point, do you think?Maybe could go even cheaper route, forego premium nvidia features and get 9070xt to hold out for the time being, I guess. Don't care for path/whatever tracing shit. Transformer model for DLSS is nice, but don't know if it's worth the premium. Wouldn't use framegen due to input/latency lag.The only options with higher vram are 4090 and 5090, I'm not paying for that lol.
>>108924723either get a 9070 xt now or an nvidia gpu, or wait until december 2027 for the next gen
>Upscaling support covers NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR—Intel XeSS is not available. We checked the game executable and confirmed that FSR is version 3.1.5 (not FSR 4), compiled directly into the binary rather than loaded as a separate DLL, meaning it cannot be user-overridden. DLSS ships at version 310.6.0—the very latest available—bringing full DLSS 4.5 support with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation up to 6x. This is a stark contrast in vendor treatment: NVIDIA is a first-class citizen with the cutting-edge SDK, AMD gets an outdated upscaler, and there is no frame generation, despite FSR 3 supporting it, and Intel is shut out entirely. The native TAA implementation is notably poor, producing a low-resolution, grainy, and jittery image—interestingly, previous Hitman titles using the same Glacier engine did not have this issue. It looks like the game is rendered at lower resolution, despite selecting "native." If you want a better image, you should use DLSS. The visual difference between TAA and DLAA is huge, even DLSS Balanced mode looks noticeably better than native TAA, so we strongly recommend using DLSS. Even FSR Quality (there's no FSR DLAA equivalent) looks better than native TAA.Radeon driver override doesn't work for FSR 4.X in this game. Sad.

>>108924873>compiled directly into the binary rather than loaded as a separate DLLthat's plain malicious, they literally went out of their way to do that.
>>108924788>Wouldn't use framegen due to input/latency lagIt's minimal to non-existent perceptually. Many games have worse latency out of the box than other games with FG. Unless you're heavily optimizing for latency (running below full GPU load in games without Reflex), you're just making up problems

Is it still worth buying a network card with 10 gigabit ethernet or better if your mobo only has gigabit? Dunno what premium LGA1700 boards with it command over X470.
>>108924986>wood on a pc is mega cringeThere has to be some late stage capitalism comnentary on this kike marketing scheme, PCs are MACHINES meant to be FUNCTIONAL first, if you want them looking like a cozy living room appliance we can just put it in a nice looking shell, not on the components themselves

That board looks good and wouldn't be out of place at all in a Nordic design environment. Good luck finding matching design in other components though.

For under 400 aud, is a 3070 "turbo" the best graphics card I can get that fits into two slots? Power-wise, I only have a single 8-pin, which I plan on splitting to two 8-pins using an adapter from ebay.I'm currently running a quadro rtx 4000, but koikatsu brings it down to its knees. 5-10 fps in a scene with 10 characters.Or is the performance boost from the 3070 not worth spending that much?

Eeeyyy, guys. How much luck have you had using Optiscaler's Vulkan FSR 4 port on RTX remix games? I'd try it out myself, but I'm burned out. Is it even possible to get that working in tech demos like the Quake II or Quake ones?

Just bought an Asrok steel legend, it's being paired with a 5800XT in a very high airflow case (RV02 Raven). The hope is that the lack of a vapor chamber will aid in the inverted orientation. The 3x180mm chimney stack air cooling set up should keep the card running very cool.I am wondering about differences between 3x8 pin and 2x8 pin and performance, I'm assuming that for an older system there's no point trying to max out the GPU anyway, as bottlenecking will come into play, and my aim is to have great performance, stability and longevity.Any thoughts appreciated.
